Century-Hopping Hijinx, alternately known as Disney's Century-Hopping Hijinx, is an American animated adventure-science fiction-comedy television series, being created by TBD. It is produced by Disney Television Animation and it aired on Disney Channel from May 26th, 2022 until TBD [likely late] 2026.

Synopsis[]

The year is 2267, and humanity is more advanced than ever before. From anti-gravity functionality, special brain chips that increase your intelligence, or even the ability to see any time period on a whim, everything is accessible at your fingertips. After having been the top student at every year of her high school, Amelia Fugate decides that for her year-wide university project, she will go all the way back to the 21st century, study what life was like for “ancient humans” there, and live in it for a while thanks to a time machine she made.

Characters[]

Main[]

  • Amelia Fugate (voiced by Kimberly Brooks) - an inventive, determined, and hyperactively intelligent 20-year-old African-American from the 23rd century who has just entered a special kind of place after finishing high school, only for the smartest individuals. Due to a brain chip she was able to have installed, she can remember almost anything on the fly at anytime. For her school year project, she must study knowledge on “ancient humans”, so she decided to build herself a time machine to travel all the way back to the 21st century in order to see what life was like back then.

Supporting[]

  • Ginny Giovanna/The Prime (voiced by Christine Marie Cabanos) - a cutesy, clumsy, and seemingly naive, yet surprisingly no-nonsense young adult human-like figure who is the head of Amelia’s future, who can sound quite strict sometimes despite being known to say everything in a cutesy manner. To make sure Amelia doesn’t mess with the course of time during her project, they act as a pseudo-chaperone, occasionally heading to the past and even helping her with anything that she might be stuck on.
  • Lyla Smithy (voiced by Danica McKellar) - an athletic, hardened, and occasionally aggressive, but very outgoing young woman who encounters Amelia after she travels to the 21st century. Even outside of her sports time, she’s also watched a lot of conspiracy documentaries, especially those involving aliens, so after she finds out Amelia is from the future she thinks that aliens are indeed real. After learning more, the two become friends as Lyla occasionally messes with Amelia’s futuristic tech - not out of malice, but to have a good time.
  • Heather Devian (voiced by Veronica Taylor) - a soft, shy, quiet, and introverted yet kind young woman who acts as the polar opposite of Lyla and doesn’t like to make her presence known. Instead of working out, she works on her own short stories and fanfictions about her favorite TV shows. Upon meeting Amelia and discovering her time machine, she thinks both are kind of scary and doesn’t want to be near them in case they do anything bad to her. However, after Amelia reveals herself to be friendly, she warms up to her and her tech has even gotten inspirations for her writing.

Antagonists[]

  • Constantine Van Swift (voiced by A. J. LoCascio) - a vain, eccentric, and narcissistic, yet goofy and comedic time traveling aristocrat who is obsessed with his looks, always wanting to look his best for Amelia - who he’s been smitten before since the first time he encountered her… even though she has no idea he exists. He’s willing to do anything to get with her and expand his name… though his schemes often result in humiliation and being seen as even more of a joke than he already has been.
    • Cassandra "Cass" Nebula (voiced by Michele Knotz) - a no-nonsense, level-headed, and somewhat down to earth bodyguard for Constantine who acts as the voice of reason to his foolish antics, occasionally getting annoyed by his simping as she teasingly trashes his wooing skills. Despite this, she is always on top of her game and ready for whatever comes her way, to the point where she’s been able to handle some situations on her own without Constantine around. She does have vague memories of Amelia from when they were kids, but they’re so distant that she isn’t sure if they even happened or if she’s just imagining things.
