“ | To live among the stars, to rule jungle kingdoms, to guide entire nations, only to find oneself here. A self-loathing man might see this as deserved punishment. A vain man might compare this to the Christian Devil's fall from heaven. Me, I think the coffee's not terrible. I have been known by many names. Max Eisenhardt. Erik Lehnsherr. Magnus. Magneto. Each name marks its own sin. And one day I'll answer for those offenses. But not today. Only my actions... what I do in the name of all mutants... hold any real meaning. | „ |

Magneto (Max Eisenhardt) (/mæɡˈniːtoʊ/) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, the character first appears in The X-Men #1 (cover-dated September 1963) as an adversary of the X-Men.
The character is a powerful mutant, one of a fictional subspecies of humanity born with superhuman abilities, who has the ability to generate and control magnetic fields. Magneto regards mutants as evolutionarily superior to humans and rejects the possibility of peaceful human-mutant coexistence; he initially aimed to conquer the world to enable mutants, whom he refers to as homo superior, to replace humans as the dominant species. Writers have since fleshed out his origins and motivations, revealing him to be a Holocaust survivor whose extreme methods and cynical philosophy derive from his determination to protect mutants from suffering a similar fate at the hands of a world that fears and persecutes mutants. He is a friend of Professor X, the leader of the X-Men, but their different philosophies cause a rift in their friendship at times. Magneto's role in comics has varied from supervillain to antihero to superhero, having served as an occasional ally and even a member of the X-Men at times.
His character's early history has been compared with the civil rights leader Malcolm X and Jewish Defense League founder Meir Kahane. Magneto opposes the pacifist attitude of Professor X and pushes for a more aggressive approach to achieving civil rights. Magneto was ranked by IGN as the Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.
Ian McKellen portrayed Magneto in a majority of the X-Men film series, while Michael Fassbender portrayed a younger version of the character.

Iago PUC's ideas[]
- Magneto appears in Marvel's Spider-Man: Webbed Champion, voiced by David Kaye. Appearing in "City of Heroes, Part 4: More Than Human", he objects to the peace treaty between Mutants and Inhumans, and seeks to exterminate Kit Renner / Werefox out of disgust of her status as a Mutant/Inhuman hybrid. This brings him in conflict with Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Inferno, and X-Men members Iceman and Rogue, as well as Maximus the Mad and William Stryker. Despite taking possession of the remains of Stryker's Slayers to create a robotic body of his own liking, Magneto is defeated by the heroes, who trap him in the molten remains of the Slayers and freeze him in place, allowing Spider-Man to place a inhibitor collar on him to negate his powers. Magneto is then arrested in the Vault.
- Magneto appears in Marvel: All New, All Different Chronicles and its spin-off All New, All Different Mutants, voiced in both by David Kaye.
- Magneto appears in Marvel/DC Heroes Unite!, voiced by David Kaye. A supporting antagonist in the game, he serves as an enemy boss.
- Magneto is a playable character in Marvel Superhero Adventures: Intergalactic Grand Prix, voiced by Jim Meskimen. One of the supervillains participating in the titular racing tournament hosted by the Grandmaster, Magneto owns two karts: the Asteroid M-VII (a hovercar based on Magneto's same name space station) and the Sentinel Slayer (a hovercar made of components of a destroyed Sentinel unit).
