Trivia

  • Adored by the Network: Warner Bros. treats CtSB the same way it treats several of their other main franchises such as Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, DC Comics, The Matrix, Mad Max, Wizarding World and Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, often airing its shows on Cartoon Network, WB Kids and Boomerang in a regular basis, TBD.
  • Big Name Fan:
    • When Warner Bros. approached him to develop Full Speed, Greg Weisman revealed he was a big fan of the series and the fact they picked him to develop the series was something he wished for a few years before its development started.
      • On the other side, Oscar and Tadaki were both fans of Gargoyles and had Weisman as one of their top choices to develop the series.
    • Buffy the Vampire Slayer' creator, Joss Whedon has revealed to be a big fan of the series.
    • CtSB has inspired María Alejandra Botín, Lawrence Christensen, Stella McDonnell, Daniel Wright, Seth Carter, George Van Moore, and Diane Schmidt to create their own WBIE games and TBD.
    • [real-life cartoon creators, if Green has ideas of who]
    • [the creators of The Last Airbender since why not]
    • Rebecca Sugar, before creating Steven Universe, was already a fan of the series and she often dreamed of working for the series.
      • She has also drawn R34 art of it, especially of Collin/Evelynn. Some examples included them making out next to a tree while the others are searching for them, TBD.
    • Ed Boon has admitted to liking CtSB despite the MK-CtSB rivalry.
    • PewDiePie, Jacksepticeye, MatPat, Markiplier, JonTron, Nostalgia Critic and Angry Video Game Nerd have all revealed to be huge fans of Collin the Speedy Boy.
    • [EpicLloyd and Nice Peter]
    • [Brian Hull, Brock Baker, Brizzy Voices, EllieMonty and other YouTube voice actors]
  • Cash Cow Franchise: since CtSB is by far one of the most popular WBIE franchises aside from Mortal Kombat, The Dinosaur Princess, Good Ol' Magic and Howler, it has been considered the cash cow for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, spawning a LOT of merchandise, two TV shows (Full Speed and The Chronicles of Collin the Speedy Boy), a theatrical film along with some direct-to-video films, and several spin-offs, including two non-canon spin-off series (Artificial Leagues and The Saga of Collin). Not bad for Warner Bros.' first ever video game series.
  • Celebrity Voice Actor:
    • The series generally averts this for its main and supporting characters as the developers prefer to cast professional voice actors for those due to their longtime experience on that field and also due to budget issues.
      • Downplayed for some celebrity voices in supporting roles as most of them regularly have voice acting as their secondary career (most notably Mark Hamill as Sir Victor).
    • The CGI movie adaption naturally had this for the series' characters.
  • Channel Hop:
    • The game series had five developers during its run. Out of those five, three were external: Iguana Entertainment for the first two games, Infogrames for the early 3D games and Eurocom after 2005. With Eurocom's bankruptcy in 2012, future games' development started to be made in-house: first with WB Games Montréal and then with Avalanche Software shortly after Warner Bros. acquired it from Disney.
    • Streaming rights for both Full Speed and Chronicles moved from Hulu to HBO Max on May 27th, 2020.
  • Children Voicing Children: the 15-year-old Elisha Preston was voiced by a then-14-year-old Jessie Flower in her first appearance.
  • Creator Worship: TBD
  • Creator's Favorite: both Oscar and Tadaki regarded Collin as their favorite character on it.
  • Dawson Casting: Collin and his human friends, despite being teenagers, were always voiced by adults, even with their consequent recasts.
    • As an example, when Full Speed came out, Quinton Flynn (Collin and Zane) was 39, Scott Menville (Tommy) was 32, Carlos Alazraqui (Cooper and Ugly) was 41, James Arnold Taylor (Trent) was 34, Will Friedle (WesDragon) was 27 and Kath Soucie (Evelynn and Kelsie) was 36.
      • Same can be said to Aurelie, Maddie and Sara since, back in 2003, Jennifer Hale was 31, Tara Strong was 30 and Hynden Walch was 32.
    • Same for Matthew Mercer since he was 31 when he replaced Quinton Flynn as Collin and Zane in 2013.
  • Dueling Works: with Sonic the Hedgehog, naturally.
  • Executive Meddling: TBD
  • Fake American: although not necessarily set in the United States, it is worth to point out that main cast member Eric Bauza and supporting cast members Jennifer Hale, Tara Strong and Maurice LaMarche were all born in Canada.
