Maddox Monk & Peyton Motes VS. The Apocalypse (also known as The Adventures of Maddox Monk: This is the End of the World as We Know It) is a 2022 post-apocalypse horror comedy teen movie directed by Don Hall, Shawn Levy, Sarah Smith, and Steven Spielberg, starring Caylee Cowan, Lizze Broadway, Zachary Gordon, Jason Drucker, Kai Kadlec, Jack Dylan Grazer, Spencer Fox, Jeremy Saurez, with Justice Jesse Smith and India Eisley. It was a parody connected to 9, Volcano, This is the End, South Park, 28 Days Later, and The Exorcist. This story follows 24 friends who are trapped in the house in Los Angeles devastated by the post-apocalyptic events. Determined to survive the doomsday, Maddox and the gang followed their survival plan and discovered the true meaning of friendship, trust, love, and redemption.
This film is scheduled to be released on Disney+ on November 25th, 2022, and March 7th, 2023 on FXM in the USA.

Plot[]
In June 2024, 16-year-old Peyton Motes arrived in Los Angeles to visit 18-year-old Maddox Monk, who invited her to the host of Ilana Delevieluese's housewarming party at Belk South Park. In the play place, Peyton felt uncomfortable at the crowded party, so Maddox accompanied Peyton to the convenience store to buy some food and root beer. When blue beams sucked numerous people into the sky, Maddox and Peyton fled to Belk and found the party unharmed. As the earthquake strikes, and the crowd rushes outside, witnessing a sinkhole opening in the front yard. Several young adults and party guests are killed as Maddox, Peyton, Simon Hershey, Vincent Boyer, Nathaniel Lewis, Luxo Jr., Paxel, Spaxer, Maxo, and Luna Jr. all ran back inside the South Park mall in Belk where Peyton tells the remaining partygoers that the earthquake had destroyed most of Los Angeles. They took inventory of their supplies, set up a ration system, boarded up the mall, and waited for help.
The next morning, Michael Norris, who crashed the party and fell asleep, woke up first and wasted the group's food and water due to his ignorance of the crisis. He disbelieved that the others told him about the events of the previous night until AUTO gets decapitated by an unseen creature outside. Anxieties rise due to the various conflicts, including Maddox and Peyton's growing estrangement and the other's doubtfulness of Peyton's belief that the natural disasters are the Apocalypse predicted in the Book of Revelation. Melanie Witte makes her way into the mall. However, she believes that the group is planning to rape her and leaves with the groups remaining water due to a misunderstanding.
Nate goes for the water stored in the basement, but he encounters an unknown being, causing to believe Peyton's theory. Maddox and Peyton dug through the floor and found water, but Michael wastes most of it out of spite, others kick him out of the mall. Before leaving, Michael reveals that Peyton was in town 2 months prior but stayed at the hotel instead of Maddox because of their strained relationship. Simon annoyed Peyton, who punched him in the face. That night, Simon prays for Peyton to die and is possessed by a demon. The possessed Simon Hershey attacked Maddox and Ilana, but Nate and Peyton subdued Simon and tied him up. During the exorcism attempt, Maddox and Peyton fought and knocked over the candle, starting the fire that engulfs Simon and Belk, forcing the others outside.
Ilana suggests going back to North Carolina, but finds her car guarded by an Ender Dragon. Nate and Vincent volunteered to sacrifice themselves and were raptured into heaven alongside Luxo Jr. and his lamp friends when their plan succeeded; the others realized they can save themselves by performing a selfless act. On the way out of Los Angeles, The three encountered vicious cannibals led by Michael and his love interest and sex slave, Laysha Luna. When Ilana volunteered to sacrifice herself, the blue beam began to pull her to Heaven, but when Ilana taunted and insulted Michael, the beam vanished, and Michael and his fellow cannibals eat Ilana alive while Maddox and Peyton fought the cannibals out to escape and encounter MechaGigan. Peyton apologized to Maddox for her wrongdoings and they both share an embrace while MechaGigan attempts to smash them. A beam struck Peyton, she began to ascend while Maddox didn't. Peyton grabbed Maddox's hand, but Maddox's presence prevented them from ascending into Heaven. Maddox forced Peyton to leave him behind, after which another beam appears around Maddox.
The pair arrived in heaven, they reunited with Nate, Vincent, Luxo Jr., and their friends, who told them that any wish came true. After Peyton wished for The Living Tombstone, the music performed "Five Nights at Freddy's 1 Song" as Maddox and all of his clan in Heaven danced.

Frightening and Intense Scenes- Severe | (6)
- Much more violent, gory, darker, and scarier than This is the End, Bendy and the Dark Revival, Watership Down (which was PG-rated), and South Park.
- MechaGigan was about 492 feet tall, that would be intimidating. Maybe inappropriate for viewers under 14.
- It's a PG-13 movie before the R-rating. Disney+ has updated mature content for 18+ and released R-rated films instead of NC-17.
- The PG rating has been outdated (it was questionable during the theatrical release). It contains a bit of sex, mild language, strong violence, and depictions of urban disaster and serious injuries. It probably might receive a PG-13 rating on Disney+ if made today. If not, maybe rated R.
- Fighting scenes, natural disaster depictions, hostile monsters and demons from Hell, and apocalyptic events may be too frightening for younger kids.
- Contains flashing lights, loud noises, and jumpscares.
