Lyndis (Japanese: リンディス Lindis), more commonly known as Lyn (Japanese: リン Lin), is one of the Heroines from the Fire Emblem series, making her a Playable Guest Character and one of the two Fire Emblem guests along with Marth for the Nintendo Switch port of Soul Calibur VI.

Normal Moves

Whenever Lyn is idle, she carries her katanas in her sheath. So in order to attack she must quickly unsheathe the swords, which doesn’t take as long as it sounds but adds a unique animation to her attacks as she sheaths her katanas after attacking.

A – Lyn unsheathes one katana half way and slams the hilt of the sword forward.

AAA – Lyn slams the hilt of her sword forward, then takes out her katana and delivers a diagonal slash, followed by a flurry of sword slashes, and finishing the combo off by unsheathing her second katana and delivering a large “X” slash with the two swords.

A Left/Right- Lyn quickly swipes horizontally with her katana before sheathing it.

A Dash- Lyn grabs her sword and vanishes for a moment, then quickly appears a few lengths in front of where she just was and releases a mighty upward diagonal slash.

A Up- Lyn swipes upward at an arc with one katana.

A Down- Lyn slashes forward and then backward while crouching.

Smash Left/Right- Lyn slashes her sword so quickly it creates an “X” slash mark in the air and holds opponents in it for a moment. She then quickly takes out her second sword and stabs forward with both of them.

Smash Up- Lyn leaps in the air and delivers a flurry of rapid slashes with her katana.

Smash Down- Lyn delivers a powerful slashing attack to both sides of her with two katanas.

Aerial Neutral- Lyn takes out one katana and performs a quick triple front flip slash.

Aerial Forward- Lyn propels herself forward slightly as she delivers 3 zig-zag slashes with one katana.

Aerial Backward- Lyn takes out both katanas and holds them backwards so she can stab behind her under her arms.

Aerial Down- Lyn slices downward in a “U” shape.

Aerial Up- Lyn takes out both katanas and slashes them in opposite directions in an arc upward.

Soul Charge Moves

Reinfleche- Lyn takes out the mighty bow Reinfleche and utilizes it for her neutral special. Unlike other bow and arrow specials, you cannot charge this special to make it stronger. Instead, Lyn takes out a bow and twirls it in her hand, she then pulls back the bow. After releasing B (you can hold B to wait to attack, but it doesn’t charge) Lyn releases the arrow straight through the air with pinpoint accuracy. The bow attack has a bit of startup lag, but its speed and DMG output make it well worth the startup. The arrow attack also has a shield shattering effect to it, and travels about as far as Pit’s arrow does. Lyn is left wide open while using the bow though from the back, so watch out!

Mani Katti Slash- Very similar to her assist trophy attack in her Super Smash Bros. appearances, but slightly altered. Lyn takes a defensive stance with her Mani Katti blade as a shadow appears at the ground. Holding side B will cause the shadow to move forward swiftly over a long distance of ground. Releasing side B will cause Lyn to quickly vanish and deliver a strong diagonal sword slash with her blade. The attack leaves Lyn open for opponents to attack her and has a bit more lag to its startup and has lag after she strikes where she sheathes her blade, but it deals impressive DMG and deals extra if you manage to attack an opponent from behind.

Lethal Hit Counter

Illusion Counter- Lyn takes out both of her katanas and holds them upside down in front of her in an “X” formation in a counter pose. If an opponent makes contact with Lyn, she quickly vanishes, and you have a moment to input one of 8 different directional inputs by moving the analog stick. As the direction is being chosen (you have a short timeframe, about as long as Greninja’s counter) 4 illusions of Lyn in a defensive position can be seen circling the opponent(s) being countered. After picking a direction, Lyn delivers a two katana counter slash.

Critical Edge

Critical Hit- Similar to her fellow Guest Fighter for the Nintendo Switch port of Soul Calibur VI, Marth, her Critical Edge consists of her taking out both of her katanas and dashing forward to the edge of the stage she is on in an attempt to slash at an opponent. The animation for her Critical Edge is very unique compared to Marth's, as if Lyn makes contact she delivers 5 rapid slashes to opponents that looks as if she is vanishing and reappearing all around the opponent in the blink of an eye. Along with that, her final hit which deals the critical hit animation and the knockback is delivered behind the opponent from where they first were hit, which of course sends them in the direction that the final smash was initiated at. Lyn then sheaths her katanas as the opponents are sent flying.

Stage

Dragon's Gate, in which originated from the game of her origin (albeit rendered in 3D/CGI form, complete with updated visuals and such), serves as her Stage.