    • Averted with main cast member Carlos Alazraqui and supporting cast members Alanna Ubach, Maria Canals-Barrera and Janice Kawaye, since, despite their ethnicity (Hispanic for the first three and Japanese for the latter), they were all born in the United States.
  • Fake Nationality: Kath Soucie falls on this since, despite Evelynn being of mixed ancestry (Hispanic and Caucasian), she is fully Caucasian.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • Some fans like to call Collin, "Sonic but he's human".
    • CollinBob SpeedyPants from some SpongeBob fans, due to its supposed popularity, humor and the memes they both spawn.
      • However, this also annoyed some fans from both media due to their different tones, with some SpongeBob fans considering Howler a fairer SpongeBob of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and due to Looney Tunes already serving as its general Warner Bros. counterpart to the show due to their status as pop culture icons and mascots, while some CtSB fans prefer to be compared to Danny Phantom, Avatar or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles instead, considering they're more action-oriented Nicktoons.
    • [related with Guardians of the Galaxy, Futurama and Persona (because they have a talking mascot) for The Space Rangers]
  • God Does Not Own This World: despite Oscar Hamilton and Tadaki Fujiyama creating the series' characters and concepts, Warner Bros. Entertainment is the copyright holder for it, allowing them to continue the series if any of them ends up departing.
  • Name's the Same:
    • [Jayden and Jaidynn]
  • Playing Against Type:
    • Some episodes of Full Speed and Chronicles are this for Greg Weisman since they are generally more comedic and more of a slice-of-life rather than the usual actiony works he usually makes.
  • Playing Gertrude: Grey Griffin was this to Bryte until 2009 since she was 27 when she took that role over from the late Mary Kay Bergman.
    • Mary Kay Bergman herself was also this until 1997 since she was 34 by the time Collin the Speedy Boy 2 came out.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • [KJ Apa after being chosen as the CGI film Collin's voice]
  • Release Date Change: [the CGI film]
  • Rule 34 - Creator Reactions:
    • Oscar Hamilton was aware of CtSB's R34 fanart and fanfics and he was not surprised with it, although still disturbed at it considering most of the series' human characters are underaged, and affirmed that "every fandom has its perverted fans, Collin's ain't exception".
      • When he found out that Stella McDonnell made some, he had a little talk with her, saying "Would you like if they did the same with your characters?", with Stella jokingly replying "I already do that".
    • When Fujiyama discovered CtSB adult material and fics, including ones made by Stella, he was rather annoyed about it, but much like Hamilton, he tolerates it, even if not necessarily supportive of it.
    • While not necessarily favorable to it, Oscar's wife Madison McDougal-Hamilton is tolerant about it, since she understands such things are also part of the fandom and they can't actually stop those fans from doing it.
    • Of course, Warner Bros. isn't fond of this and threatened to take down some websites that featured that type of CtSB fanart.
  • Technology Marches On: TBD
  • The Character Ice Cream Bar: Blue Bunny released an ice of Collin's face with green gumball eyes.
  • The Other Darrin: over the run of the series, there were a few recasts:
    • Due to Mary Kay Bergman's unfortunate suicide in late 1999, Bryte was eventually recasted with Grey Griffin, who also inherited the role of Daphne Blake from Scooby-Doo from her.
      • When Collin Returns was first released, the game was dedicated in loving memory of her. Most of Bryte's dialogue on it featured her voice, although some of her dialogue already featured Grey's voice.
    • In 2013, Quinton Flynn stepped down as the voice of Collin and Zane, with Matthew Mercer assuming his roles. Despite initial backlash from fans, they quickly warmed to the new voice.
    • The CGI film adaption counted with celebrity voices rather than their regular voices.
  • Voices in One Room: Warner Bros. has favored this standard since its creators and voice director (initially Andrea Romano and then Collette Sunderman) believe it makes the characters' dialogue to sound more natural and realistic. This also allows the voice actors to ad-lib their lines, although also giving origin to a series of outtakes.
    • Grey Griffin once joked that "be glad that you only hear the finalized version, especially if we showed what happens behind the scenes, we'd be busted".
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Before settling on Collin, Oscar and Tadaki toyed with several concepts for the protagonist, including a British aviator who flies a WWI-styled plane, a feminine flower, an opossum (eventually became Tommy), a figure who looks like Abraham Lincoln with an axe, a female satyr and a little girl with a pet tiger frog hybrid.
