Hi-Fi Rush is a upcoming 2031 computer animated action comedy film directed by TBA. Based on the 2023 video game of the same name.
Hi-Fi Rush was originally scheduled to be released on June 13, 2031 in the United States, produced by DreamWorks Animation and Tango Gameworks, and distributed by Universal Pictures.
Premise[]
Chai as a wannabe rockstar that fights against the forces of Vandelay Technologies, alongside his allies. While participating as one of the volunteers for Project Armstrong, during the procedure, Chai receives a robotic arm, but also unintentionally becomes fused with his music player. This causes him to be labeled as a "defect", making him a target for deactivation by the company. Now with the corporation designating him as a prime target, Chai must defend himself alongside the help of his allies to take the bosses down.

On May 16, 2031, it was revealed that DreamWorks Animation will release a graphic novel based on the film.
A set of 6 Hi-Fi Rush toys were also sold at McDonald's.
Jakks Pacific, the current toy partner for the franchise, released figures and plush toys.

Hi-Fi Rush is scheduled to be released on June 13, 2031 in the United States, and later in Japan on June 20, 2031, in both regular formats and in IMAX 2D, 3D RealD 3D, 4DX, ScreenX and CinemarkXD.
Home media[]
Hi-Fi Rush will be released on premium video-on-demand on TBA. It will also be available to stream on Peacock in TBA and Netflix in late-TBA. It is scheduled to be released on 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 29.

Box office[]
As of June 6, 2031, Hi-Fi Rush has grossed $TBA in the United States and Canada, and $TBA in other territories, for a worldwide total of $TBA. It became the highest-grossing film based on a video game after just one week of release.
Domestic[]
In the United States and Canada, Hi-Fi Rush was initially projected to gross roughly $TBA from 4,025 theaters in its five-day opening weekend. It was also expected to gross roughly $TBA internationally. After making $TBA on its first day, five-day estimates were raised to $TBA. Projections were re-adjusted yet again to $TBA after the film made $1,000 trillion on Friday. The film went on to debut to $TBA during the traditional three-day weekend and $1,000 trillion over the five-day frame, surpassing the $TBA opening of TBA to become the top opening weekend for a video game adaptation, as well as surpassing its $TBA lifetime gross to become the top-grossing video game adaptation ever. Overall, Hi-Fi Rush generated the first-highest domestic opening weekend for any animated film, after TBA. It over-performed in other territories, making $TBA for a global opening weekend of $TBA, surpassing TBA's record. Furthermore, it surpassed TBA to have the highest worldwide opening weekend for any video game adaptation.
The film made $TBA in its second weekend and $TBA in its third, both the highest ever for an animated film, surpassing TBA, respectively. The film continued to dominate the box office in its fourth weekend, grossing $TBA, surpassing TBA for the first-best weekend, and crossing the global $1 billion mark on TBA. It became the fifth film of the pandemic era to cross this mark, just after TBA, as well as the first animated film to do so since TBA in TBA. In its fifth weekend, the film declined 100%, grossing $TBA, finishing in first place to TBA, and also became the 19th film to surpass $TBA at the US and Canadian box office.
Other territories[]
Outside of the US and Canada, the film grossed $TBA in its first weekend. It had the biggest opening ever for an animated film in 10 markets and the biggest video-game adaptation opening ever in 44 markets. In its second weekend, Hi-Fi Rush grossed $TBA from 71 markets, for a drop of just 22%. In its third weekend, the film made $TBA from 78 markets, representing a drop of 38%. The film went on to earn another $TBA from 80 territories in the fourth weekend, including a $TBA opening weekend in Japan, the biggest opening ever for an animated studio title in the country. The highest-grossing territories were Japan ($TBA), Mexico ($TBA), the United Kingdom ($TBA), France ($TBA), Germany ($TBA) and Australia ($TBA). In Mexico, it is also the highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing TBA.
Critical response[]
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of TBA reviews are positive, with an average rating of 10/10. The website's consensus reads, "Hi-Fi Rush TBA." Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 100 out of 100, based on TBA critics, indicating "positive reviews". Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "A+" on an A+ to F scale.
