FireWater is an animated romantic drama series created by Dana Terrace and ND Stevenson for Max. A sequel to The Flames of Love and War, the series has Eryn Kellyman, Gabrielle Nevaeh, Sarah-Nicole Robles, and Dawnn Lewis reprising their roles, with Jon Hamm joining the cast.
Development on the series began shortly after the film's release, with Terrace and Stevenson hired as showrunners after co-writing the first film. The creators would seek to explore the more political aspects of the fil after the lead characters became activists at the end of the film. The duo also made research on interracial couples. Animation was provided by Flying Bark Productions.
