Checker is a subscription video on-demand streaming service owned and operated by the WarnerMedia Entertainment subsidiary of WarnerMedia. The service primarily distributes films and television series that are animated, shared across many studios such as Disney, Warner Bros, Paramount and more. Original films and television series are also distributed on Checker. Checker focuses on children's entertainment within animation, although it does have a mode where you can watch adult-oriented shows and movies.
Checker debuted on July 31, 2020, in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.
The service is built around cartoons from companies like Disney, Warner Bros and Paramount. The main mascots of the service are Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse and Spongebob.
It is suggested that Checker has approximately 5,000 television episodes and 700 films. The service will also include select shows and films that aren't fully animated, but has animation in it (e.g. Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Space Jam, Looney Tunes: Back In Action) It usually takes a show or film about six to eight months to go from theaters to Checker.
Checker also contains the complete Looney Tunes, Happy Harmonies and Silly Symphonies library.
Original Scripted Content
Original series based on Looney Tunes and Cartoon Network are being produced, with the latter including not just spin-offs of their shows, but series within the Cartoon Network canon as a whole, including a series about Noods.
Original Unscripted Content
Jason Kilar says that original unscripted content is "unlikely" to appear on Checker, due to it being a service meant for fictional entertainment purposes.
Checker has received critical acclaim for its content library and its lack of bugs.
As of December 2020, 45 million users have joined Checker.
