Megalania (SciiFii)

The megalania (Varanus priscus modernus), also known as the giant goanna and the giant monitor lizard, is a species of gigantic monitor lizard native to southern Australia, originally living during the Pleistocene and was once extinct, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii. The megalania is the world's largest natural lizard on Earth, hence its other common name, growing to be around 5.5 meters (18 feet) and weigh about 575 kg (1,268 lb), but despite its size, it is actually most closely related to the much-smaller common goanna and not the komodo dragon, although it is a distant relative as it is part of the same genus. The megalania is a carnivore like most other monitor lizards, preying mainly on giant marsupials such as giant wombats, along with other reptiles and small mammals, as well as birds and their eggs and chicks, but don't hunt domestic animals (except feral animals like brumbies, dromedaries, bantengs, wild boars, etc) or, due to genetic tinkering by SciiFii to prevent humans driving megalanias to extinction again. The conservation status of the megalania is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, their wide natural range, and their non-aggressive natural towards humans and truly domestic animals (despite their large size or their carnivorous diet).
