Chaotic Chess Tournament

Chaotic Chess Tournament is a chess-based mobile strategy video game developed by Activision for publisher Interplay Entertainment.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay is similar to other Casual games based in Chess, except players can select a team of individual figures, such as dinosaurs, World War soldiers, etc.. Like most casual games, Single Player and Multiplayer also include competing at a scalable difficulty against the computer, or against live opponents (the second players) via the internet.

Single Player / Multiplayer modes[]

Quick Match: Player can select both the 1P team and the CPU team, as well as the chess board the teams will fight in. It can be played in local and online multiplayer.

Tutorial: A.I. Elsa teaches Player how to play the game. It is also played in Story mode if Player selects Easy Mode.
Story Mode: As the main chess team (the Medieval Kingdom character team), Player must battle all chess teams to progress. There is also a non-playable chess team which serves as the story's final boss.
Challenges: A series of challenges to test player's performance in chess.
Tournament Mode: Player must battle numerous chess teams to win. The tournament is similar to a FIFA World Cup format, on which the first round splits the chess teams in 8 groups of 4 (similar to the qualifications), where which each team battles 3 opponents. The second round works similar to the World Cup's knockout stage, starting with the rounds of 16, and concluding with the finals. It can also be played online.

Story Mode Premise[]

High-ranking scientist Dr. George Palmer and his niece Ellie, a young chess champion, travel across parallel universes as they survive the local dangers by winning the "greatest chess matches in their lives". Dr. Palmer must also contend with the schemes of his old rival Dr. Eobard Muntz, who seeks knowledge of the Multiverse to impose his will in society.

Story Mode Characters[]

Dr. George Palmer - A high-ranking scientist with vast knowledge of the Multiverse.
Ellie Palmer - Dr. Palmer's niece, and a 15-year-old chess champion who travels alongside her uncle across the Multiverse.
Elsa - Dr. Palmer's A.I. robot assistant.
Dr. Eobard Muntz - The story's primary antagonist, Dr. Palmer's old rival, and a mad scientist who seeks to unlock the secrets of the Multiverse to become his society's most feared and respected genius.
Cynthia - Muntz's Russian henchwoman.

There are in total 32 playable chess teams. Each from a unique source and origin. The pieces are taken in the form of unique characters based on the team's culture and concept.
