C.H.I.L.D. is an upcoming computer-animated crime film directed by James Cameron and Francis Ford Coppola. It will be produced by C.M. who also leading the main character designs.
When an Eskimo family suddenly losses their young son after a storm, the young boy must travel around the world to find them. On his journey, he learns that he can't talk because he is dumb [as in lacking the ability to talk] and he struggles with talking to people thanks to this. He finds a young orphan family who lives in Italy, until they are suddenly in trouble after several false claims were stated towards them. From the big leaps in the Australian outback to the alive cities of Japan, will he be able to find his parents? It's up to him to find out where the road takes him.
Although not the first to be brainstormed, it was the first to be planned out fully. The drawings date back to March 25, 2017 with the originally planned release date of May 30, 2025, until the switch to joining DreamWorks Animation was made where it would be left on hold until further notice. He decided to release it on May 31, 2030 after the various changes that occurred on Columbus day. On March 13, 2026, DreamWorks Animation optioned the idea as C.M. returned to the project after many of the models were completed. The original script was also edited to have a balance between heart-warming and intensity in the film.
There has been several statements that there will be a cast set for the film, but no specific details have been given yet. It was also confirmed that the C.H.I.L.D. boy will most likely be quiet to stay perspective to the film's plot.
