Marvel Cinematic Universe is the expanded universe based on Marvel Comics, with president and producer, Kevin Fiege, coming with the creative productions and projects for the cinematic universe. In 2010, Fiege signed a contract with Fox Studios to retain the rights of the X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four arc characters back and produce those characters into the larger universe beyond the Avengers characters. Fiege has opened his mind to producing more R-rated films for the more adult themed characters such as Wolverine, Deadpool, and more on. He, along with directors James Gunn, James Mangold, and Anthony Russo, confirmed that many series on both Netflix and ABC will take place in the expanded universe. The television shows being produced over the years will be Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Heroes For Hire, The Defenders, Moon Knight, Blade, White Tiger, Deadpool, Agent Venom, Gambit, Ghost Rider, Cable & The X-Force, The Thunderbolts, and The Punisher on Netflix, as ABC will feature Agents Of SHIELD, She-Hulk, Blue Marvel, Nate Grey, Silver Sable, New Warriors, Night Thrasher, and Legion.

Ex-con Scott Lang is paroled out of jail and reunites with his daughter, Cassie, who has been met with a terminal cancer. Scott goes back into the criminal life and breaks into the Pym household to collect valuables for in hopes to find something to cure his daughter, who means the world to him. Scott only ends up finding the iconic Ant-Man battle suit in which Hank Pym used during the Cold War. Instead of calling the police, Hank takes Scott under his wing and gives him a shot to turn his life around; become the Ant-Man and fight evil. As Hank takes Scott under his wing, Scott infiltrates Darren Cross, a former prodigy of Hank, who is planning on replicating the Pym Particles to create his own powerful army to strike against Pym. Scott finds that Cross has the ultimate cure to his daughter's disease; will Scott be able to redeem himself as his newfound identity as a hero?

After Steve and the Avengers go to Africa to stop a chem-weapon from releasing from the hands of one of Steve's old enemies and an entire village ends up blowing up, that is the final straw; political pressure mounts upon the Avengers after all the turmoil and casualties they have inflicted in the past years. The Secretary of State introduces the Superhuman Accords, a signed paper that would regulate the activities of the Avengers, who would only act under government wishes. This status quo divides Steve and Tony; Steve does not trust the government after Project Insight and HYDRA and believes the Accords would strip the freedom of the rest of the Avengers, who he believes is fighting for a right cause; they cannot save everybody. Tony disagrees and after his mistakes with Ultron, supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud and the other Avengers are forced to pick a side, two former friends battle it out. After Credits 2: Xavier is in Cerebro and when Colossus is teaching a class, Colossus looks up to the television and sees reports of Tony Stark missing and people mysteriously disappearing out of nowhere, with a reporter from the Daily Bugle disappearing herself. Colossus ends class early and runs to Cerebro to warn Charles. Before he is able to warn Charles, Colossus disappears in ash. Charles looks confused, as Scott and Jean rush over to see what is going on. The two witness as several young mutants around them disappear and Jean and Scott hold hands before disappearing. The camera switches around the X-Mansion, as Warren, Bobby, Kitty, Pietro, Anna, and Logan all disintegrate into ash. Just a day after half of the universe is snapped back into existence, including Peter Parker himself, Peter mourns the grand sacrifice in which Tony made to save the universe; Peter has that burden on his shoulders and feels like he is responsible for Tony's death; so much has happened to Peter in the past few years, but after finishing his Sophomore year, Peter goes on a vacation to Europe with Ned, Mary Jane, Flash Thompson, Betty Brant, and his other classmates; Peter decides he needs a small break from Spider-Man, but still packs his suit anyways. During his crusade in Europe, dangerous elemental-based heroes begin wreaking havoc all throughout the continent, as Peter witnesses a world-renowned hero known as Mysterio, aka Quentin Beck, stop these elemental beings. Spider-Man, with the help of SHIELD, teams up with Mysterio at first to stop these beings, but a revelation is soon revealed; Beck is not who he portrays himself as; Beck is a dark figure who wants to be a hero and because of this, Peter must put everything he has on the table and stop Beck before he destroys all of Europe for fame and reputation...

