DC Superhero Kart Untamed is a kart racing video game of the superhero genre based upon the fictional universe of DC Comics, developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Games for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Premise

See also: Story Mode Missions
  • The game's animation and tone is similar to that of Multiversus.

Bored of simply watching the superheroes' adventures, Bat-Mite creates a racing tournament by changing reality itself and invites numerous heroes and villains to compete. But soon halfway through the races, Joker overthrows Bat-Mite, turning himself into Emperor Joker and making the races far more deadly.

Gameplay

Similar to other kart racing games like the Mario Kart franchise and Crash Nitro Kart, players compete in customized tracks in races with eight or twelve characters and vehicles. During the races, players can pick up Power-ups to gain advantage, or perform special techniques to gain a speed boost. Each character has a personalized projectile item (such as Batman throwing his Batarangs, or Superman firing Heat Vision) which can be obtained from power-up items.

Game Modes

  • Test Drive: Taking place in a training simulator of the Watchtower, this level serves as the Training Tutorial level for the game.
  • Quick Race: Players can select any track of their choosing to play. The maximum number of racers on a track at any one time is between eight or twelve. It can also be played in Local and Online Multiplayer Mode. There are also two Quick Racing Modes: on Individual (where players race against each other individually) or on Team (where players compete while split between teams, similarly to Team Sonic Racing).
  • Time Trial: Player vies for the fastest lap.
  • Battle Arena: Up to four or eight racers fight customized battles, launching weapons during combat in one of the special battle arenas. Like the Quick Races, the Battle Arenas can be played in Individual mode or Team mode, and can also be played in Local and/or Online Multiplayer Mode. The battle modes consist of:
    • Survival: Racers battle to survive until the last one stands.
    • Treasure: Racers battle to collect as many target items as they can within a time limit. One player will win by collecting most items.
    • War World: Racers battle to destroy as many enemies as they can within a time limit. One player will win by destroying most enemies, which can be destroyed with Power-ups, or by ramming them.
  • Grand Prix: Players compete in a racing cup with a number of tracks for the Bronze, Silver, and Golden trophy. It can also be played in Local Multiplayer Mode. There are two different types of racing cups:
    • World Cup: Players compete in one of the six racing cups with each consisting of five tracks.
    • Universal Cup: Unlocked after clearing Story Mode. Players compete in all racing cups and tracks.
  • Story Mode: Player participates the game's main storyline, and completes missions and races to progress and unlock new tracks, characters and vehicles.
  • Multiplayer Mode: It has two modes: Local, which can be played with 2, 3 or 4 players in the same console and does not require internet access, and Online, which can be played with 12 players connected to internet in individual consoles.
