The films score is influenced by the music scores of James Horner (like Jumanji, the 1998 remake Mighty Joe Young and Avatar). The film will be composed by Simon Franglen (who is James Horner's frequent collaborator and successor).




  • This film will be set in the year 1977 making it the third King Kong film to be set in the 1970's, along with the 1976 remake and Kong: Skull Island.
  • Ann Darrow would be portrayed as an African-American woman in this film instead of a blonde Caucasian woman like in previous incarnations.
  • The locations of Skull Island are modeled after Vietnam, Canada, Hawaii, and Florida.
