- This short film is similar to Pokémon: Pikachu, What's This Key?
- Nature Cat's owners are seen at the start and near the end in this short, but their faces are not shown. In addition, Nature Cat's voice actor (Taran Killam) narrates what goes on during the short film.
- This short was released while Nature Cat was still in it's 1st season. Hal is also shown as the main focus in this short for the first time.
- In one scene, Ronald tells Bad Dog Bart and Cruiser some of the events from the Nature Cat episode There's Gold in Them Thar Hills.
- Fred the magical cat appears for the first time in this short. He would reappear again in Nature Cat's Imagination Extraordinaire, a 2024 animated short film.
- Nature Dog appears as a mystical creature in this short and has a different voice actor (Emily Lynne) instead of Cobie Smulders. The same goes for Mythical Flo the Heron, who usually gets voiced by Rachel Dratch and Cruiser who is usually voiced by Joey Mazzarino. Instead, Peter Linz provided the voice of Cruiser. Also, Bad Dog Bart's magical version is voiced by Joey Mazzarino and Magical Hal is voiced by David Rudman instead of Bobby Moynihan in this short film.
