After Eddie Brock's ascension as the King in Black, Cletus Kasady/Carnage's codex is causing trouble in the Symbiote Hive, forming his own dark hive of corrupted symbiotes to rebel against Eddie and cause mass chaos. Anti-alien, specifically anti-symbiote, sentiment is on the rise as a result of recent events, such as the War of the Realms, Empyre, and Knull's invasion, and the Friends of Humanity seek to use this to their advantage to advance Senator Peter Krane to the White House. As Carnage takes advantage of ongoing events to corrupt every symbiote he can touch, it is up to the newly reborn Agent Anti-Venom, Andi Benton with her newly created Silence symbiote, and Toxin and his new host, Bren Waters, to take the fight to Carnage and prevent a catastrophe, while trying to uncover the sinister agenda of the Friends of Humanity.

The Star-Trek: New Frontier book-series written by Peter David. The crew of the USS Excalibur comes into conflict with a species of cosmic powers simply calling themselves "the Beings", who were encountered in the form of Apollo by Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise over a century ago, and learn that one of one of their crewmembers is Apollo's descendant. I was only interested in books 12 and 13.

Star-Trek: Q Continuum trilogy

The Q Continuum trilogy written by Greg Cox. A scientist experiments with piercing the Galactic-Barrier and the Enterprise has been assigned to help, Q appears to Picard to advise him against this course of action. Q then proceeds to take Picard on a trip through the history of the Q Continuum and his experiences in his younger days with with a malevolent being called "0" who possessed powers similar to the Q themselves. Q seeks to enlist Picard's aid in preventing the return of "0" and stopping him from ravaging the galaxy yet again.
