Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show is Cartoon Network's first full-length television film based on the Cartoon Network animated series Ed, Edd n Eddy. It is 90 minutes long. the film was released by A.k.a. Cartoon, along with Cartoon Network in North America on November 8th, 2009. It was also released in Australia on June 5th. It was released in Southeast Asia on June 13th, 2009. It was released in Scandinavia on November 8, 2009. The movie centers on Ed, Edd and Eddy's journey to find Eddy's unnamed (and previously unseen) older brother after one of Eddy's schemes left the cul-de-sac in a state of devastation.

Antonucci first announced a "90 minute special" in 2006, and its title in 2007. Originally set to air in 2007, its premiere date was then moved to 2008, the year it was completed in, and was finally set to release in 2009. Due to the movie, the series' sixth season was shortened, as Antonucci and the team at a.k.a. Cartoon wanted to focus on the production of the film. The score is composed by Patric Caird, who also composed the music for the series. The voice cast features all of the series' voice actors, while series voice director Terry Klassen was cast as Eddy's Brother. The film was a success in the ratings for Cartoon Network, posting double and triple digit ratings delivery gains and was met with a positive reception. It was also released on the US iTunes Store.

After a scam goes badly wrong, the Eds are going hyper and feeling sweatingly terrified so much that it forces them to hightail it from the Cul-de-Sac. Panickedly, Eddy suggests they move at his Brother's room at least until the dust settles. Frenziedly, he and the two Eds are forced with only one choice: to embark on an epic journey through uncharted territories to locate Eddy's Brother's location for safety and shelter, unaware that the enragedly furious Kids are tracking them down seemingly with the intent to murder them, as the Kanker Sisters are taking their chance to arrest them and to grab the three horrified fugitives for their date.

Eddy's most recent moneymaking scheme has backfired heavily and left the cul-de-sac in Peach Creek in a state of devastation. The other children are horribly wounded, except for Sarah and Jimmy, and they all decide to confront the Eds violently. After narrowly escaping, the Eds decide to search for Eddy's older brother for protection. However, Eddy does not actually know where his brother lives.

Although not affected by the scam, Jimmy and Sarah seek to have a picnic and watch the Eds get beaten up. Jonny and Plank don their respective superhero alter-egos "Captain Melonhead" and "Splinter the Wonderwood" while searching for the Eds in a city bus. Rolf leaves with overflowing luggage riding on the back of his pig Wilfred, using Wilfred's sense of smell and whatever deduction methods he has at his disposal to find the Eds. Kevin and Nazz travel via Kevin's prized bicycle. When the Kanker sisters—Lee, Marie, and May—find out what the kids plan on doing to the Eds, they go off to protect their "boyfriends" from the children's wrath and kidnap Jimmy and Sarah to enslave them by forcing them to draw their battle-wagon.

In the meantime, the Eds are left to aimlessly wander under Eddy's direction. In a cow field, Edd (called Double D) profiles Eddy's brother and reasons that given his con artistry, he would likely be found at a place involving pranks. Ed uses one of his 10-year-old comic books to suggest that the group travels to the Lemon Brook Gag Factory through a sunflower field. Upon arriving, they find the factory has been abandoned. Ed and Eddy goof around with the leftover gags while Double D searches for clues in the office.

After leaving the factory, Eddy claims that his brother was once a "whaler," where Double D deduces that he must live by sea. He then builds a boat to ride the river to his brother. The river ends in a swamp, destroying the boat. Ed and Eddy prank Double D into believing that they have sunk to their demises in quicksand. The two laugh at Double D for falling for the prank. Infuriated, Double D decides to return home and face the kids' wrath, and Ed bawls over their damaged friendship. Eddy is initially enraged by this, but also cries and apologizes for the prank. Double D forgives him and the trio continues their journey.

Meanwhile, Jimmy and Sarah manage to escape from the Kanker Sisters by hiding in a sunflower field. They then continue their journey with Wilfred (who has ended up separated from Rolf). Later in the evening, the Kanker Sisters confront Nazz, Kevin and Rolf, and abduct all three of them.

