Plot[]

A year since the reclaiming of King Neptune's crown, Mindy, the newly 17-year old mermaid princess of the kingdom of the formerly iron-fisted, non-compassionate King Neptune, serves as the sole nurse to all the injured and sick deniziens of the castle, much to the discomfort of her father. Witnessing a group of idle teenaged sea creatures pass by the outer castle limits, Mindy begins ponders on what it would be like to live as a normal teenager, atleast for a day.

A single question to her father on what it's like to be a teenager has her concerned that she's gonna be a slave to royalty preparations once she properly turns of age.

Sneaking out at night to find the truth and experience normal teen activities, she finds a random gang of undersea teens at a beach party, soon discovering she cannot relate to them due to her more upper human and royal nature. Swimming back home alone in disappointment and narrowly avoiding a sudden beer can, she rises to the surface above and stumbles upon a gaggle of human teenagers having the same beach party by a lit bonfire. Hidden by a short wooden pier and the pitch black darkness, she admires the group from afar, mesmorized by the new sounds and sights of a finally normal teen experience. She also develops feelings for Jean, one of the intoxicated human boys at the party. Completely wasted, Jean falls off the pier and into the water unconcious, prompting Mindy to use her Mermaid Magic to rescue him and bring him back to shore. As she dives back into the water, Jean notices her singular fist-sized tailfin retreat back into the water.

She swims back home to Neptune's castle in pure lovestruck delight, conjuring up a plan to become human and live a few days of being a normal teen. Hiring and making a deal with a local hagfish sea witch, she makes a deal with Mindy to transform her into a human for four and a half days in exchange for a bag full of Neptune's riches. Within these three days, Mindy must never touch large amounts of saltwater, otherwise, she will temporarily transform back into a mermaid and suffocate. Mindy accepts, being brought to shallow waters where the human beach party was held on a intensely foggy morning, and is transformed into a human. A crazy, elderly fisherman local Old Man Steve, witnesses Mindy's transformation and begins his plans to capture her. Bare naked on the sandy beach, Mindy grabs an abandoned shirt and jean short shorts and makes her way inside the small Harbor town attached to the shore and the pier, where she reunites with Jean and his gang. Taking Mindy under their wing, she experiences an assortment of teen-related activitives for the first time ever over the course of the day, from late-night games of ding-dong ditch to fancy-brand-sweatshirt-shopping to smoking seaweed at a closed-off playground, During all this, Mindy and Jean become closer and closer. With no place to stay, Mindy is offered to stay with younger, sister-like teen girl Akane Yamamoto at her house, where she also experiences seafood from a naseautingly distrubing perspective and sleeping in a normal, non-slime-coated bed. Mindy, in the dead of night, awakens from a nightmare in which she witnesses many innocent sea creatures being slaughtered by the giant cyclops, one who previously roamed the outskirts of Shell City

The next morning, Mindy is caught off guard by Old Man Jenkins, pouring a bucket of saltwater and transforming her back into a human fist-sized mermaid. The last thing Mindy sees while breathlessly flopping on the cold, puddled concrete is Jenkin's stretched-out hand. Mindy reawakens in a fish bowl within a gift shop ran by Old Man Jenkins and suffers from a panic attack. Her niche nightmare had come true. Mindy spots Jenkins talking on the phone with the authorities and setting up a dissection table, not before snatching her from the safety of the fish bowl and placing her on a worker desk underneath a boiling lamp light. Her fate is now sealed.
