Life Is Strange: The Guardian is an upcoming 2026 American superhero film based on the video game franchise of the same name, developed by Square Enix, and Marvel Comics, co-produced by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It's the direct sequel to Chronicle and the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. In this film, Matt Garetty comes back to life and will meet his new young allies but also a powerful enemy. Matt and his friends will have to face this danger to save the world. Matt doesn't know it yet but his powers weren't chosen by chance.
Synopsis[]
Many years have passed since the violent attack on Seattle and two years since The Kang Invasion. Superhumans are now hunted down and eliminated indiscriminately in order to preserve the peace. A group of scientists try to produce superhuman soldiers and push the limits of technology beyond what they can control. Chase Miller, a young genius handyman, one day unearths an old skeleton that has transformed into a human body and turns out to be Matt Garetty. From then on, Chase drew the wrath of the CIA, which never stopped tracking him and his family. Invictus, a superhuman bounty hunter under the orders of his creators, is about to emerge from the shadows with an army. Matt and his new and young allies, with or without powers, will be the only hope to defeat this army. What Matt doesn't know is that these powers weren't chosen by chance.

- Invictus: Invictus is the main antagonist.
- Harold Attinger: He is a highly decorated CIA administrator and the founder of the agency's black ops unit, Cemetery Wind, who sough to exterminate all Superhumans from the Earth; so much so that Attinger even went as far as to work alongside Invictus in order to accomplish his goals.
- James Savoy: He is a ruthless, corrupt and sociopathic CIA agent who served as the second in-command of the agency's black ops unit known as Cemetery Wind, as well as being the second in-command of Harold Attinger. Furthermore, he is the arch-rival of Chase Miller.
Major Characters[]
- Ana Garetty: She is Matt's mom, who was secretly an Angel and escaped from her universe to have a normal life, she fled to be able to protect her son and was found dead.
- America Chavez: She's a multiverse traveler and Matt's alternate self. While trapped and bound by Scarlett Witch, she finds herself thrown alone into another universe where she meets her young alternate self.

- Steph Gingrich: She is Chloe's longtime friend and Alex's potential love interest.
- Jade Whitman: She is Sam's cold mother and Chief of Seattle Police Department.
- Lucas Flannery: He is the colleague and friend of Chase Miller. He bought a skeleton for Chase, which later turned out to be Matt Garetty.

On May 25, 2007, it was announced that The Sims film rights had been purchased by 20th Century Fox. At that time, not much was known about the film, besides that, it was to be written by Brian Lynch, the man responsible for writing movies such as Scary Movie 3 and writing and directing the 1999 film Big Helium Dog. The film was to be produced by John Davis, responsible for films such as Norbit and Eragon. He revealed in an interview that he is taking inspiration from John Hughes' 1985 film Weird Science for the movie adaptation.[1]

However, the film didn't get into production and was on hold until it was officially canceled by Disney on August 10, 2019, after acquiring 20th Century Fox. But in June 2017, two years before the cancellation of the Fox version of the film, Warner Bros. Pictures purchased the film rights for The Sims from Electronic Arts, and they're planning to make an animated feature-length film based on The Sims games under the Warner Animation Group banner.

Following the success of the film, Matt Reeves expressed interest to create a Life is Strange's franchise. In May, it was announced that Matt Reeves and Jean-Maxime Moris (co-founder of the game Life is Strange) have the green light for several films, so spin-offs, prequels, sequels and series with Theo Martin (Mike's potrayal), and rests of cast reprise their respective roles. A prequel is in development focusing the Young Avengers' season finale of Season 2. It will focusing on a young Matt and America Chavez in a dark new adventure against a "young Invictus". Theo Martin and Chad Stahelski confirms that they will be producers. Xochitl Gomez confirms that will be "the end of America Chavez' era" and the beginning of "The Guardian".