    • After deciding on Collin, Oscar and Tadaki had a few concepts for the villain, including a parasitic hive mind, a vulture with flaming wings, a crazy jackal made out of bones, an evil black dragon, an elemental lion, a humanoid chameleon and a punk girl who has a mind controlling guitar. Eventually, they settled on a three-eyed bird who would become Bryte.
      • Some of these ended up to appear as different characters in other media.

YMMV

  • Abandon Shipping: when Courtnei and Jayden were first introduced, some fans started to play with the idea of pairing either with either Collin, Trent or Wes. However, that eventually was canned when the developers confirmed that there is indeed a thing going on between both of them.
  • Accidental Innuendo: TBD
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: TBD
  • Awesome, Dear Boy:
    • Simon Cowell recalled that when he was called to guest star in Full Speed, Weisman told him "We want you to guest star on our show and you're gonna sing on it". He then replied that he liked how wicked it sounded and TBD.
  • Awesome Music: TBD
  • Banned in China: The franchise was banned in some countries where LGBT is considered a crime, most notably in several African and Middle Eastern countries (excluding some cases like South Africa and Israel).
    • Ironically, the franchise was not banned in Russia, despite its laws.
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Tommy is this since some fans find him completely annoying.
    • While plenty of fans love Evelynn, some fans find her rather bitchy and TBD.
    • Aurelie tends to be loved by fans due to TBD, but some fans dislike her for her supposed stupidity.
    • Bryte tends to be hated by her sadistic and near psychopathic nature, but most fans love her due to being a competent and feared vilainess.
    • Fans (especially LGBT fans) loved Courtnei and Jayden due to being an example of a positive and natural same-sex relationship, yet there are fans who hate them since they think they're just added just to "push an agenda" and pandering to SJWs.
      • Both Hamilton and Fujiyama denied those accusations and even consulted LGBT people and organizations in order to make their relationship the most natural possible.
  • Best Known for the Fanservice: both fans and non-fans agree that most human females on it are pretty attractive, aside from occasionally featuring fetishes like TBD.
  • Broken Base:
    • [SJWs/politically correct/cancel culture trying to force "muh diversity" and tone down the games' violence]
  • Cargo Ship: TBD
  • Complete Monster: TBD
  • Crack Pairing:
    • Tommy/Cooper. The less we talk about it, the better it is.
    • Collin/Caitlin. After all, Caitlin is the Rule 63 version of Collin.
    • Some fans ship Gurkha... with Lilia due to being half-dinosaur, even if her half-human side is more noticeable.
  • Crossover Ship:
    • There are some crossover pairings in the fandom like Collin/Ashton, Collin/Charlotte, Collin/Kitrina, Collin/Miranda, Collin/Cassie Cage, Collin/Jacqui Briggs, Trent/Kitrina, WesDragon/Gayle, TBD.
      • When asked about pairing Collin with either Cassie or Jacqui, Ed Boon replied that he'd better make Collin a DLC in Mortal Kombat 11 and implying that he might be frigthened for having two violet girls fighting over him.
    • For same-sex couples, there's Gurkha/HueHue, Aurelie/Kitrina, Evelynn/Charlotte, Collin/William Doxx, Collin/Tristan, Collin/Howler, WesDragon/Isiah, Aurelie/Cassie, TBD.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Cooper and Tommy were one of the most popular characters in the franchise.
    • Gurkha became a very popular character thanks to Gurkha memes, especially to the meme community.
    • The Avians, especially Evelynn, became one of the most popular female characters in the franchise, mainly due to their appearances.
    • [Stacie]
    • [Elisha and the Deltas]
    • [Space Rangers, especially Triston, Alexis and Claudia]
    • [Moira]
    • Jack Kanoff became popular, mainly because of his name being an adult joke.
    • Love Rectangle were by far the most popular comic-exclusive characters in the franchise aside from Jack Kanoff.
    • [Robyn Blakes]
    • [Connie]
    • [Sonia]
    • [Kristen]
    • [the Mermaids]
    • [Sir Victor and Warden Cummer from Prison Roundup]
    • The alternate reality Collins gained a large fanbase, especially Caitlin the Speedy Girl, Collin the Speedy Gunslinger and Detective Collin.
