Chowder: The Movie (or simply Chowder) is a 2016 American traditionally animated comedy-drama adventure film mixed with CGI, based on the TV series of the same name by C.H. Greenblatt. The film will be written and directed by C.H. Greenblatt with director Eddy Houchins and writer William Reiss. The film takes place after the show's series finale, produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. This makes it the only theatrical Chowder film to be seen on the big screen. The film is about Miss Endive planning to destroy all catering companies and restaurants around Marzipan City.
The film stars Nicky Jones, Dwight Schultz, Tara Strong, John DiMaggio, Mindy Sterling, Liliana Mumy and Dana Snyder reprising their roles from the series, with Ryan Gosling joining the cast. The film is set to theatrically release in movie theaters on March 17, 2017 in the United States. The film received positive reviews from critics and was a box-office success, grossing over $975.4 million on a $100 million budget.

In the film, Miss Endive, owner of Miss Endive's Tasteful Foods, plans to destroy all catering companies and restaurants around Marzipan City, including Mung Daal's, prompting Chowder, Mung, and the rest of the protagonists to go up against her, including Panini.

On February 2012, it was announced that Cartoon Network Studios is developing an animated theatrical Chowder feature film. Louis J. Cuck, who produced the animated television series, is producing the film, and William Reiss will be writing the film. On February 2014, it was announced that Warner Bros. Animation will be co-producing the film and C.H. Greenblatt, the original show's creator, will direct and write the film and will also be the executive producer with Brian A. Miller and co-writer.

The film will be theatrically released in movie theaters on July 29, 2016 in the United States, by Warner Bros. The film's theatrical release will be preceded by A Day Without Magic, a short film based on Cartoon Network's animated television series The Life and Times of Juniper Lee.
Marketing[]
McDonalds is to release Happy Meal toys to promote the film. WaterTower Music and Cartoon Network Records released the film's soundtrack. The teaser trailer releases on January 10, 2016, posted on the Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Pictures YouTube channels. A second teaser trailer will release on April 29, 2016. On July 22, 2016, promotional tie-ins on Cartoon Network consist of bumpers with Chowder, Panini, Ceviche and Gorgonzola in a movie theater announcing the film. In addition, they host the whole line-up, in intermissions between commercial break.

The film was released on Digital on October 18 and Blu-Ray and DVD on November 29, 2016. It contains the deleted scenes, a The Life and Times of Juniper Lee short film Sleepy Magic, the 18-minute featurette, behind-the-scenes of Chowder: The Movie, featuring interviews with most of the principal cast and crew, animatics, the audio commentaries and the sneak peek of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack: The Movie (2017).
