Synopsis

A good-natured but overprotective and rather clumsy guardian angel is sent to protect a rebellious teenage boy who often gets in trouble as they get engaged in a series of shenanigans while dealing with odd events.

Characters

Main

  • Daniel "Danny" Marshall (voiced by Jason Marsden) - a rebellious teenage boy who befriends Lena and often engages in several misadventures with her, even if she disagrees with some of his ideas, as he likes her company and even admitted she's "the girl of my dreams".
  • Lena Sapien (voiced by Kath Soucie) - a good-natured but overprotective and rather clumsy guardian angel who is assigned to guard Danny, often trying to get him away from danger, using magic to pass as a "mortal", as she slowly develops a crush on him.

Supporting

  • Evan and Janice Marshall (voiced by Jess Harnell and Candi Milo, respectively) - Danny's friendly and caring parents who are fond of Lena and like the idea of her hanging out with him to get him away from trouble, despite being unaware of her divine origins.
    • Tag (vocal effects by Dee Bradley Baker) - a stray dog that Lena befriended and wanted Danny to raise him as he eventually adopts him as his pet.
  • The Great One/Grant Sapien (voiced by Brad Garrett) - the stern head of the Great Plains and Lena's father who assigns her to protect Danny from any trouble, even if sometimes he worries about her lack of experience about the mortals' behavior.
    • Azrael (vocal effects by Dee Bradley Baker) - an angelic cat who is mainly the Great One's cat as he is extremely frightened at anything.
  • The Mother/Claire Sapien (voiced by Susanne Blakeslee) - Lena's eccentric but caring mother who helps the Great One to manage the Great Plains while teaching her about the wonders and dangers that the mortals' world brings.
  • Timothy "Tim" Oldring (voiced by Will Friedle) - a teenage boy who is Danny's best friend and is just as rebellious as him.
  • Nathan Platt (voiced by Charlie Schlatter) - a shy teenage boy who sometimes falls victim into Danny's shenanigans.
  • Carly Rannells (voiced by Nika Futterman) - an athletic teenage girl who is smitten with Timothy as she befriends Lena and is willing to be the best friend around.
  • Sara Davis (voiced by Hynden Walch) - a gothic teenage girl who prefers to stay away from people rather than hanging out with them, although she is fond of Nathan and tries to bond with him.
  • Ms. Jessica Marvins (voiced by Grey DeLisle) - a cynical History teacher who is often suspicious of Lena due to her weird behavior and has a certain dislike of Danny due to his rebellious behavior.
  • Bobby Ferr (voiced by Rodger Bumpass) - a chill and understanding counselor who is one of the few people who are comprehensive about Danny's shenanigans as he is often suggesting him to engage in activities he'd be interested such as TBD.

Trivia

  • As stated on the show, Danny is 14 and Lena is around 216 (physically 16).
  • Despite the use of some divine mythology, the series doesn't add any religious connections, since its developers wanted to focus more on the comedy.
  • As stated on the series, there's two types of angels: the ones that are the souls of deceased people and the ones who were born into it as such like Lena's case.
    • Same with the demons.
