Development[]

After HydroDoesWhackyStuff finished the Novel, Sony decided to take a request with HydroDoesWhackyStuff to make a film adaption of the book. Sony requested a collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG, and the creators of Scott Pilgrim vs. The Word, and RPG Metanoia. During the time Sony Pictures Animation was busy making the movie of Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse. Pascal approached Lord and Miller about making an imaginative movie, to which Lord and Miller agreed with the condition that they could adapt HydroDoesWhackyStuff's novel. Miller was waiting for them to respond. Miller said that it would "co-exist" with the fictional, videogame, and comic book characters, even novels; though Sony soon stated that the film would "exist independently of the projects in one of the directors' cartoon movie projects," as it is set in an alternate universe from those films. Tom Rothman, Sony Pictures chairman, contacted Viva Films and Star Cinema to collaborate with the film together with the Filipino Actors.

At the 2024 CinemaCon in April, Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman announced that Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse film had to be released at 2026, release date, and would be produced by Lord and Miller, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Pascal, with Lord and Miller also writing a treatment for the film. For this, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be finished while Daily Dose of Hydro's Life Lost World: The Movie will be as the same year to the movie. At November 2024, Lord had written a script for the film, and the studio chose Bob Persichetti to direct. The Directors have to think any ideas, so then HydroDoesWhackyStuff proved to make the film understandable and more accurate. Luis C. Suárez, Edgar Wright, and Kirk DeMicco had joined the film as a co-director by that point. The Directors brought their Editors, Producers, and Screenplayers. Lord and Miller announced the film's full title in August 6 and said that multiple fictional characters would appear in the film. Edgar Wright said the film was meant to be more imaginative, and by seeing their favorite characters on-screen. Not to be confused, the Infinite was the same to be in Sonic Forces said by Kirk DeMicco, but a human version, so they decided to ask SEGA for permission if they can make the character Infinite as a human and a well-written character.

Mike Rianda, Kiran Sangherra, Andrew Duncan, and Akiva Schaffer joined as the Co-Directors team. Mike Rianda told the directors "What if we make it more imaginable like the Novels wrote?" then Edgar said "Oh yeah! That would be heck of a ride!", Suarez once said "Let's make the movie a mix of a Comic and Game genres, much more different to the Scott Pilgrim Film, it would have Healthbars, Manas to Hydro's glasses." Schaffer added "Yeah, like fictional characters as actors, if you know what I mean." Persichetti said "What a great Idea! I was thinking about the character living in our reality, like the Earth-1218 from Marvel. For an inspiration, let's make Earth-XXXL8 a better place." Soon later, Mike Rianda had an idea, and told the directors "Hey, what if we add The Mitchells in the movie? If there's no family, the movie won't go well." The directors agrred to Mike Rianda, and decided to make the Mitchells into asupporing character for Hydro.

The movie was going to be have a Sinister, Evil, Threatening, Menacing, and The Intensity of the antagonist, making the main character goofy. The movie was going to be the Inspiration and styled of Sonic Unleashed, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Sonic Frontiers, and more.

Sony and DreamWorks managed to ask permission to Disney with the Kingdom Hearts characters/voice actors to be appeared in the movie, and it's well accepted. It was later shown from the Crawl Art of the Credits.

Main Article: Daily Dose of Hydro's Life Lost World: The Movie/Soundtrack

The Composer, Tomoya Ohtani was hired to compose the original score of the movie, which he is the one who composed the music for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Mark Mothersbaugh joins Tomoya for composing music. Months later, Hans Zimmer, Hideaki Naganuma, and Pendulum was hired to compose music for the movie. Tomoya Ohtani was the lead composer and sound director for Daily Dose of Hydro's Life Lost World: The Movie. In accordance with the tone, the film soundtrack is less upbeat and is "focused more on helping to create a mysterious feeling surrounding the islands". The soundtracks of Sonic Frontiers was used to this movie, like the prior Titan battle themes in the game; "Undefeatable" (Giganto), "Break Through It All" (Wyvern) and "Find Your Flame" (Knight), which will be the soundtracks to the album of the Vocal Traxx Album, which their versions was extended and mixed.

