In 2019, Disney Television Animation announced that they are making a revival season of the show that will air on both Disney Channel and Disney+ at the same time, being expected to premiere on February 12th, 2021.

Disney's decision to air the series simultaneously on its flagship cable channel and its streaming service is especially to not deprive cable viewers from the show TBD. Despite airing first on Disney+, the revival is still labeled as a Disney Channel original.

The voice cast for the series is expected to return to reprise their respective roles, save for Ripper, due to Mako Iwamatsu's passing in 2006, and Yonk, due to René Auberjonois' passing in 2019, being recasted with Greg Baldwin and Jeff Bennett, respectively.

  • This is Disney's second attempt to create a surreal cartoon in the likes of Nickelodeon's The Ren and Stimpy Show, Hanna-Barbera's 2 Stupid Dogs and Cartoon Network's Cow and Chicken/I Am Weasel after the short-lived The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show in 1995 and followed by Brandy and Mr. Whiskers in 2004.
  • Although Howie having the hots for Foxy, some fans prefer to pair him with Deena due to their odd chemistry.
  • The series has some cutaway gags.
  • This is the first animated Disney Channel original series.
