Synopsis[]
In Earth-56679, creatures known as Kaiju have been assaulting Earth as a combined effort of the government and Stark Industries have developed machines to fight off the Kaiju as the issue focuses on several people living in this universe.
Transcript[]
The Issue begins in New York as a giant green humanoid monster gives a shrieking roar before destroying buildings. Suddenly a giant red robot lunges at the green humanoid as the monster tries to fight back. The machine ends up using a plasma blade to cut the monster's arm off as the monster gives a screech. The robot then sticks the monster's arm inside of its mouth as it collapses and dies. The machine then flies off as it cuts to a military base as the red machine arrives and the pilots exit being revealed to be Peter Parker and Flash Thompson as they leave the mech.
- Peter: That was intense...
- Flash: We killed a Hulk... I guess we aren't as inexperienced as we thought.
- Peter: Yeah I suppose so... like out of all of the Kaiju that exist, we fought a Hulk and won.
- Flash: We truly are best friends dude.
Suddenly Commander Natasha Romanoff comes.
- Romanoff: Parker! Thompson! Follow me!
They do.
- Peter: Is there anything wrong?
- Romanoff: Yes there is. We are now down 20 soldiers.
- Flash: Was it a massacre at the hands of the Kaiju?
- Romanoff: I wish. It was a defection. Norman Osborn was declined to use his design of single pilot mechs because the mental state of the test pilot has been declining. Stark declined the project because he cared about mental health. So Osborn quit and offered everyone to join his own private military group and twenty people agreed to it.
- Flash: Uhhh don't worry. It's only twenty people. I am positive we can beat twenty people.
- Peter: Flash, don't get cocky.
- Flash: Sorry.
- Peter: So you need us Miss Romanoff?
- Romanoff: Not me... Stark himself.
It cuts to a government meeting as Tony Stark, his head scientist Otto Octavius and their top pilots James Rhodes and Pepper Potts talking to President Steve Rogers and various government officials while it is also being broadcasted on TV.
- Steve: So Mr. Stark you are telling me that over twenty people defected because you fired one person?
- Tony: Osborn was endangering the sanity of people around him. The test pilot of his first mech, the Carnage, ended up becoming insane.
- Otto: Besides, I've been researching to find where the Kaiju arrived and why and I am getting closer every day.
- Tony: Please President Rogers. Keep us active.
- James: Our two person in a mech strategy is a great experiment in teamwork and Osborn proved that the technology is too complex for one person pilots yet.
- Steve: You know what? You have yourselves a deal. Norman Osborn, if you are seeing this, you and your defected allies are now enemies of the state. If you don't surrender and destroy all of your mechs by tomorrow, I will authorize Stark Industries to do it for you.
It cuts to Osborn and the rest of his recruits watching it.
- Norman: Crap!
- Alistar Smythe: Should we head his warning?
- Norman: Of course not! We will crush everyone that gets in our way!
- Harry: Good thinking, father.
- Norman: Of course it is. I am the only hope to save the world and do it efficiently. Stark believes the side effects are dangerous but they just boost the results.
- Smythe: So you are saying the insanity boosting is intentional?
- Norman: It is. It makes the fighter more observant and ruthless towards the kaiju. So Earth will be done with this crisis and I'd be hailed as a hero.
He laughs insanely as it cuts to a realm that is not Earth as there is a group of figures corrupted by the energy as it is revealed they are creating the Kaiju. The figures are revealed to be the long missing Bruce Banner, Reed Richards (and the other Fantastic Four), Erik Lensherr and Wanda Maximoff as all are covered in pure negative zone energy as one figure is watching over them all. Earth-56679's Annihilus. He smirks.
