Detective Baby Rosalina is a 2025 animated comedy film made by Columbia Pictures, Thrashcartoon Productions, TSG Entertainment and Hazel's Helicopter Entertainment. The film was released theatrically on May 2, 2025, in the United States. It is a spin-off to the 2022 film Let's Go Luna 2: The Second Part. The film grossed $128.4 million on a $71 million budget and received generally negative reviews from critics.

Synopsis[]
Last time on Let's Go Luna 2: The Second Part, Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser get sent to Japan. Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser escape from Japan. They teamed up with Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin' Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, Cyborg Bro, and Bubbie the whale, determined to wreak havoc. Sanity is cluing your way, and she's Detective Baby Rosalina! Detective Baby Rosalina clues in, while Luna, Leo, Andy, and Carmen travel around the world, Xavier, Brad, and Yadina journey through the Secret Museum to meet real historical figures, and Elinor, Ari, and Olive explore and investigate the wonders of nature. Will Detective Baby Rosalina be able to stop Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, and their allies before chaos reigns?

After Detective Baby Rosalina sends Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser to Japan using her “Detective Logic” in Let's Go Luna 2: The Second Part, Cyborg Bro steals a helicopter to get Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser out of Japan and take them back to the Vyond Republic. Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, and Cyborg Bro then go to the movies to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman with Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, and Coin Bro. After an hour, Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, and Cyborg Bro are caught off guard by Detective Baby Rosalina, Dark Meowser’s parents (Meowser and Cat Princess), and Dark Bowser’s parents (Bowser and Ice Princess). The trouble deepens when it’s discovered that they went to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman in theaters with Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, and Coin Bro. Furious, Detective Baby Rosalina grounds Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser for 24 weeks while sending Cyborg Bro away. Dark Bowser and his parents head home. Meowser tells Dark Meowser to go to his room. Xavier Riddle prepares for his magic trick (making his top hat float magically). Yadina suggests they team up for a special show, but Xavier prefers to perform solo. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina time-travel to 1772 in Germany to meet William and Caroline Herschel. In Paris, France, Andy is making and directing a short film, together with Luna, Leo, and Carmen. Mr. Hockbar discovers that Señor Fabuloso seemingly transformed into a chicken. It turns out to be all part of the film’s magic. Elinor and Ari go to Olive’s house for a sleepover. Olive tries to play her violin, but she can’t find the inspiration to play a song for her friends. While she’s practicing, a mysterious chirping sound keeps interrupting her. Elinor, Ari, and Olive go to investigate. They discover the sound is coming from crickets. They learn that crickets chirp to communicate with each other. Observing the crickets gives Olive a new musical idea and inspiration. With that new inspiration from nature, Olive finally plays a great violin piece for her friends. Detective Baby Rosalina and Baby Ice Princess punish Dark Meowser. As part of his punishment, Dark Meowser must watch Fred videos, much to his horror. Later, Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie the whale ruin Bowser Junior’s birthday party. Bubbie throws the cake at Bowser Jr’s face, which causes Bowser Jr. to cry. Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie then get grounded. In 1772, Germany, Xavier, Brad, and Yadina meet Caroline and William Hershel. Caroline and William help make music for Xavier, Brad, and Yadina. Detective Baby Rosalina watches a video of a barbershop tantrum. She notices that the video got 20 thousand views. Baby Ice Princess comes in and asks Detective Baby Rosalina to go to Menchie’s with her. This grumps Dark Meowser. Dark Bowser tells Dark Meowser that they can still do whatever they went to do in their spare time. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina praise Caroline and William’s music performance. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina go to 1786 England. Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie make a mess in Baby Ice Princess’s room. Upon hearing the egg splatting, Detective Baby Rosalina goes to Baby Ice Princess’s room and sees the state of the messy room. Detective Baby Rosalina and Baby Ice Princess catch Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie. Detective Baby Rosalina and Baby Ice Princess send Dark Meowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie away. Detective Baby Rosalina and Baby Ice Princess ground Dark Bowser. Dark Bowser gets punished by having makeup by Baby Ice Princess. Luna, Leo, Andy, and Carmen are in Reykjavik, Iceland. Andy, Leo, and Carmen go to a Sea Monster Museum filled with exhibits about legendary sea creatures. Andy gets excited, but worries that a real sea monster might be nearby. Andy meets a sea monster, who goes by Faxi. Andy and Faxi become best friends. It was all just Andy’s dream. There is a Beautiful Songs with Baby Ice Princess segment, where Baby Ice