Firestar (Marvel Comics)
Everyone's got a role for me... Team leader. Cancer survivor. Cover story. Mutant. And I am all those things and then some. But what about how I define myself? What I want my life to be about? And allowing myself the chance to succeed or fail at it.
~ Firestar

Firestar (Angelica "Angel" Jones) is a fictional mutant superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Debuting in 1981 on the NBC animated television series, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (as Fire-Star), she has the ability to generate and manipulate microwave radiation, allowing her to fly and create intense heat and flames. • The Liz Allan version of Firestar appears in the continuity of Marvel's Spider-Man: Webbed Champion, voiced by Natalie Lander. In the show, Liz became Firestar after earning her powers due to exposure to a small active shard of the destroyed Blood Gem which duplicated Molten Man's powers. She also sports a nanotech particle suit which adapts to her powers and changes her hair color from brown to red to further hide her identity. She also mentions herself as a fan of She-Hulk, whose costume was a main influence for Liz to forge her own. She soon became a member of the Champions under Spider-Man's leadership.
  • A new version of Firestar exists in the continuity of Marvel: All New, All Different Chronicles, voiced by Sofia Carson. This version is named Ann-Gell, and is a Kree/Shi'ar 14-year-old teenage alien hybrid, daughter of renegade Kree captain Mar-Vell and Shi'ar Chancellor Vitana, with the abilities of flight and Pyrokinesis; she also takes the shape of a "living comet" when she is flying in outer space. She is a friend of the New Champions and Guardians of the Galaxy, and has a crush on the X-Men member Iceman. Curious, but rather joyful and enthusiastic, she is shown to have a strong affinity for Earth's culture, and enjoys the same free activities of human teenagers. She is also a S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy student and, because she has no official home in the Shi'ar Empire or the Kree after her parents' death, Ann-Gell currently lives in Pegasus Z with Dante Pertuz as his adopted sister. In the two-part final episode of the Guardians of the Galaxy's arc "The Kree War", Firestar (along with Richard Rider of the Nova Corps) officially joins the Guardians after Star-Lord and Gamora leave the group.
  • A new incarnation of Firestar appears as a playable character in Marvel's The Avenging Spider-Man, voiced by Laura Bailey. This version is Mary Jane Watson, who (revealed to be an Inhuman descendant) became Firestar after her Inhuman DNA awakened her abilities to fly and manipulate and generate fire.