Spider-Man drops Mary Jane off at her new summer job and swings onto a street lamp. A loud BREAKING NEWS outline plays through a giant television screen, showing the Daily Bugle chief and editor, J. Jonah Jameson, calling Mysterio a hero for stopping all the Elemental beings (unaware that Marko and Dillon actually survived). Jameson shows a clip of Mysterio on the London Bridge panicking, telling his audience that Spider-Man was launching drones and trying to execute all of the citizens of Europe, essentially framing him. Jameson titles the video, "Spider-Man: Threat or Menace?" All of New York is shocked to hear this, but Jameson plays another clip of Mysterio revealing Spider-Man's identity as Peter Parker. Peter looks in horror and the screen cuts to black...
After Credits 2: Nick and Maria are driving to Washington DC and on the way, it is revealed that Maria is a robot and Nick is actually the Chameleon, aka Dmitri Smerdyakov. Smerdyakov calls the Benefactor (Cannon's employer in the second Ant-Man film) and reveals that his motivation for all of this was to find out who Spider-Man was; Mysterio already succeeded at that and the Benefactor says, "Good; our plan is almost in place. The bug will get what's coming to him". The screen then cuts to black...
After Credits 3: After the two manage to escape Beck, Flint and Max are both in the sewers and with Beck dead, all they want now is Spider-Man; Flint reveals he has a few friends back in New York who would love to "play with the Spider". Flint and Max begin their crusade to New York.
Deaths: Morris Bench/Hydro-Man (after the revelation is revealed that Beck kidnapped social worker, Morris Bench, to be his test subject for Hydro-Man, Bench threatens to reveal Beck as an evil instead of a hero; Beck uses an illusion to mess with Bench's mind and gives him a massive heart attack, killing him), Mark Raxton/Molten Man (when Beck and Raxton were secretly communicating their plan to trick France and Spider-Man, Beck tells Spider-Man he will kill Molten Man and possibly sacrifice himself; Raxton ends up being killed by Beck just to make Beck look like a hero, unbeknownst to Spider-Man, until later in the movie, that there was a man behind Molten Man), and Quentin Beck/Mysterio (after Spider-Man confronts Beck and yells at him, telling Beck that he lied to Spider-Man, Beck uses an illusion and tries to shoot Peter in the head, but Peter blocks him. Little does Rider know, Dyker was an old Champion of Xandar who had a falling-out after Thanos decimated their planet. Dyker is ambitious for these crystal-like objects, the ones that turned him into the Diamondhead when he arrived on Earth, which may bring Xandar back... at the cost of the innocent lives on Earth. A month has passed since Peter's identity has been revealed to the world; this past month has been hell for Peter, as Peter becomes a public punching bag for what he allegedly did in Europe when the actions in Europe were really performed by Mysterio. To avoid danger coming to his loved ones like May, MJ, and Ned, Peter skips school constantly and stays at his lawyer's apartment; his lawyer being none other than Matt Murdock, who is also the vigilante known as Daredevil. Peter's only known supporters are Murdock and Captain Jean DeWolffe, the only NYPD officer who still believes in Spider-Man and does not buy anything that Mysterio claimed in the video. Meanwhile, the Benefactor has hired Sergei Kravinoff, the world's greatest and most fearless hunter, to go and hunt Spider-Man down; the Benefactor's identity stays hidden, but he is very determined to take down Peter at all costs. Kravinoff brings in his militia to terrorize New York to try and get Peter to come out of the shadows, even going as far as bringing out his half-brother, who disguises as Spider-Man to beat on Spider-Man's reputation even further and Mac Gargan, who now holds a deadly Scorpion prototype. As this war continues on for almost a year; a hell of a year for Peter Parker; Peter must determine whether or not he is going to become the hunter or the hunted. And how far will Kraven and the Benefactor go to achieve their ultimate goal of ruining Peter's life?

Peter tries to take May's advice, as May pulls up to the campus; May is still not fond of the idea of Peter being Spider-Man, but is supportive nonetheless. A student at the campus yells at Peter, "I knew you weren't Spider-Man! It just didn't seem true!" Peter quietly chuckles and May hugs Peter and tells her to stay in touch with him. Peter hugs her for longer, not wanting to lose her. As May drives away, Peter enters the campus and meets his roommate; his roommate is 21-year-old Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, who is just now starting college. Peter greets him and Johnny says, "You're not really Spider-Man". Peter shakes his head and Johnny says, "Yeah, it's definitely someone else. Mysterio was wack". The screen cuts to black...
After Credits 2: The election votes are in for Mayor of New York; the Mayor title goes to Norman Osborn, the CEO of Oscorp Industries, the company for chemistry and electrical engineering; Oscorp Tower is now standing at the late Avengers/Stark Tower. Osborn says he will do everything to make this city a better place; New York is his home. And he will fight to keep it that way. After Osborn's grand speech and a lot of supporters gaining in on his speech, Osborn talks to someone behind the comms; the comms speaker calls Osborn "the Benefactor", revealing Osborn as the Benefactor all this time...

Just right after Quill recruits Thor to join the Guardians, Quill realizes that his family is now a mess; Drax, Mantis, Charlie, Groot, Rocket, and Nebula are all mourning Tony's death and Gamora is truly dead; this is why Quill goes on a mission to find past Gamora to possibly bring back the old Gamora. Meanwhile, human scientists, having inhabited a rundown planet in the galaxy, contact the Guardians for mission; finding the Infinity Gauntlet and the six stones. The team, already witnessing the powers of the stones and the gauntlet and losing Tony in the midst of this, is hesitant at first, but the scientists promise Quill and the team that they can help the team bring back old Gamora. As the team find the gauntlet and the stones by using a time machine, some of the team realizes that the scientists, who call themselves the Enclave, have something sinister behind the mix. Before they know it, the team finds themselves fighting a soulless being known as Adam Warlock, who can wield the power of the Infinity Stones and proves to be a grave threat. The Enclave is looking to produce more of these beings to out-rule the universe and create the perfect man and the Guardians are on the race against time to stop them...