    • [Evangeline from Chronicles]
    • [Lady Lena from Chronicles]
    • [the Virtual Fantasy characters from Chronicles]
  • Fan Dumb:
    • Kath Soucie is usually praised by CtSB fans for her voice work as Evelynn, but some toxic fans complained about her not being the right choice for the character... just because she isn't Hispanic while forgetting the character is half-white from her mother's side while also complaining that Courtnei and Jayden aren't played by LGBT voice actors (both Nika Futterman and Alanna Ubach are straight) when their sexual orientation isn't even their main focus.
      • Those complaints gained more strength in the wake of the George Floyd protests, although mainly used by anti-SJWs to mock them.
      • Oscar ironized those complaints on Facebook by posting that maybe he should have a dog and an opossum voice Cooper and Tommy while travelling back in time, kidnapping a velociraptor and tyrannosaurus rex, and making them voice Gurkha and Sharp.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple:
    • Collin/Aurelie.
    • Collin/Stacie.
    • Collin/Jaidynn (post-redeemal).
    • Collin/Sonia.
    • Collin/Kristen.
    • Collin/Moira.
    • Bryte/Eli.
    • Bryte/Fang.
  • Fandom Rivalry:
    • Initially with Looney Tunes since the game series became popular around the same time as Warner Bros.' flagship franchise was being revitalized with modern takes and spin-offs such as Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs as some fans feared that it would have Collin be more recognizable to children than Bugs Bunny, therefore being a lot more popular than him.
      • Looney Tunes fans also disagree that CtSB can be considered "Warner Bros.' counterpart to SpongeBob SquarePants", especially since both Looney Tunes and SpongeBob are comedic works while CtSB, despite having some comedic moments, is more serious and dramatic, being more accurate if compared with a more action-oriented Nicktoon such as Danny Phantom, and since Bugs Bunny is the mascot of Warner Bros. as a whole, including Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, much like how SpongeBob is the mascot of Nickelodeon and, at some extent, Paramount Pictures and Viacom as a whole.
    • The CtSB fandom has a rather complicated relationship with the Sonic the Hedgehog one due to both franchises featuring similar premises and some Sonic even accusing CtSB of being a rip-off of it as both sides often argue over TBD.
    • Good Ol' Magic, The Dinosaur Princess, Bailey the Face Paint Hero, Howler, Fluke, Veronica, and The Sea Legend fanbases all initially had a rivalry with the CtSB fanbase.
    • After Warner Bros. acquired most of Midway Games' assets, a new rivalry showed up, this time with Mortal Kombat as fans ofter bashed each other for targeting different audiences (since CtSB is aimed for general audiences and MK for mature audiences) and TBD.
      • One Mortal Kombat fan even drew fanart of Scorpion tearing Collin in half.
    • CtSB fans DESPISE The Face Paint World Life, and therefore they don't get along with its fans, as they accused TFPWL for plagiarizing "Collin Brady" and "Maddie Crowell", being misandrist, being too girly, TBD.
      • Not even Oscar and Tadaki like TPFWL, since that they aren't fond of Disney Channel and Nickelodeon teen sitcoms and they believe that TFPWL is too girl-skewed and they believe that it wouldn't make any difference if it was a live-action show instead due to TBD.
    • CtSB have an unhealthy relationship with The Tales of the Paintders fans, mainly for similar reasons with TFPWL (minus the plagiarism part).
    • CtSB fans didn't get along well with SpongeBob fans, especially those who keep calling the former "CollinBob SpeedyPants".
      • This seemed to annoy Looney Tunes fans as well, considering the former is more similar in content to SpongeBob rather than CtSB.
    • Fans of this and Teen Titans Go! and ThunderCats Roar often fight with each other as CtSB dislike those shows for obvious reasons.
    • Compared to The Last Airbender, CtSB fans don't really have a good relationship with those of The Legend of Korra.
    • [Adventure Time at times, once more due to the SJWs]
    • [the Netflix She-Ra series, again due to SJWs]
    • Some insane fans of CtSB hated Sajoedri, USA, mainly due to the Craig the S****y Boy episode, therefore arguing with the Sajoedri fanbase.
    • [Birds of Prey (the movie) for the Avians, guess...]
    • The CtSB fanbase has had feuds with the Steven Universe fanbase, mainly due to TBD and the fact that they're both known to be toxic makes it worse.
  • Fanfic Fuel: TBD
  • Fetish Fuel: several installments in the series involve scenarios that can invoke a fetish.
  • Foe Yay Shipping:
    • Collin/Zane.
    • Collin/Sheila.