Princess sings Rather Be by Clean Bandit. Elinor, Ari, and Olive are making Valentine’s cards, but they used up the red crayon. Detective Baby Rosalina watches the news. The news reports that Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser are stealing a TV from Best Buy. This causes Detective Baby Rosalina to call 9-1-1 to arrest Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser for their crime. Elinor, Ari, and Olive go to Mr. Hippo’s store, but Mr. Hippo is all out of red crayons. Elinor, Ari, and Olive then go to Mr. Beaver’s crayon workshop. Mr. Beaver shows Elinor, Ari, and Oive the steps in making crayons. Mr. Beaver runs out of wax. Elinor, Ari, and Olive go to Farmer Bear’s farm. Farmer Bear gives Elinor, Ari, and Olive wax. Elinor, Ari, and Olive go back to Mr. Beaver, and they give the wax to Mr. Beaver. Mr. Beaver makes red crayons for Elinor, Ari, and Olive. Using Dark Meowser Logic, Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser escape from jail. They then go to Chuck E. Cheese’s, where Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie are. Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie have fun at Chuck E. Cheese’s. They are later caught by Detective Baby Rosalina and her mother figure, Rosalina. Dark Meowser and Dark Bowser get grounded by their parents. Later, Baby Rosalina, feeling bored, decides to watch TV, only to see a news report warning that the sinister Other Mother has arrived in the Vyond Republic. Baby Rosalina then goes outside and realizes that her neighborhood transforms into a desert. The Other Mother chases Baby Rosalina. Baby Rosalina gets trapped by a gum, which allows the Other Mother to capture her. The Other Mother imprisons Baby Rosalina in a dark room behind a mirror. The Other Mother tells Baby Rosalina she can only leave once she has “learned to be a loving daughter”. It is all just Baby Rosalina’s horrible dream. At Windsor Castle, Caroline and William Herschel became astronomers. Caroline and William do astronomy with Xavier, Brad, and Yadina. Xavier and Yadina then do a magic show. Detective Baby Rosalina is dropped in the Baddy Place. Dark Meowser arrives, and Detective Baby Rosalina wants to get out of the Baddy Place. Dark Meowser then tells Detective Baby Rosalina that she is in the Baddy Place because she was doing something very wrong. Dark Meowser then reveals that there is no way to get out of the Baddy Place and shows Detective Baby Rosalina around the Baddy Place. They continue the Hall of Fame tour for an hour. Detective Baby Rosalina sees Dark Meowser as the “Employee of the Month”. Detective Baby Rosalina spots an emergency exit, which lets her escape the Baddy Place. Later, Detective Baby Rosalina and Baby Ice Princess enjoy frozen yogurt from Menchie’s. Detective Baby Rosalina notices that Bowser Jr. is caught in a mousetrap. It was then revealed that Dark Bowser trapped Bowser Jr. in the mousetrap. Dark Bowser then gets grounded. Later, Dark Meowser eats Detective Baby Rosalina’s cake while Detective Baby Rosalina isn’t looking. This causes Detective Baby Rosalina to throw a tantrum. Dark Meowser then gets grounded for eating Detective Baby Rosalina’s cake. Later, Detective Baby Rosalina, Bowser Jr., and Meowser Jr. go to the buffet to eat pizza. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina time-travel to meet Jackie Robinson, who is the baseball player known for breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball. They watch Jackie face lots of unfair treatment and prejudice while he works hard and keeps playing baseball respectfully and excellently. Instead of reacting angrily, Jackie shows courage by playing and proving himself. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina go to Jackie’s baseball game. Jackie shows his courage and then wins the game. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina go back to the present to have lunch with Brian and Harper. Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie are planning to go to Dave and Buster’s, but instead, Detective Baby Rosalina blasts them off to defeat them. Detective Baby Rosalina goes back home. Bowser Jr. and Meowser Jr. go to Subway to get sandwiches. Baby Ice Princess and Baby Bowser are at the beach, about to build a sand castle. Meowser and Cat Princess are at the park, thinking about sitting on the bench peacefully. Bowser and Ice Princess are at the fancy restaurant. Dark Meowser, Dark Bowser, Cyborg Bro, Dark Charlie the Anteater, Slammer, Turbo Bro, Wheel Bro, Ice Chargin’ Chuck, Shuriken Bro, Coin Bro, and Bubbie are in jail. Luna, Leo, Andy, and Carmen are in London, England, being detectives (with Carmen as Sherlock Holmes, and Luna, Leo, and Andy as Watsons), solving the case of a stolen Shepherd’s pie. Xavier, Brad, and Yadina time-travel to India in 1911 to meet Rukmini Devi. Elinor, Ari, and Olive are at the beach. Elinor and Ari are about to build a sand castle, and Elinor suggests making it a sand exploring club. Olive is about to catch waves on her boogie board. Detective Baby Rosalina asks Rosalina if she can go for a walk.
In the post-credits scene, Detective Baby Rosalina, Baby Ice Princess, Baby Bowser, Bowser Jr., and Meowser Jr. are at the movie theater, enjoying the movie. The usher comes in and tells Detective Baby Rosalina, Baby Ice Princess, Baby Bowser, Bowser Jr., and Meowser Jr. to leave the theater. Detective Baby Rosalina, Baby Ice Princess, Baby Bowser, Bowser Jr., and Meowser Jr. are initially offended, but they immediately understand and exit as the movie draws to a close.
