Cillian Darcy: The Shadow Begins is an upcoming American computer-animated superhero film based on the character with a same name. It is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film is directed by JJ Abrams and the Brother Chaps, from a screenplay by Karen Gillan. Drake Bell voices as the titular character, starring alongside Christoper McDonald, Neil Finn, David Tennant, Jennifer Anstion, Alfonso Ribeiro, Eric Stuart, Michele Knotz and Haven Paschall.
Plans for an animated Cillian Darcy origin film, to be developed by The Brothers Chaps, were first revealed in 2014, and officially announced in April 2015. Persichetti, Ramsey, and Rothman joined over the next two years, with Moore and Schreiber cast in April 2017. They wanted the film to have its own unique style, combining the in-house computer animation of Sony Pictures Animation with traditional hand-drawn comic book techniques inspired by the work of Miles Morales'.

In the origin film, an outcast named Jake Williams got into a terrible acccident which changes him from an outcast freak into a rebellious gothic boy named Cillian Darcy.
