The Disney Reborn Multiverse (DRM) is a series of remasters originally founded by the crew at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The films are remastered versions of well-known motion-pictures originally released by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios including the now-defunct DisneyToon Studios in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. The universe also expands films that are acquired from Studio Ghibli, Baby Einstein, The Jim Henson Company, Blue Sky Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd. and 20th Century Fox.

Films

The Lion King Reborn

The Lion King Reborn is an upcoming 2019 American animated epic, adventure, musical, drama, and dark comedy film directed by Rob Minkoff and Roger Allers from a screenplay by Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts, Linda Woolverton, and Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a remake of Disney's traditionally animated 1994 film and the first feature part of the Disney Reborn Multiverse. Based on the Lion King franchise, it will feature an ensemble voice cast that includes Robert Guillaume, Suzanne Pleshette, Matthew Broderick, Ernie Sabella, Jeremy Irons, Alfre Woodard, Nathan Lane, Rowan Atkinson, Lacey Chabert, Jason Marsden, Neve Campbell, Julie Kavner, Jerry Stiller, Cheech Marin, Andy Dick, Moira Kelly, and James Earl Jones. It features posthumous film performances by Suzanne Pleshette, who died in January 2008 and Robert Guillaume, who died in October 2017, and the film is dedicated to their memories.

With the film co-produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, it is set to be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The Lion King Reborn also marks as one of the last films to be released by DisneyToon Studios after its closure in June 2018. Plans for a remake of The Lion King were confirmed in September 2016 following the success of Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book. Animation began in January 2017 at Walt Disney Animation Studios with a large cast consisting mostly of voice actors and actresses reprising their roles from the original films and television series. The production lasted until February 2018. Additional production took place at DisneyToon Studios shortly before its defunct. It was released on July 19, 2019.

Mulan Rebirth

Mulan Rebirth is an upcoming animated 2020 musical historical war drama film. The film serves as a remaster of the 1998 film Mulan, conjoining it with its 2004 sequel Mulan II (for the latter, much of the scenes had to be remade to recapture the spirit of the first film). It stars the voice talents of Ming-Na Wen as Fa Mulan, BD Wong as Captain Li Shang, Miguel Ferrer (in his final film role) as Shan Yu and Eddie Murphy as Mushu.

Planes Origins: Dusty Crophopper

Planes Origins: Dusty Crophopper is an upcoming 2023 American 3D computer-animated sports comedy-drama disaster film produced by DisneyToon Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

Cars Origins: Lightning McQueen

Cars Origins: Lightning McQueen is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated sports comedy-drama disaster film released by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios.

Avengers: Infinity Crusade

Avengers: Infinity Crusade is an upcoming American superhero epic film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and set for distribution by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It serves as an alternate, extended version of the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War, expanded with its 2019 sequel Avengers: Endgame, the 19th and 22nd films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Brie Larson, Danai Gurira, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Gwyenth Paltrow, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

The film was announced in April Fools' Day of 2019. The Russo brothers came on board to direct in that same month, and Markus and McFeely signed on to script the film again. Filming will begin in August 2019 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette County, Georgia and additional filming will take place in the Downtown and Metro Atlanta areas and New York City.

The film is scheduled for release in the United States on May 1, 2020 on YouTube, with a tweaked version dubbed in Japanese that would be released in a later date.

The Lion Guard: The Rise of the Roar

The Lion Guard: The Rise of the Roar is an upcoming 2020 American-South Korean animated Musical film produced by Walt Disney Pictures that is based on the Disney Junior series The Lion Guard. It is also the first installment in the Lion Guard updated compilation film series. Directed by Howy Parkins alongside a screenplay written by Ford Riley, Kevin Hopps, John Loy, Jack Monaco and Elise Allen, the film will star the voice talents of Max Charles, Joshua Rush, Atticus Shaffer, Dusan Brown, and Diamond White reprising their roles as Kion, Bunga, Ono, Beshte, and Fuli from the television series.

The film was first announced on April 22nd 2019, following the release of The Lion Guard Season 2 finale "Fire from the Sky". Parkins returned to direct in that same month, and Riley, Hopps, Loy, Monaco and Allen signed in to write the script again.

It is currently scheduled to be released on YouTube, December 25, 2020.

The Lion Guard: The Dawn of Zira's Pride

The Lion Guard: The Dawn of Zira's Pride is an upcoming 2021 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Pictures based on the Disney Junior series The Lion Guard. A sequel to The Rise of the Roar, it is the second installment in the Lion Guard reboot series. With Howy Parkins and Tom Derosier returning to direct alongside a screenplay written by John Loy, Elise Allen, Kevin Hopps, Ford Riley, Kendall Michele Haney, and Chelsea Beyl, the film will star the voice talents of Charles, Rush, Shaffer, Brown, and White reprising their roles as Kion, Bunga, Ono, Beshte and Fuli, as well as Jason Marsden, Nika Futterman, Lacey Chabert, Andy Dick, and Maia Mitchell.

It has been announced for a release date on November 12th, 2021.

Toy Story 4 Ever

Finding Nemo Reborn

Finding Nemo Reborn is an upcoming 2023 American computer-animated adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures, as well as distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film will mark as a remaster of Pixar's best-known films: Finding Nemo in 2003, and Finding Dory in 2016. It also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original 2003 film.

Canceled films

The Lion King Annihilation

The Lion King Annihilation was meant to serve as "part two" of the remaster of Disney's well-known 1994 animated film The Lion King, as well as being a direct spin-off/sequel of The Lion King Reborn, conjoining it with its 1998 sequel The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, but was then removed from production.
