Justice League: Origins is an Max Original movie that served as the series premier to the television series, Justice League of America where Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman team up with several other superheroes to save the world from Darkseid and the White Martians. Set within the DC Maxverse.
It serves as reimagined retold adaption of DCAU's Justice League: Secret Origins.

4 Astronauts have arrived on Mars to explore the terrain. A green alien curiously observes them from the shadows when a portal appeared before them and a squad a Parademons came forth and attacked 2 of the Astronauts while the remaining two flee into a cave, leading to an underground catacomb, at the end of which is a massive, ornate door with unknown markings. The surviving two pry the door with a pickaxe only when the heard the Parademons getting closer, they put the axe in the lock. As the Parademons arrived, the door opens and suddenly halted. A massive shadowy figure emerges, reaching out for the two survivors...
Five years later, after making a brief trip to the outskirts of Metropolis, Batman was investigating three scientists at a satellite communications facility operated by Wayne Tech. As he watches, they exchange amiable good-byes with their co-workers, but as soon as they are alone, begin conversing in an alien language and tampering with the equipment. Batman appears and attempts to subdue them, but each of them fight back with amazing speed and strength. Batman corners one on top of the roof dish, but it turns the tables on him. Then Superman and Wonder Woman arrive and send it running. Before they could deal with them, Superman sees strange images in his mind and rendered unconscious. Diana catches him as the three mysterious scientists detonate the satellite. As Batman watches the three scientists survived, they twisted their bodies back to normal and healed their wounds then escape into the night.
The three heroes shared a greeting; three years had passed since General Zod's defeat, Superman has been reeling of letting Lois Lane go after having to erase her memories to save her life from the fatal wound from Zod and had been taking indefinite leave of absence from the Daily Planet as Clark Kent to focus being Superman. Diana has been doing well and has been unable to track down Veronica Cale but wonders if Batman is still in the minority. He explains that this station is the latest in a series that has been sending strange, encrypted signals into space. Superman and Wonder Woman offer his help, but Batman declines. Superman hands him a communicator to use in case he needs help; Batman is skeptical but keeps it anyway and places it in his utility belt then leaves in the Batwing. Diana, concerned, gives him a small pep talk that she understands what he's been going through, she reminds him that he's not alone anymore; that she and Bruce will always be there for him when the world is needed the most. Superman thanked Diana for her kind words. He then gives her a communicator and they both left separately.
The next morning in Philadelphia, Billy Batson wakes up and gets ready for school with the rest of his foster family after breakfast, Mary Bromfield, Freddy Freeman, Darla Dudley, Eugene Choi, and Pedro Peña. Along the way, Billy sees a miserly old man at the crosswalk and helps him getting across the street. After he left to catchup with the others, the old man had a suspicious grin. Billy, Mary, Freddy, Darla, Eugene, Pedro were all having lunch at Fawcett Central School's cafeteria when the television monitors broadcasts news in the nation's capitol of Washington D.C., where Allen Rhodes, one the four astronauts from the Mars expedition and now a U.S. Senator, proposes a bold plan for total nuclear disarmament. He champions Superman as Earth's protector, believing that the Man of Steel is both reliable and more than capable of handing any threat to the Earth. He praises him, Batman and Wonder Woman for their acts of heroism from their battle with General Zod and Imperiex. Superman embraces the idea, despite protests from the military and other sources. These even include other heroes, such as Green Lantern, Aquaman, Zatanna and Flash from Central City. At Stryker's Island, Lex Luthor in his prison cell sneered at the news of the country's praising for Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
Meanwhile on the planet Apokolips, Darkseid questioned Desaad as to what he had to report from their agents on Earth. Darkseid was notified by Desaad that heroes were springing up everywhere on Earth, and as such, they would soon lose their element of surprise. After Desaad suggested that Darkseid move his timetable for invading Earth, Darkseid agreed, contact their "allies" and commencing the final phase of the invasion.
