Big Hero 6 is an upcoming American superhero film directed by TBA and written by TBA. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Rideback, the film is a live-action animated remake of Disney's 2014 animated film Big Hero 6. It will star Scott Adsit reprising his voice role as Baymax with TBA as Hiro Hamada. TBA, TBA, TBA, TBA, TBA, and original cast members TBA will appear. Big Hero 6 is scheduled to be released in the United States by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on June 24, 2033.

The film tells the story of Hiro Hamada, a young robotics prodigy and Baymax, a healthcare robot invented by his late brother, Tadashi. They form a superhero team to combat a supervillain responsible for Tadashi's death.

Marketing[]
A first look at the film's live-action Baymax design was revealed at the 2032 D23 convention on August 6, 2032. Screen Rant and Collider both reacted positively to the reveal. On November 5, 2032, during D23 Brazil, Disney released a still from the film showing Baymax hugging Hiro. On November 19, Disney published the first teaser poster for the film, featuring Baymax. On November 25, Disney released the first teaser trailer, showing Baymax practicing the karate.
Release[]
In August 2032, the film was shifted to a summer 2033 theatrical release. In October, the film was given a release date of June 24, 2033. The release will also include engagements in RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema and 4DX. AMC Theatres will have a special Lilo & Stitch Opening Night Fan Event in Dolby Cinema, Regal Cinemas will have a special Big Hero 6 Fan Event in 4DX, and Cinemark Theatres will have a Big Hero 6 Fan Event Super Ticket Package in RealD 3D that will take place on June 23 at 6:00PM, referencing Stitch's experiment number/other name of Big Hero 6. The film held its world premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, the same venue that hosted the premiere of the original film, on June 18, 2033. The film was rated PG by the MPA, making it the first Disney live-action remake to share the same rating as the original film.

Box office[]
After tickets went on sale, Fandango Media reported that Big Hero 6 became the best first-day ticket pre-sale of the year for a PG-rated title, surpassing TBA. It also became the first-most first-day ticket pre-seller for a Disney remake, behind The Lion King.
The film is tracking to gross $TBA domestically over the four-day weekend. The film made $TBA in Thursday box office previews.
Critical response[]
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 143 critics' reviews are positive. The website's consensus reads: "Big Hero 6 flies to the sky and emerges out of the crate as one of the greatest live-action remakes of a Disney classic." Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 100 out of 100, based on 37 critics, indicating "universal acclaim". Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "A+" on an A+ to F scale.
