This idea is a joke.

Foodfight! vs. the Emoji Movie is a 2028 American computer-animated science fiction comedy film directed by Josh FoodFiege and Tony Leondis, produced by Sony Pictures Animation, and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film is a sequel to 2025’s Foodfight!: The Next Chapter, which is the third film in the Foodfight! franchise originally distributed by Lionsgate, and serves as a crossover with 2017’s universally panned The Emoji Movie. Produced by Seth Rogen and Leondis and written by Leondis, FoodFiege, and Mike White from a story by FoodFiege, Leondis, and Rogen, the film stars Charlie Sheen, TJ Miller, Hilary Duff, Anna Faris, James Corden, Wayne Brady, Larry Miller, Maya Rudolph, James Arnold Taylor, Patrick Stewart, Robert Constanzo, Steven Wright, Jennifer Coolidge, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Chastain, and Jeffrey Wright. In the film, set a few years after the events of The Next Chapter, a new altercation in the Multiverse causes The Emoji Movie universe and it’s characters to fuse with the Foodfight! Universe, causing a conflict between the two factions. But soon, the two franchises will have to team up and make peace with each other to take down FoodMoji (Cranston), an Ike/Emoji hybrid who teams up with Lady X (Longoria) and Smiler (Rudolph) to conquer the two universes.
A sequel to Foodfight!: The Next Chapter was announced in 2026 after the film’s success. While talking about ideas, one of the film’s writers and producers, Seth Rogen, jokingly said that they should make a crossover between Foodfight! and The Emoji Movie (2017). However they thought the idea was actually so genius that they decided to make it the actual story for the film. Leondis, the director of The Emoji Movie, and Mike White, the co-writer of said film, were hired to help with the film, and the voice cast of that film also returned. Due to the idea for a crossover between two differently-distributed animated films, the project went through many licensing setbacks before production could begin; Sony Pictures, the distributor for The Emoji Movie, eventually negotiated to distribute the film as a whole, with Lionsgate owning the rights of the previous films and getting associate credit, making it the first Foodfight! film to not be solely distributed by Lionsgate. The film was produced through Sony Pictures Animation, who coincidentally animated The Next Chapter.
Foodfight! vs. the Emoji Movie was theatrically released on July 28, 2028, 11 years after the release of The Emoji Movie. The film grossed $285 million and received generally positive reviews from critics, praising the concept.

Additionally, Vin Diesel and Robert Downey Jr. make uncredited cameo appearances as Rhys and Rob, reprising their roles from Lionsgate’s The Peppa Pig Movie and Peppa Pig: World War, after Sheen reprised his role as Dex in the ending scene of World War, ahead of the three characters returning in the third Peppa Pig film, Peppa Pig: Cartoon Wars.
Future[]
In 2026, prior to the film’s announcement, in the ending of Lionsgate’s Peppa Pig: World War, Charlie Sheen made an uncredited cameo appearance as Dex, with the scene leading up to the direct sequel to World War, Peppa Pig: Cartoon Wars, with Sheen reprising his role and the film serving as a big-scale crossover with multiple animated franchises. While Cartoon Wars would release in 2029, Foodfight vs. the Emoji Movie was released on 2028. The announcement of the film caused confusion for audiences after Dex’s cameo in World War. In an interview, Sheen explained that the events of Foodfight! vs. the Emoji Movie were set before the ending of World War, while stating that the film was partially tied with World War and Cartoon Wars and would “address” Dex’s cameo in the former film. In the mid-credits scene of vs. the Emoji Movie, it showed Dex being recruited by Rhys and Rob, voiced by Vin Diesel and Robert Downey Jr. respectively, reprising their roles from World War, to join the brothers “Cartoon Alliance” to save the multiverse from impending destruction, with the union between the Foodfight! and The Emoji Movie universes being part of the fracturing the multiverse is having.
When asked about a fifth Foodfight! film, FoodFiege stated that the fifth film would be made if they have a “great idea worth doing”, wether it was set in the aftermath of Cartoon Wars or was gonna focus on a new story for the Foodfight! characters.
