Eugenio Derbez's Detective Floette is an upcoming live-action/animated fantasy mystery film directed by Alberto Rodríguez, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kunihiko Yuyama, Emilio Martínez-Lázaro, Rodríguez and Marco Polo Constandse from a story by Atsuhiro Tomioka, David Marqués and Andrés Couturier. Based on the 2018 Mexican comic book Detective Floette, the film is a joint venture produced by Columbia Pictures, Little Witch Pictures and The Pokémon Company in association with Películas Pendelton. The film stars Eiza González as the voice and facial motion capture of Detective Floette, with Eugenio Derbez, Susana Zabaleta, Athenea Mata, Mauricio Ochmann, Ramón Langa, Kintaro Mori and Karra Elejalde in live-action roles.

The film is scheduled to be released soon.

Premise

In the Pokémon universe, ace private eye Jonathan Vingre goes missing, prompting his 57-year-old son Joseph to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Jonathan’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Floette.

Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Kalotis City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters.

  • Kintaro Mori as Detective Koshindo, a veteran Kalotis City police lieutenant who is accompanied by a Meloetta.
  • Karra Elejalde as Javier Pablos, the father of Ignacio Pablos and president of Kalotis City.
  • María Esteve as Dr. Laura Herrera, a scientist.
  • Ignacio López Tarso as Jonathan Vingre, Joseph's missing father and a famous Kalotis City detective.
  • Cristóbal Orellana as Yuyo, a Pokémon trainer.

Additionally, Pedro Sola and Erick Elias have been cast in undisclosed roles. El Risitas appears as himself.