    • Collin/Jaidynn (pre-redeemal).
  • Fountain of Memes: TBD
  • Friendly Fandoms:
    • The rivalry with the Looney Tunes fandom didn't last that long since its fans eventually embraced Collin's potential and believed he's a great addition to the Warner Bros. catalog, especially since the company didn't have too much family-friendly franchises back then. That until Time Warner's merger with Turner in 1996 allowed Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network to join their family as well.
      • When Space Jam first came out, CtSB fans noticed the similarities between Looney Tunes newcomer Lola Bunny and Evelynn due to sharing the same voice actress and their tomboyish traits as fans usually draw fanart of them together and picturing them as a role model to each other.
    • As time went on, the rivalry between this fanbase and those of GOM, TDP, Bailey, Howler, Fluke, Veronica and TSL toned down as they started getting along.
    • Despite their long-standing rivalry, Sonic the Hedgehog fans regard CtSB as a worthy rival and vice-versa as their fans agree that, despite their similarities, they shouldn't "judge a book by its cover" and they're good franchises in their own, usually having a healthy relationship with each other and even sharing their disgust for how much their fandoms' toxic fanbase ruined their reputation online.
      • It also helps that some of CtSB's voice actors also had voice roles in the Sonic series and vice-versa (most notably Kath Soucie as Sally Acorn and Nicole in SatAM, Quinton Flynn as Silver the Hedgehog from 2010 until 2019, Matthew Mercer as Espio the Chameleon since 2016 and Nika Futterman as Sticks the Badger in Sonic Boom).
    • [Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon]
    • The fandom has a healthy relationship with the ThunderCats fandom, especially that of the 2011 series.
    • [The Mystic Woods]
    • Despite the fact that SpongeBob fans called CtSB "CollinBob SpeedyPants", some fans of both do tend to get along.
    • The Simpsons fans get along well with CtSB fans, mainly due to their meme status.
    • Despite the rivalry between both fanbases, fans of CtSB do tend get along with the "non-toxic" fans of the Steven Universe fanbase.
    • Fans get along well with those of the DC Universe in general, especially Teen Titans, Young Justice, Batman Beyond, Static Shock and Super Hero Girls because they have teenagers in lead roles.
    • CtSB fans have shown to ADORE Danny Phantom and vice-versa, therefore having a good relationship.
    • [The Last Airbender]
    • [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, especially the 2003 series and after being bought by Nick (2012 series)]
    • [Kim Possible]
    • Plenty of CtSB fans have revealed to be also fans of Myth of the Monkey King, with many of them being allies of MoTMK fans.
      • Some fans have also supported MoTMK fans when fighting with The Face Paint World Life fans, especially since both of them shared the same rivalry with TFPWL.
    • [Gravity Falls]
    • [Totally Spies!]
    • The RWBY fandom has an oddly healthy relationship with CtSB one since they're both owned by Warner Bros. and lost their creator too soon.
  • "Funny Aneurysm" Moment: TBD
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: aside from the United States and Canada, CtSB has a large following in several European countries (especially the United Kingdom and Ireland, France, Germany and Russia), Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
  • Growing the Beard: although the game series had a steady start, most fans consider Collin Returns the moment it reached its prime thanks to introducing new elements such as Evelynn assuming the identity of Macaw, TBD.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • One Full Speed episode, according to fans, accidentally "predicted" COVID-19 when TBD talked about some kind of flu "from some place far away"
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The animation for Full Speed was outsourced to TMS Entertainment, itself owned by Sega as Sonic X was being developed by the same studio around the same time.
    • Seth Green voiced Jamie Ball on Full Speed, being a parody of actor Jason Biggs. Fast-forward to 2014 and he ends up replacing Biggs as the voice of Leonardo on the 2012 incarnation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
  • Ho Yay Shipping:
    • Evelynn/Aurelie.
    • Wes/Trent.
    • Courtnei/Jayden.
    • Gurkha/Sharp
  • Idiosyncratic Ship Naming: TBD
  • Launcher of a Thousand Ships: Collin has been shipped with a lot of characters, both inside and outside the CtSB franchise.
  • LGBT Fanbase: [mentioning both sane fans and SJWs]
  • Memetic Badass: TBD
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • In April of 2019, there were various memes being made featuring Gurkha, including the "Look out, fool! Gurkha's heading after you!" video.
      • One example of a Gurkha meme was a Moto Moto parody video, with Gurkha as Gloria and HueHue from Victor and Valentino as Moto Moto.
