Captain Tsubasa: Advent of New Champions is a game developed by Tamsoft and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). It is a remasterization to the sort of incomplete Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions prequel.

Episode: Tsubasa[]

The story mode portrays the 16th National Junior Tournament held in the anime.

Matches[]

Episode: New Hero[]

In this story, the player becomes the main character (1st year) at one of four top schools: Nankatsu, Furano, Musashi or Toho (further schools are then added alongside DLC Waves). The player must compete at the Junior League alongside their teammates before competing for the World Youth Challenge. It has almost the same mechanics as the Episode: New Hero from the original Rise of New Champions. During the match results, there are two assessments. The first is the Playmaking Assets, responsible for the custom player's rank-up. It evaluates the assets (shooting, dribbling, tackling, etc.) of the custom player. The second is the Team Assets, responsible for the team's rank-up. It evaluates the Goals scored, V-Zones, Critical plays and Special Moves that were exerted in-match.

For each New Hero Route, there is a Gauge that needs to be filled to succeed in Story Mode:

  • Nankatsu Route: All-Out Gauge - One must achieve a minimum rate of successful moves in-match
  • Toho Gakuen Route: Pride Gauge - One must achieve a minimum goal difference in-match
  • Furano Route: Unity Gauge - One must achieve a minimum rank at the sum of all Team Assets
  • Musashi Route: Genius Gauge - One must choose among three options at "Misugi's Personal Matters". Each option revolves around one of the Playmaking Assets
