Disney on Ice: The Art of Animation is a suggested new Disney on Ice show to commemorate the magic and art of Disney animation from past to present Disney films.

Plot[]

Step into a harmonious world of color as your hosts Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto invite you on an all-star tour across the Walt Disney Animation Studios as Chip and Dale accidentally encounter a magical animation kit with a palette with the colors of the rainbow and sheets of paper with sketches of Disney characters, with Chip and Dale being them. Only chaos can ensue and it’s up to our favorite heroes of the Magic Kingdom to restore the missing color and recover the animation!

The gang demonstrates different materials such as animation paper, desks, computers for 3D animation.

Have a touch of strength from Aladdin, Moana, and Mulan, explore the deep blue sea with Dory, Nemo, and Ariel, be charmed by many Disney Princesses, find your true identity when Elsa turns into a spirit, explore the nature with your animal friends from The Lion King, and be thrilled with the colors and rhythm of Encanto as you play along with Mirabel and her familia, and make a special wish for a better community with Asha and Star! Featuring special appearances by Tarzan and the Muppets!

It’s one, colossal, inspirational, harmonious, and sensational spectacular families can enjoy!

Trivia[]

  • This show, along with We're All Wondrous, replaces 100 Years of Magic (later renamed to Let's Celebrate!)
  • Pluto wears the same palette collar from Epcot.
  • This show uses the song “Drawn to the Magic”, from the Disney California Adventure show of the same name that ran from 2004 to 2010, for the finale, but with different vocals and orchestrations.
    • During the finale song “Drawn to the Magic”, the line “A true hero to all, the magic’s in me” is sung in a gentle and mellow tone much like sometimes at Disney’s California Adventure.
  • The show involves the colors of the rainbow, but in reverse order in the first act and then forwards in the second act.
  • This marks the following:
    • The first time Mickey is voiced by Phillipa Soo instead of Bret Iwan.
    • One of a few shows where Mickey wears his casual Toontown outfit from 2023.
    • Another time where Bo Peep is voiced by Kristen Bell (who also voices Anna) instead of Annie Potts. Bell voices over Potts’ lines in the Toy Story 4 segment from 100 Years of Magic.
    • The first Disney on Ice production to feature Muppets, namely Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and Animal thus, the first show to feature puppets since The Little Mermaid which featured a puppet of Harold the Seahorse.
  • The Phantom Blot is mentioned by Mickey but makes no appearance.
  • The working title for this show was “Inspired in Harmony”.
  • It is revealed that Donald’s favorite heroine is Anna.
  • It is also revealed that Goofy’s favorite princess is Rapunzel.
    • The transition where Goofy and Rapunzel recover the colors and animation for Wish shows that the latter, like the former, is clumsy and scatterbrained.