      • Another example was a video with Gurkha acting like Swiper from Dora the Explorer, with Collin and Tommy saying "Gurkha no eating!", but before they could finish saying it the third and last time, Gurkha eats their heads off.
      • Yet, another example was an Instagram video of Gurkha snapping his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet, causing Shaggy Rogers, Moto Moto, Shrek, Goku and even Thanos to fade away from existence.
      • Another example is several fanmade drawings and videos of Gurkha dressed as Ricardo Milos while dancing at the sound of either DotA, U Got That or Dancin (Krono Remix).
      • As a variant of the Bowsette meme, some fans created a Rule 63 version of Gurkha named Gurkhette as he turns into a beautiful blue-haired woman with a velociraptor tail and often TBD.
    • [Tommy-related]
      • And then there's this picture with Tommy making an angry Rigby-esque face, becoming a meme in the 2010s.
    • [Evelynn thanks to the tomboy culture]
    • Collin's creepy face from Girls of a Feather became a meme around the late 2000s to early 2010s, with some members of the meme community comparing it to SpongeBob's ugly face in Whatever Happened to SpongeBob?. In 2019, memes about it have been revived.
    • By the time The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius was airing on Nickelodeon, CtSB fans started spoofing the DNA Productions logo with Bryte replacing Paul.
      • As soon YouTube was launched, CtSB fans started making animated versions of it for the website.
    • Claudia from The Space Rangers is this. After all, she's is the comic relief.
    • Not even Bryte was safe from the Bowsette fever as some fans turned her into a humanized version of herself named Brytette as she turned into TBD.
    • YouTube Poops exist, with several of them featuring TBD. Famous videos include TBD.
    • The GoAnimate/Vyond community made infamous grounded videos of Bryte, Elefish King, Gurkha and Sharp, and other villains, with some moments becoming memes.
    • Many JoJo's Bizarre Adventure memes, especially the To Be Continued memes, had compilations, in which some consisted of CtSB clips.
    • Shortly after the release of the first theatrical trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, CtSB fans took advantage of Sonic's design to draw a hyper-realistic cringy version of Collin.
    • In 2018, after Warner Bros. announced a partnership with Wendy's to promote Beyond Magnum City, several artists started making and publishing drawings of Evelynn cosplaying as Wendy for laughs on platforms like DeviantArt and Pixiv, with some of them being published on hentai websites due to those being NSFW.
    • Shortly after #SailorMoonRedraw became an online trend, some CtSB fans drew a version of it with Evelynn replacing Usagi, but soon noticed a scene from the Full Speed episode Girls of a Feather where Evelynn is [ideas for her pose/expression] as they started a challenge named #DrawEvie with a similar purpose, NSFW ones included.
    • A user created a reanimated version of this clip, except Wander and Lord Hater are replaced with Collin and Bryte, which became pretty popular among the meme community.
    • [the coffin dance meme for when a character does something completely stupid]
    • Inspired by the infamous Wario Apparition memes, a YouTuber has created a fanmade CtSB version with Collin running from Zane's head, being titled "Zane Apparition".
    • [Alyssa, from Heroes of Arcasia, is a better protagonist than Ellie to mock the The Last of Us: Part 2 review bombing]
  • Memetic Molester:
    • Gurkha has been portrayed as a molester, mainly for the sake of memes.
    • [Bryte]
    • [Collin]
    • [Evelynn, also including R34 art/fanfiction that includes BDSM and even non-consensual sexual intercourse]
    • [Moira]
  • Memetic Psychopath: after memes of Collin's creepy face from Collin the Speedy Boy: Full Speed resurfaced in 2019, some fans started making new memes of it, as some would go far as making fake rumors, chain letters, and urban legends about it for jokes, claiming that "Collin" would go around neighborhoods and forests around 12-3 AM and kidnap "his" victims and soon kill, rape, and even eat "his" victims.
  • Mis-Blamed: TBD
  • No Yay:
    • Collin/Bryte due to the fact it crosses as zoophilia.
    • Collin/Gurkha for similar reasons.
  • One True Threesome:
    • Collin/Evelynn/Aurelie.
    • Collin/Evelynn/Stacie.
    • Collin/Evelynn/Sonia, even if it's partially incest.
    • Collin/Evelynn/Moira.
    • Collin/Evelynn/Kristen.
    • Collin/Evelynn/Jaidynn.