Artists on the soundtrack include Nathan Sharp (a.k.a NateWantsToBattle), Juice WRLD, Crush 40, Chris Madin, Runblebee, Shawn Christmas, Swae Lee, Post Malone, Jaden Smith, Andy Bane & Tyler Smith from Dangerkids, Kellin Quinn, Rick Ross, Rich Brian, and DJ Snake who was marketed as a special guest. A separate album containing Ohtani, Mothersbaugh, Zimmer, Pendulum, and Naganuma's score was released by Sony Classical Records on August 5 2027. Weeks later , Friedrich Habetler was hired for the composing team, and Daniel Prmberton hopped in for a suspenful music. The names was later added to the album.

Animation Design[]

The film's animation was handled by Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver, who had handled nearly all of Sony Pictures Animation's prior films. According to Lord and Miller, for the second time, making the film to feel like the viewer had "walked inside a comic book," and were excited about telling the story in a way they believed the live action films could not. An "inimitable look" of manga and video game (particularly 16-bit) iconography with bright colors and graphics mixed into the live action; visual effects supervisor Frazer Churchill described the look as "tricky" to achieve, calling the film's style and appeal "very high-tech images with a very hi-fi feel". This also mixes “hand-painted watercolor style” look for the film that is used from the film The Mitchells vs The Machines. Persichetti and Wright concurred, feeling that animation was the best medium to honor the comics, allowing the production team to adapt 70-year-old comic art techniques for the film's visual language to feel like the Spider-Verse Animation Style. It took around a year for three animators to create 10 seconds of footage that reflected the producers' vision; the animation work was created from there. During initial development, the directors has worked with the animator once again, Alberto Mielgo, to establish the film's look. Although Mielgo was let go by Sony before the movie had been significantly produced due to artistic differences, this number eventually grew to 70 animators during production. It became clear that they could not complete the film on time, so the crew was expanded further. The number had reached 157 animators by April and at one point to 197 animators, this includes the DreamWorks animators with 107 animators worked, the largest animation crew that Sony Pictures Imageworks had ever used for a film.

Churchill described all the fights as "the most challenging". The scene also incorporates the video game scrolling background effect, which was filmed by a second unit over a full day. Churchill added that one moment in particular required much work. The Film was used to be the design like the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse decided by Bob Persichetti. To make the film look more like storybook illustrations, from an idea suggested by production designer Nate Wragg from Puss In Boots: The Last Wish that is decided by Kirk DeMicco. Using new technology, the team at DreamWorks focused more on a painterly style design, to make the film look like a fairy-tale, cybernetic, modernistic, and classics world. Wright said he had an idea: when Hydro kills an opponent, the enemy turns to coins, which inspired to his film. Animation work was completed in October 2026.

Title Sequence[]

The opening title sequence was designed by Richard Kenworthy of Shynola, and was inspired by drawn-on-film animation. The sequence also begins with an 8-bit version of the Universal title slate and music, which Art of the Title calls the film's "amuse-bouche" and which was designed by Oscar Wright. The Title sequence was similar to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World film. Edgar and the directors approached Shynola to create it. Edgar told them to make it a really bit different and similar at the same time from the Scott Pilgrim film. The style was a TV Static and Glitches on screen, showing the Comic backgrounds of the film. The Japanese sequence mixes the sequence style of Spies in Disguise. The Opening sequence was animated by Ufotable, the animators of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series. The opening shows more like an Anime Opening with a lot of foreshadowing and sick transitions. In Japanese, it will make a Japanese logo of the Film.

Philbert Ortiz Dy of ClickTheCity.com declared the film worthy of comparison to CGI animated features released by sony, stating: "Luis C. Suarez. the director of RPG Metanoia comes back for another animated movie, collaborating with Sony Pictures Animation and DreamWorks Animation SKG. Hydro was completely like a fusion of Scott Pilgrim from the Scott Pilgrim book series, Nico from RPG Metanoia, and Miles from the Spider-Verse trilogy. Filipino actors Aga Muhlach, Eugene Domingo, Anne Curtis, Coco Martin, and Angel Locsin had a great job with their acting. Despite the main character's actor is an American, the Filipino tradition is inside him, and always will. Thanks to Roger. The Americans and the Filipinos did great for this movie. Great job!"
