Kira Kaeru (きり かえる Kiri Kaeru) is the legendary Console Patron Unit (CPU) of Planeptune. She is the personalification of Nintendo Switch and under nickname "Goddess of Destruction".
She serves as the main antagonist of her titular game, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Goddess of Destruction.
Biography[]
The origins of her is unknown, as she's got sealed away in the Heart Dimension when her power is far too dangerous against the people of Gamindustri. Two years later, after the CPUs stop Kurome's plans and merged with Uzume, she broke free from her crystal prison. After her eternal slumber, she awoken to a new world. Her main objective is exterminate every last CPUs and turned their world into dust.
Appearance[]
Despite her age, she resembles as a young little girl, with glowing crimson red eyes, and dark brown shaggy long-braided hair. Her outfit is similar to Blanc from Ultra Dimension, but her main color is black, and has enhanced armored gloves, shoulder pads and her legs covered with armor with glowing blue lines. She has flaming feathered wings, resembling the phoenix. Under her armored gloves are her arm wrapped with bandages with sharp white nails.
On her crest from her cloak is an emblem of a Nintendo Switch.
Personality[]
Kira is a stoic goddess who enjoys studying and destroying countless worlds.
She is disgusted of Rei Ryghts and Kurome's way of destroying Hyper Dimension, stated that she wants to destroy the Hyper Dimension alone and has no intentions whether the CPUs are good or evil.
Etymology[]
Kaeru is Japanese for the word "switch" (or "to change"). The name was the perfect example from the console name "Nintendo Switch".
The initials NX for Ragnarok N-X was a development codename for Nintendo Switch.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown if she have connections with Blanc, Ram, and Rom, due to all three consoles were made by Nintendo.
- The main colors of her physical design are black, red, and blue.
- Her appearance was based on Lambda-11 and Nu-13 from BlazBlue series.
- She was voiced by Kira Buckland (English) and Yukari Tamura (Japanese) respectively, the same two voice actresses who voiced Chou-Chou from Mugen Souls and Talim from Soulcalibur VI.
- Buckland also voices 2B from NieR: Automata, Toki from Time and Eternity, Ethel from Fairy Fencer F, Falke from Street Fighter V, and Marie from Skullgirls.
- Yukari also voices Ruru from Hugtto PreCure!, and Tenten from Naruto series.