    • Bryte/Eli/Fang.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: due to the wake of George Floyd protests, Oscar Hamilton published a statement on Facebook saying that "I agree that racial discrimination should end for once. However, most of those people joining the protests against police brutality just do so to cause crimes, wreck havoc, vandalize, disrespect authorities, and try to "rewrite the past" by taking off statues, aside from [disbanding police and changing/removing some content in media to pander to the SJW/PC/cancel culture fans]. And the fact we're still on the middle of a damn pandemic only makes it worse! Is that what George Floyd would like to see? I thought this was the United States, not an Orwellian-like society", with the toxic faction of CtSB's fanbase accusing him of being racist, misogynist and promoting hate speech, with some going too far by wanting to cancel him and sending letters to Warner Bros. to fire him and his wife Madison McDougal-Hamilton, who also did similar claims, and replace them with someone who complies with their goals.
    • Oscar later defended himself from those accusations by replying "I'm far from being a monster: I'm a good husband and father, I created LGBT characters to show that LGBT people aren't different from straight people, I have friends and family members who are part of the LGBT community, including my friend María, I have friends who are black, Hispanic, Asian and from other ethnicities, I never cast white people as Black or Asian people to not look insensitive, I've donated money to associations who fight against racial, gender and sexuality discrimination, however, I can't hide my disgust with those who want the end of racial discrimination by forcing their twisted views of diversity into media and TBD. Doing what you're doing doesn't make you a better person, it just makes you as bad as the ones you're fighting against. My apologies to the ones who felt offended with my words, even if that wasn't my intention as I'll always stand with the ones who are struggling with any time of discrimination".
    • [reactions from Tadaki and saner CtSB fans]
  • Portmanteau Couple Name:
    • Collynn (Collin/Evelynn).
    • Treddie (Trent/Maddie).
    • Wesara (Wes/Sara).
    • Jaydnei (Courtnei/Jayden).
  • Ship Mates: Collin/Evelynn shippers commonly ship Cooper/Abygal, Trent/Maddie, WesDragon/Sara and Courtnei/Jayden as well.
    • Same can be said for Collin/Aurelie fans.
  • Ship-to-Ship Combat: fans of Collin/Evelynn sometimes get into feuds with fans of Collin/Aurelie, Collin/Stacie, Collin/Moira and even Collin/Kristen.
  • Testosterone Brigade: TBD
  • Unpleasable Fanbase: [toxic fandom (SJWs/PC/cancel culture fans) as they claim there's not enough "muh diversity" and want to force it on it]
  • Vocal Minority: [SJWs/PC/cancel culture]
  • We're Still Relevant, Dammit!: the series is sometimes criticized by its fans for cashing on modern trends to keep "hip" for newer generations. Notable examples include:
    • An episode of Chronicles had Tommy doing the infamous floss.
  • What Do You Mean, It's For Kids?: the series is intended for general audiences, although it has several dark moments, lots of hidden jokes and innuendo and TBD, being even more evident in the comics.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Made on Drugs?: TBD
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: some people accused The Magnum City Elections for having a political bias towards the Democratic Party, since some of Bryte's political actions on the episode resembled a stereotypical portrait of a Republican Party candidate in some media. However, Oscar and Tadaki replied that those traits were pure coincidence and that the point of the episode was that candidates were people, not political sides.
    • Aside that, both creators are nonpartisan, affirming that "there's good Republicans and bad Republicans the same way there's good Democrats and bad Democrats".
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: there has been constant annoying moments from toxic fans, forcing Oscar and Tadaki to suspend their talks with fans on social media for several occasions.
  • X Meets Y: The Flash meets Sonic the Hedgehog meets Mario meets Crash Bandicoot.

WMG

  • The whole franchise was a whole story made up by Collin himself. While people like Evelynn, Tommy, Cooper, Trent and Wesley do exist in real life, others like Flappy, Voodoo, Bryte, Gurkha and Sharp are entirely part of his imagination.
  • Everything that happened in the franchise is a result of a coma Collin Brady is in.
  • Zane is actually Collin from a dimension where everything is the opposite from the Prime dimension.
    • By extension, Kelsie would be this for Evelynn.

Funny

  • Tommy, Goof and occasionally Trent and WesDragon are often seen as comic relieves of this franchise.

Heartwarming

Nightmare Fuel

  • Ziles' appearance can be terrifying to viewers.