While this is happening and Lang becomes a target of AIM, a loathsome AIM scientist, after being caught smuggling Pym Particles to the black market, targets the Pyms and Lang. Little does Logan know, the regime has taken the violent man in to resurrect him and turn him into a deadly weapon known as Omega Red; the regime is who Logan is looking for. With Omega Red posing a massive threat, as Omega Red is pure evil and ruthless, Logan must come face-to-face with his worst enemy yet, whilst stopping the regime and all the innocent lives they have holed up in their facility. Reed Richards, an extremely brilliant scientist in his early thirties, spends every waking moment trying to convince NASA to fund his project to go to outer space and collect cosmic particles in the aftermath of Thanos's snap. Reed gets turned down constantly, but that does not stop him. He gathers up the likes of his closest friend, Sue Storm, her younger brother, Johnny Storm, and Reed's best friend from college, Ben Grimm. The four travel to space and collect the dangerous cosmic particles, but ends up in a dangerous cosmic blast; each blast almost kills the four. The four return to Earth only to find out they have all inhibited special abilities; Reed can now stretch his body to supernatural lengths, Sue can turn invisible, Ben is now a rock-like monster with super strength, and Johnny can flame up his body. The four are confused by their powers and none of them want this life; the four travel to the Negative Zone, where they hope to find anti-particles to revert themselves back to their normal selves. However, on their crusade, they encounter the nihilist known as Annihilus, ruler of the Negative Zone. Annihilus attempts to put Earth onto the Negative Zone to increase his power and show Earth what his "people" went through. The four heroes must embrace their powers and defeat Annihilus.

After Credits: T'Challa and Namor both travel to upstate New York, where there is an extremely hidden compound (the compound can turn invisible); T'Challa and Namor are escorted by SHIELD agents and the two encounter Doctor Strange and Charles Xavier; Strange and Xavier both propose a government of superhuman beings to keep the world a safer place, even after the Infinity Stones and Thanos have been eliminated. Namor jokes and tells both Strange and Xavier that this is the reason the Avengers exist; to safeguard humanity. Namor admits he wants to keep Atlantis out of this, but Strange manages to convince him when he tells them of a new enemy coming; the secret government they form will be known as the Illuminati. Just a year after helping Tony and the Avengers defeat Thanos, Carol Danvers wins a Nobel Prize for Bravest Woman in the World; the name, Captain Marvel, becomes an inspiration for many around the world. With her disturbing past with Kree erased and out of her mind, Carol begins protecting not only Earth, but the galaxy as well. Meanwhile, a Los Angeles psychiatrist known as Karla Sofen, calls upon Carol for a helping hand; Carol leads this poor soul out of her depression by guiding her to the light, as Sofen is dissatisfied with her life, especially her financial situation. As Carol begins helping Sofen, Sofen secretly uses an ancient relic known as the Moonstone to power herself, giving her unlimited, but dangerous powers. Sofen believes the way out of depression is thirst for power. Sofen begins proclaiming herself as the new Captain Marvel and as Sofen is essentially Carol's dark reflection, Carol must put an end to Sofen and pave the way for a new generation of superheroes...

Brand is actually talking to Fury, who is on another sublevel in the SWORD ship on bed. Fury crawls out of bed and yells at the other SWORD agents to get back to work.

Story:
The likes of Doctor Strange, Charles Xavier, King T'Challa, and King Namor group together to form the Illuminati, a secret government made up of superhuman beings to help with supernatural and otherworldly threats, as well as worldly threats. The Illuminati meet the Fantastic Four, after Johnny Storm finds out his girlfriend is missing; Strange and Xavier try to convince Reed to join them, as his brilliance could come very handy for this secret group, but Reed is reluctant on joining. The Illuminati work with SWORD and SHIELD to investigate not only the disappearance of Johnny's girlfriend, but multiple people around the globe. This eventually traces the Illuminati to a large group of shapeshifting beings known as the Skrulls. The Illuminati realize the Skrulls have lost their home and the group finds many Skrulls as humans there; the group barely escapes the hands of the Skrulls, as their leader, Admiral Votan, is extremely ruthless and powerful. When the group arrives back on Earth, something is not right; certain people are not acting the same and after a secret revelation of one of their members being a Skrull is revealed, the group, along with other heroes such as the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and the Defenders, must be careful; any of them can be a Skrull; the Skrulls are slowly replacing human beings and are trying to overthrow the Illuminati to create their own government. As the Skrulls crawl into the leadership roles of many leaders around the world, the group must stop this secret invasion from expanding.