As Superman works to disarm the world's nuclear weapons, Wonder Woman meets up with her friends Steve Trevor and Etta Candy in Washington D.C.. They explained to her that with the increasing appearance of metahumans and after metropolis, the government had created an agency to undertake research and responsibilities, the Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans, aka ARGUS, though Diana was unaware of this. As they walk through the construction of their mobile HQ, Diana really came to them if they have any information of Veronica Cale's whereabouts, a voice replies that she is still underground. As they enter the bridge, Diana was greeted by another familiar face, Sasha Bordeaux, whom was appointed as the Director of ARGUS by the President of the United States. Sasha informs her that ARGUS new flying mobile headquarters, the Arclight will be complete in two more weeks and assures her that they'll not rest until Cale is brought to justice. Sasha called Diana because she, and Steve wanted to show her something they had difficulties of taking down. Sasha presented Diana a deceased Parademon in a specimen tank. which they encountered it a week ago in the sewers of Keystone City while planting an unknown device. Before it died, it uttered the "For Darkseid."
At night, Batman continues his investigation. He traces the three imposter scientists to a warehouse in Metropolis, where he discovers the three real scientists, unconscious inside alien-like cocoons. He then spots one of the imposter scientist in the next room which transforms into a tall white alien talking to a larger cloaked figure which gives the alien an unknown device. The alien quickly spotted Batman in the shadows and attacks, the large figure was revealed to be a Parademon and joins the fight. Batman is outmatched, and calls for help using his signal watch.
Superman and Wonder Woman arrives, who manages to save Batman, and destroys the Parademon. Batman takes the unknown device with him. Three of them watch as a meteor comes down from the sky and crashes into the heart of Metropolis. From the creator, a massive alien tripod-like walker emerges, and without preamble makes its hostility clear: it begins attacking the police and fire units nearby. More meteors from space crash, more machines emerge. followed by waves of Parademons. Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman throw everything they had them. ARGUS agents arrive on the scene and used their weaponry but to no avail. Superman was blasted and hit hard against a building and then buried in rubble and Diana helped him up to see if he's okay. While preparing to fight the aliens again, Superman suffered a psychic migraine. He the realizes something and flies off with Wonder Woman following him with concern.
The world goes into a full wide panic about the new alien invasion with other heroes fighting off the invaders. In Atlantis, Arthur Curry, Aquaman senses the surface world is under attack and informs his wife/queen, Mera that they need him and before he leaves, Mera hands him the Trident of Poseidon for battle. Zatanna fights off few of the Parademons when she gets a telepathic message and magically teleports away. Billy Batson was outside when a Parademon appears and lunges at him just as he shouts SHAZAM and transforms into his adult avatar Shazam to quickly destroys it and flies off.
Batman flies off after Superman and Wonder Woman, tracking them to an army military base where they find a green skinned alien being held prisoner. After Superman frees him, the alien shifts into a human like appearance and introduces himself as J'onn J'onzz. Before he can tell his story to them, they have to leave the facility. the four heroes are surrounded by a group of military soldiers. Superman tries to explain to them, but the soldiers morph into their true white skinned alien forms and aimed their weapons on the heroes and demanded them to turn over J'onn.
As they fight off the aliens, Superman, Batman, Diana and J'onn flee the base with their attackers pursuing them until they were dealt with by the timely arrival of five more heroes: Green Lantern - Hal Jordan, The Flash, Aquaman, Zatanna and Shazam. After returning to an Argus command centre in Metropolis and telling Sasha and Steve that J'onn is on their side, he explains his story: over five hundred years ago on the planet Mars, his peaceful race the Green Martians were attacked by their invasive race. the White Martians arose from beneath the surface and wiped Green Martians, including his family. J'onn was a sole survivor of small band of rebels to incapacitate the White Martians then placed then in suspended animation for thousands of years. After awakening from his hibernation cycle, astronauts had revived the White Martians who were chased by the very flying creatures know known as Parademons. With the Green Martians now extinct, the White Martians set their sights to Earth. J'onn attempted to warn Earth of the coming threat but was capture. He further explains that while he held captive, the White Martians had sent scouts to sabotage Earth's defenses while the Parademons planted many Mother boxes.

Continuity[]
