Final Space will be an American animated science fiction series broadcast on the HBO Max (with an Cartoon Network) platform. Created by Olan Rogers and developed with David Sacks as showrunner. The series chronicles the adventures of an astronaut, Gary Goodspeed, and his alien friend, Mooncake, as they attempt to solve the mystery of "Final Space".
Expansion of the Olan franchise began in 2016. Animation work began in 2018 on the TBS network. In 2019, it was rebroadcast on Cartoon Network. On September 10, 2021; it was canceled, due to the proposed merger of Warner Bros and Discovery and the budget of the series that ended up subtracting to give budget to the new reboot of Game Of Thrones and Sex and The City. In September 2022, Rogers claimed on Twitter that the series would be written off as a loss for tax purposes by Warner Bros. Discovery once it completes its international run on Netflix. And in April 2024, people wanted Final Space to bring back alive with a huge support for the creator (Olan Rogers) and later, Warner Bros (including Cartoon Network & HBO Max) responded to people with possible message for their fans and it was renewed by HBO Max & Cartoon Network.

Relaunch[]
On September 10, 2021, Rogers posted a video on his YouTube account indicating that season 3 would be Final Space's final, television-only season. It was later renewed on HBO Max.

Rick and Morty Meets Final Space is a 2 hours crossover special between Final Space and Rick and Morty, written by Justin Roiland and Olan Rogers (in a collaboration), and directed by David Sacks and Dan Harmon. Rick and Morty Meets Final Space is a continuation of the animated television series Final Space (2018-present) in a crossover with Rick and Morty, created by Roiland and Harmon, which originally aired on Adult Swim from 2013 to actuality. The special originally premiered on Cartoon Network's TV channel in August 2027, before making its official debut on HBO Max on November 22, 2027, at 11:00 p.m.
The special took a few years to produce. It features the same cast members from the original series reprising their respective roles. It has received generally positive reviews from critics.
