Game of Magic is an upcoming American adult animated television series Powerhouse Animation Studios and Rooster Teeth Animation. It is based on the japanese manga Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima and A Song of Ice and Fire novel series by George R.R. Martin. The series features an ensemble voice cast Ludi Lin, Cherami Leigh, Tia Ballard, Dacre Montgomery, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Daniel J. Edwards, Alex Cazares, Lara Jill Miller, Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Nathalie Emmanuel, James Cosmo and Oona Chaplin.

It is set stream on Netflix.

Premise

Based on both the manga and George R.R. Martin's novel series, On the continents of Westeros and Essos five powerful kingdoms Winterfell, The Eyrie, the Stormland, the Iron Islands, and Dorne strive to maintain peace in their homelands, while the sixth Kingdom of Fiore, home to numerous guilds of wizards apply their magic for paid job requests and to serve the five kingdoms Navin Dragneel, adoptive son of Eddard Stark along with Lucy Heartfilia, debutante of the a wealthy family, Happy, a cat-like fairy journey to find the dragon Igneel, as well as helping his companions defend the kingdoms from enemies past and present.

Development

Netflix teamed up with Rooster Teeth Animation and Powerhouse Animation Studios to created a TV-MA anime-influnced adaptation of the manga that also adapts and combines characters/elements from A Song of Ice and Fire, Sam Deats, Adam Deats and Spencer Wan from that series direct the episodes, Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides will showrun the series.

Animation

The animation style will be a cross between Castlevania and Avatar: The Last Airbender Studio Mir and Digital eMation in South Korea will provide animation services, animators from Castlevania including Deats, Wan, Angela Mueller as character designers with Daniel Araya and Isaak Ramos as background designers.

Writing

Various writers from Seis Manos, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, plus some of the writer from Game of Thrones have all come together in the writers room.

Music

Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, The Strain and Jack Ryan) were brought on by Montgomery and Dos Santos to score the series, music from Game of Thrones as well as the The Lord of the Rings will be incorporated.

Casting

Meredith Layne will cast and voice direct the series returning cast members from Fairy Tail include Cherami Leigh as Lucy Heartfilia, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Erza Scarlet and Tia Ballard as Happy, Game of Thrones Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Nathalie Emmanuel, James Cosmo and Oona Chaplin will reprise their roles as some-what different versions of their characters from the series with Power Rangers stars Ludi Lin as Navin Dragneel and Dacre Montgomery as Gryson Fulmeinse Daniel J. Edwards as Ezra Scarlet Erza's twin brother, Alex Cazares as Wendy Marvell and Lara Jill Miller.
