Rocket Raccoon is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Bill Mantlo and artist Keith Giffen, the character first appeared in Marvel Preview #7 (Summer 1976). He is an intelligent, anthropomorphic raccoon, who is an expert marksman, weapon specialist and master tactician. His name and aspects of his character are a nod to The Beatles' 1968 song "Rocky Raccoon". Rocket Raccoon appeared as a prominent member in the 2008 relaunch of the superhero team, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The character has appeared in several media adaptations as a member of that team, including animated television series, toys and video games. He appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). In these appearances, Rocket Raccoon is voiced by Bradley Cooper, with motion capture provided by Sean Gunn.

• The MCU version of Drax is in Iago PUC's Avengers Animated Trilogy, voiced by Trevor Devall.
• A version of Rocket Raccoon appears in Ultimate Marvel: Earth-2. This version is reimagined as Chris Cooper, Carlie's deceased father and a S.H.I.E.L.D. sergeant who was killed helping stop an invading Hydra patrol from attempting to assassinate J. Jonah Jameson, whom Carlie blamed for her father's death. It was also revealed that Arnim Zola / M.O.D.O.K. had also transferred sergeant Cooper's mind and consciousness into a super-computer for his future experiments. After learning of this, Carlie (with help from Spider-Man) managed to sneak into Zola's lab and retrieve the flash-drive containing her father's consciousness and transferred it into Mech-89P13, a android body resembling a anthropomorphic raccoon and composed of Kree technology, also earning the advanced abilities of a robot/machine, such as Technopathy, increased strength and durability, and shape-shifting into a small, but unstoppable rocket. Chris adopted the alter-ego of Rocket Raccoon.
• Rocket appears in A Marvel Christmas Carol, voiced again by Trevor Devall. He first appears along with his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy assisting the superheroes on Earth on stop Ymir's invading army of Frost Giants. Rocket also mentions to be respectful of Groot's decision to join Spider-Man's team of Champions, while acknowledging he would still be associated to the Guardians. Later in the alternate future presented by Cloak (as the Ghost of Christmas Yet-to-Come) and Dagger (as the "Soul Chain"), he and Hulk are shown carrying Franklin Todd's corpse in a coffin while searching for people who were close to Todd, until they overhear that Todd had no friends or relatives to mourn him and leave the coffin to be buried in Todd's grave by Wolverine and Drax. In response of Hulk asking if Rocket will attend to his funeral, Rocket jokingly replies "Only if lunch's provided.", making others next to him laugh about it. Later in the epilogue, Rocket is shown with the Guardians celebrating the Christmas party at F.E.A.S.T..
• Rocket returns in Marvel's Superhero Adventures: Infinity War (a sequel to A Marvel Christmas Carol), voiced again by Trevor Devall.
• Rocket returns in Marvel's All-Star Multiverse, voiced again by Trevor Devall.
• The Ultimate Marvel: Earth-2 version of Rocket Raccoon appears in Marvel: All New, All Different Chronicles. While this incarnation is also a raccoon-like animatronic which is the host of human consciousness, and has the same capabilities as in the comics, this version is not Carlie Cooper's father Chris, but rather Sebastian Allan (voiced by Troy Baker), an army sergeant and top engineer who was killed during a battle with Hydra in World War II. It was also revealed that Arnim Zola and Red Skull had also transferred sergeant Allan's mind and consciousness into a super-computer for his future experiments. After learning of this, Star-Lord and Gamora managed to sneak into the Jackal's lab within Midtown High School and retrieve the flash-drive containing Allan's consciousness and transferred it into Mech-89P13. Allan adopted the alter-ego of Rocket Raccoon, and became a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
• Rocket is a playable character in the kart racing video game Marvel Superhero Adventures: Intergalactic Grand Prix, voiced again by Trevor Devall. He is playable alongside Groot, with whom he shares the same karts. One of the heroes participating the titular racing tournament hosted by the Grandmaster, Rocket and Groot own two karts: the Double Dose (a space-themed motorcycle ridden by Groot with a weaponized sidecar for Rocket) and the Star Blur (a racing jeep ridden by Rocket with details of a tree and a Ravager ship).