The next morning, the Eds come across a coastal theme park called "Mondo A-Go Go" which Double D links to a postcard Eddy has from his brother. The Eds conclude that they have successfully located his brother, living in a trailer resembling a whale. However, as Eddy is about to knock on the door, the Kanker sisters and the Peach Creek kids arrive, all except for Jonny and Plank. Eddy then knocks on the trailer door, and his brother reveals himself. Although his brother originally seems to be everything that the kids imagined, he reveals himself to be physically abusive towards Eddy without reason, leaving everyone appalled.

When Double D tries to talk him out of harming Eddy any further, Eddy's brother dismissively uses Eddy to slam Double D into the ground. Shocked by this, the other kids then begin to defend Eddy. Ed sends the trailer door flying into Eddy's brother and knocks him out. As Eddy expresses remorse over his past actions, he reveals that he lied about his brother and acted the way he did throughout the series in an unsuccessful attempt to gain admiration and social acceptance. Touched by Eddy's open confession and apology, the kids forgive and accept the Eds as friends. Jonny and Plank subsequently arrive and, without giving anyone a chance to explain what has happened, quickly attack the Eds. In response, the other kids attack Jonny and Plank. Afterwards, Kevin invites everyone over for jawbreakers and the children, except for Jonny and Plank, return home together, while the Kankers drag Eddy's unconscious brother into his trailer.

In the post-credits scene, Jonny and Plank, enraged after everyone turned against them, vow revenge and replace their superhero personas with the villainous alter-egos "The Gourd" and "Timber the Dark Shard". However, Plank tells Jonny that there is no time left in the movie, to which Jonny asks "What movie?".

Years before the announcement, there were rumors about a possible Ed, Edd n Eddy feature film. At the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con, series creator Danny Antonucci stated that a "90 minute special" was set to air in the next year. In The Complete Second Season DVD's "Behind the Eds" interview, Antonucci hinted that the film would reveal what is under Double D's hat, though this never occurred, outside of a possible hint of him being bald in a few episodes, such as Run Ed, Run.

In June 2007, a.k.a. Cartoon confirmed they were working on a 90-minute television film, which was planned to broadcast in 2008, along with a DVD release. As a result, production of the previously ordered sixth season of the series was replaced by the film, not because of a lack of interest in new episodes, but rather because the entire a.k.a. staff was occupied with the making of the film. Cartoon Network agreed to Antonucci's decision to make a film rather than the sixth season. Two sixth-season episodes were already in production, though, so Cartoon Network aired them as a special event on June 29, 2008. IGN confirmed that the series was on hiatus due to the film in November 2007.

On July 27, 2007, at the 2007 Comic-Con, a.k.a. announced that the film, entitled Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show, would feature the search for Eddy's brother, a character who had been alluded to several times throughout the series but would be seen for the first time in the film, and that it would be the series finale. He was voiced by Terry Klassen, who had also served as the voice director for the series.

The film was completed in 2008, but did not premiere until November 2009. It was directed by Antonucci, who co-wrote the film along with Jono Howard, Mike Kubat, Rachel Connor and Stacy Warnick. The film was storyboarded by Scott Underwood, Steve Garcia, Raven Molisee, Joel Dickie and "Big Jim" Miller.[7] The Big Picture Show finally premiered on November 8, 2009, on Cartoon Network. The series' composer Patric Caird returned to compose the score, and later released it on his website. The film can be purchased on the iTunes Store.

Matt Kapko of Animation World Network described the premiere of Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show as a "huge ratings success for Cartoon Network," noting that the premiere "earned double and triple-digit ratings and delivery gains among all kid demo[graphics]."

Charlie-Robinson Poortvliet of MovieAddictz.com gave the film an "8.2/10" rating, considering it superior to all Ed, Edd n Eddy episodes he has seen; calling it a "double episode grand finale", Poortvliet acclaimed the film's plot, voice acting performances, and direction, and said that he "couldn't stop laughing", calling it a "must see" for fans, saying they would "love this movie for a fact", and also noted that the film was a "huge positive surprise, as normally TV movies are worse than the series."
