[2007 Walt Disney Animation Studios plays, but still keeps going, the text fading out as we zoom out, when we see Mickey's pupil, as we zoom out to see him; he turns off the short with a remote, and clears his throat]
Mickey: November 18, 1928. History was made. A star was born. November 18, 1928. The date that I was born, in fact, if you will. [chuckles] I don't really know why, mind you, I was having a grand-as-ever day on the sweet, old S.S. Willie. But I didn't care. Who would if they're steamin' on Willie?
[ripples to a flashback of Mickey getting onto Steamboat Willie all those years ago]
Mickey: [in flashback] Gee-ya, [chuckles] [reads the boat; it says "S.S. Willie"] S.S. Willie... Steamboat Willie? That rolls off the tongue swell!
[Minnie comes along; Mickey blushes when he sees her]
Mickey: [in flashback] [comes up to her] [anxious] B-b-by g-golly gosh, ma'am, you're the most gorgeous mouse I've ever seen with my ey-eyes! Who are y'?
Minnie: [in flashback] [blushes] Uh, gee... thanks. I-I'm Minnie. You? Who are you?
Mickey: [in flashback] We gotta cherish our short-lived friendship! C'mon, just a visit when I go get the cows? I can whip up a picnic, maybe play a humble tune!
Minnie: [in flashback] Eh... I guess that sounds fair. [smiles]
Mickey: [in flashback] Woo-ee!!!
Minnie: [in flashback] I'll bring a po' boy or two.
Mickey: [in flashback] I'll bring hot dogs! See ya later, gorgeous!
Minnie: [in flashback] [blushes, as she kisses Mickey on the cheek]
Mickey: [in flashback] [blushes] I... think that this is the start of something!
[Later, on Steamboat Willie, Mickey starts singing a song called "Willie and Me"]
Mickey: [in flashback] Oh, in m' wildest dreams, I never ever thought I'd get to take the helm, 'cause when my papa first took me on the S.S. Louisiana, I entered an ethereal realm. But here I am, today, and oh, I gotta say... I've never been more delighted, never, ever, ever, you see, who wouldn't. It's just Willie and me! I've never been more excited, steering it all, oh, gee... who wouldn't? It's just Willie and Me! Oh, in m' craziest thoughts, I never ever thought I'd get to say I did it, but now I can say I did, and it's swell, oh it's swell, oh it's swell, ol' parrot, hit it!
[The parrot is holding a bucket of water, and he throws it with his beak on Mickey's head and laughs; Mickey, frustrated, takes it off and continues the song]
Mickey: [in flashback] But... here I am, today and oh, I gotta say... I've- I'm sorta delighted... it's not as fun it looks, to me... at least it's just Willie and me! ...And that parrot...? [picks up tempo] Myeh, I've never been more excited, never, ever, ever, you see, who wouldn't, it's just Willie and me!, C'mon, c'mon! [claps twice] Who wouldn't?! It's just Willie and MEEEE!!!!!!
[The song is interrupted by Peg-Leg Pete coming in]
Peg-Leg Pete: [in flashback] You're not at all alone, you tiny, puny rascal, now go scrape up the beets or you'll be left out on the dock!
[Mickey is thrown downstairs]
Mickey: [in flashback] I've certainly been more delighted. Quite a disappointment, actually. I thought it would just be Willie and Me.
[The song ends]
Scene 2: Train to Toontown/Meeting Clarabelle/Minnie Joins the Gang[]
[After Mickey's journey on Steamboat Willie, it clockwises to Mickey and Minnie eating po' boys on the dock]
Mickey: [in flashback] [sighs] Minnie, he was terrible.
Minnie: [in flashback] I know. I know, but... just, it doesn't matter. What matters is that it's over.
Mickey: [in flashback] He would throw me around, and that doggone parrot wouldn't help.
Minnie: [in flashback] He wouldn't. Y'know what? Let's get some pie from the local bakery.
Mickey: [in flashback] I-I'm sorry, I can't, Minnie. I gotta go home to my friends.
Minnie: [in flashback] [sighs] Already?
Mickey: [in flashback] I get it. But I gotta. Unless you wanna come or something. Yeah, that would work great. Please?
Minnie: [in flashback] Dear, I gotta go see my parents. I don't want to split separate ways, but it was inevitable.
Mickey: [in flashback] [starts to cry, as Minnie walks away] Minnie... [falls into the water]
Clarabelle: [in flashback] Wait, you were riding Willie, weren't ya?
Mickey: [in flashback] Uh-huh. Yeah, I-I-I was.
Clarabelle: [in flashback] Oh my, with Peg-Leg Pete?
Mickey: [in flashback] Is that his name?
Clarabelle: [in flashback] Mm-hm. Everyone fears 'im. The hungriest, greediest, most ruthless cat in all the west, tobacco 24/7!
Mickey: [in flashback] Gee...
Minnie: [in flashback] [off-screen] MICKEY!
Mickey: [in flashback] Mm? [turns to the window, where he sees Minnie running near the train on the track] Minnie! Don't-don't do that, it's dangerous!
Minnie: [in flashback] [muffled] Pull me in!
Mickey: [in flashback] Excuse me?
Minnie: [in flashback] PULL ME IN!!!
