Production[]

In November 3, 2029, From Japan they were asked if one of their japanese mascots "costumes" would have a film adaptation according to sources, to which Sony Pictures responded that they would make the most popular one which in the end would turn out to be Chiitan. Then they began to talk to their creator about giving them what he said would be respected in their way of being as Chiitan. Then they will start producing but they have a hard time adapting them so they hired some outsiders who did not socialize with Sony so Faryn Pearl would start to direct it.

Licenses with other japanese mascots like Shinjo-kun, Yume-chan, Pipo-kun, Domo-kun, Kumamon, Sanomaru , Waka-pi, Makki, Kaparu and would appear while the rest could not but would pay quite a bit. Those who were borrowed were given voices. Others appear but they only appear as cameos

They started making hybrid animation in some scenes which would give a good result as happened with Spider-Verse trilogy, In the case of the japanese mascots, they would have expressions that were difficult at first, but with more support, the development was possible and we were successful. It was previously decided by production that Chiitan is female given his appearance and personality, despite the fact that the creator said that Chiitan does not have a defined gender.

Afterwards, Sony had to collaborate with other countries because some scripts ran out of ideas, so StudioCanal came to fix it, so they changed some things, but Faryn Pearl doesn't want it to look disappointing, that happened to a other DreamWorks Animation proyects with storyboards wasted, but after so many consultations, both Toei Animation and Sony approved the positive so that this jn would be well received.

In March 7, 2033, it was announced that the released date for Chiitan: The Movie moved one week later from its original release date, June 20, 2033.
