Dreamtropolis is an upcoming arcade beat 'em up developed by Namco Bandai and published by Nintendo. It is based on the deviantART webcomic Kirby Krisis. The game allows up to four players can play as Kirby, Dani Phantom, Billy Hatcher or Chowder, who must battle through nine stages in order to rescue the members of WarriorDrome from a mysterious new enemy.
Plot[]
A deranged version of Raven escapes from the Demon Mirror of Azarath, vaporizing nearly all members of WarriorDrome and placing them under her imprisonment. Kirby, Chowder, Dani and Billy must unite and battle across Dreamtropolis to rescue all of the captured WarriorDrome members to put a stop to Raven's mirrored antithesis and her goal for world domination.
Gameplay[]
Like most arcade beat 'em ups, players take control of Kirby, Dani Phantom, Billy Hatcher and Chowder as they fight off various enemies in order to traverse into different sections of Dreamtropolis they have previously visited from the webcomic.
The characters have distinctive attack styles; Kirby, Dani and Billy can only punch and kick, while Chowder wields a Ninjala Katana. Players can also pick up items to use in combat, such as Travis Touchdown's Beam Katana, The Super Scope and baseball bats as melee/range weapons. Players can also summon other characters via "HELP!!!" Icons; Sprig Plantar can propel a barrage of explosive mushrooms via slingshot upon enemies, Shrinking Violet (or "Vi") can grow into a skyscraper and stomp on enemies, Vanellope Von Schweetz can heal up the characters, and Tsuyu Asui spins around and whipping enemies with her frog tongue.