Mickey: [in flashback] I- just- I can't do that!
Clarabelle: [in flashback] Mickey, that's your Minnie?
Mickey: [in flashback] [nods]
Train Driver: [in flashback] [off-screen] Train to Toontown, ahem, we have a running mouse on the track who looks like she needs assistance, doors will be opened to help her out. Capiche?
[The doors open]
Mickey: [in flashback] I'm on it! [pulls Minnie back into the train as the doors close] Minnie! [cries tears of joy]
Minnie: [in flashback] Mickey! I-
Mickey: [in flashback] Why were you running on the train tracks?! You had me worried sick!
Minnie: [in flashback] Yeah, I'm- I was- I'm sorry. It's just that--- I wanted to tell you some, uh... good news.
Mickey: [in flashback] Hm?
Minnie: [in flashback] So, uh, uh... my parents agreed on the consideration of me... moving to Toontown, and-
Mickey: [in flashback] YOU WHAT?!?! WOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [hugs her, crying out of tears of joy]
Minnie: [in flashback] [blushes] [smiles] Well, yeah, [clears throat] and, uh... yeah. [kisses him on the cheek]
[Suddenly, the train stops, as the Driver comes to the two]
Train Driver: [in flashback] You, uh, th-this "Minnie", can continue your sweet love pursuit... thing... right after you actually buy a ti- [Minnie kicks him into the wall]
Minnie: [in flashback] Nobody cares!
Mickey: [in flashback] And continue driving the train, at that!
[The flashback ends]
Scene 3: Present Day/The Mick Himself/Dinner at Mickey's[]
[Present day, we zoom out of ToonTown, where everyone is walking around, wondering when Mickey would come back, when it pans to Mickey on a cliff right above the town]
Mickey: I'm back, see? Well, uh, [chuckles] obviously, they can't see me yet, since I am, yet to, uh, y'know, CRASH THEIR FRICKIN' PARTY!! Woo, uh, so... [jumps off a cliff, and lands in the middle of the street, as a spotlight covers him, and starts singing "The Mick Himself"] Yeah, it's me.
Donald: [turns to him] WHAT?!
Mickey: Oh, it's me.
Goofy: [turns to him] Good golly!
Mickey: Yes, it's me, yes it's-
Jiminy Cricket: [pushes through the crowd] Would you stop with all your folly?!
Mickey: Bad to see you're not so jolly.
ALL:Back! He's back! Back finally! We thought you'd've died when you went to save your amie!
Mickey:Nonsense, nonsense! Nons-
Minnie:I can save him too!
Mickey:Uh-huh!
ALL:The Mick Himself, what a helpful helf, bringing such fun to you! The Mick Himself! What a helpful helf, bringing, bringing, bringing...
Mickey:Gee, it's so swell, to be all back, shiny and golden.
Donald:You don't say! We can tell!
Goofy:Love you don't lack!
ALL:You never olden!
Mickey:It's been a while, since I skipped a mile, I lived through every year, brightenin' any mood, bringin' such fun and cheer! I went all around the world, slid from an iceberg to a canyon- [falls, then lands in Baymax's arms]
Baymax: I am your personal healthcare companion.
Mickey: Thanks, Baymax, but I'm fine as a fanyon...
ALL:Back! He's back! Back finally! We thought you'd've died when you went to save your amie!
Mickey:Nonsense, nonsense!
Goofy:He does what all should do!
Mickey:Wait, really?
ALL:The Mick Himself, what a helpful helf, bringing such fun to you!
Mickey:Gee it's so swell, to be all back, joyful and new.
Donald:You don't say!
ALL:We can tell!
Goofy:Fun you don't slack!
Clarabelle:You never blew!
Mickey:It's been so long, since I gave up strong, I pulled and pushed it through, I'm livin' my best life, meeting my due! I went all around the world, oh, I went all around the globe, you can say I had quite the probe!
ALL:You can say he had quite the probe! Back! He's back! Back finally! We thought you'd've died when you went to save your amie!
Mickey:Nonsense, nonsense!
Minnie:Peg-Legged Pete we sue!
Mickey:Uh-huh!

Minnie:Uh-huh!
Donald:It shows!
Goofy:Go on, Mick!

[We zoom out of Toontown as we see the logo for the movie, and the song ends]
[It then fades into a shot of Mickey's house, zooming in to see him eating dinner with Minnie, Donald and Goofy]
Goofy: [picks a potato with a fork, then inserting it in his mouth and eating it] Mm! Mick, you sure do know how to make a meal.
Mickey: [blushes, chuckling nervously] Thanks, well... [chuckles nervously] I've practiced, y'know... [chuckles nervously] It's no big deal, really... It's what a good friend'd do...
Minnie: It's what a good boyfriend'd do!
Mickey: [chuckles] Goofy, Donald, you two... uh... could you by any means leave Minnie and I in privacy? We need to talk.
Goofy: Aye, aye, sir.
Donald: On it...
[They both leave the room]
Mickey: Uh, Minnie?
Minnie: Mm-hm?
Mickey: Have you started on th-the plans?
Minnie: Plans for what?
Mickey: The f-festival?
Minnie: Ohhh, that... No. Not yet.
