Revision as of 23:01, 4 August 2020
Kyo Kusanagi is one of the iconic Playable representatives from the King of Fighters series, being a Playable Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Fighter after being a spirit and appearing as one of the Background Fighters for the King of Fighters Stadium.
Moveset
Some ideas for gimmicks came from this: [1]
Kyo is a heavy-weight character who has a high running speed, low jumps/gravty and somewhat fast falling speeds for wide, quick dash jumps.
His attacks are able to chain/cancel into each other, allowing him to use an another attack when hitting an opponent to rack up huge amounts of damage in little time. However, this will be harder to do when an opponent's percentage rises.
Gimmicks/Mechanics
Like Ryu, Ken and Terry, Kyo always faces his opponents automatically in matches. He also has access to command inputs, a dodge attack (like a latter), a back special move and super special moves (in Kyo's case, Desperation Moves).
By holding both "shield" and "special" buttons at the same time, Kyo will perform a pose to charge up power and a meter above his HUD. When full, Kyo will enter MAX Mode for 10 seconds, making his attacks do more damage and give him access to Desperation Moves before reaching 100% damage (though their damage will be improved when around 100%).

Losing Pose
Victory Theme
A remix of the victory theme from The King of Fighters '94, likely shared with Athena Asamiya.
Stage
Just like his fellow King of Fighters playable representative Terry, he would have one stage (but with 50 songs or more included from SNK's vast library).
Antonov Super Arena
The Antonov Super Arena (originating from The King of Fighters '96 and The King of Fighters XIV), would serve his Stage (complete with some Cameo appearances from Everyone else included). An outdoor stage area surrounded by packed grandstands and cameras both on the ground and raised above the fight via boom arms. In the background a platform can be seen, in which this is where the winning Fighter would be seen in a Victory cutscene where he/she is in it.
Classic Mode: A Flaming Smash Saga
Similar to Terry's classic mode, it would be him mostly pitting against Teams forming a Trio of Fighters.
Opponents
- Solid Snake, Fox and a Blue Haired Female Wii Fit Trainer (Stage: Kongo Falls)
- A Dark Skinned Little Mac, a Dark Skinned Male Wii Fit Trainer and a Dark Skinned Male Mii Brawler (Stage: New Donk City)
- Greninja, Rosalina and Lucina (Stage: Coliseum)
- Bowser, Ganondorf and Ridley (Stage: Mushroomy Kingdom)

Alternate Costumes
Unlike other characters, who usually have 8 palettes, Kyo will have more palettes for each of his costumes.
Reveal Trailer
Kyo's trailer will be a continuation of Terry's reveal trailer with Terry facing against Ryu and Ken at the King of Fighters Stadium, before finally joining him after catching a letter with his ignited hand and using his Final Smash to knock both of them down. It also references Kyo and Terry being rivals to Ryu and Ken in the Capcom vs. SNK/SNK vs. Capcom games that are released during the turn of the Millennium.
