Beware the Freedom Fighters is an American action-adventure-science fiction-fantasy comic book series based on Sonic the Hedgehog by Sega, being published by IDW Publishing since [early] TBDth, 2019.

Synopsis

After a battle with Eggman causes Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy to suddenly disappear, Eggman has conquered Mobius as Cream races to create a new Freedom Fighters team to stop Eggman.

Characters

Main

Cream the Rabbit - a strong willed and determined rabbit who, after witnessing her friends disappear, creates a new type of Freedom Fighters.
- Cheese the Chao - Cream's pet chao who follows her around.
Vector the Crocodile - a surprisingly still comedic crocodile who used to lead the Chaotix but has disbanded them as he joins the Freedom Fighters due to still wanting to fight.
Silver the Hedgehog - a hedgehog from another universe who now can't leave the Prime universe as he got captured by Eggman and after being liberated, joins the Freedom Fighters.
Blaze the Cat - a calm cat princess who, like Silver, got warped to the Prime universe as she joins the Freedom Fighters due to wanting to free the world.
Tangle the Lemur - a goofy and slightly eccentric lemur who joins the Freedom Fighters due to wanting to prove herself and wanting to be as skilled as her heroes.
Whisper the Wolf - a shy wolf who is Tangle's best friend as she is skilled with wispons and joined the Freedom Fighters to make sure Tangle doesn't get killed.

Supporting

Vanilla the Rabbit - Cream's mother who cares for her safety but knows that she has to form the Freedom Fighters, as she sometimes aids them.
Marine the Raccoon - Blaze's sidekick who was convinced to not join the main squad of the Fighters as she helps Vanilla keep the most of Knothole safe in case Eggman figures out it is the location of the base.
Jewel the Beetle - Tangle and Whisper's friend who runs a museum in Knothole as she is into artifacts of the past.
- Charmy Bee - a former member of the Chaotix who is now Jewel's assistant as he likes the more calm life he has.
Guardian Units of Nations, consisting of:
- Comd. Abraham Tower - the head of G.U.N. who is taking a different approach to Eggman's reign as he doesn't want his power to grow, but is mainly putting his effort in preventing him from growing instead of taking what he has.
- Espio the Chameleon - a former member of the Chaotix who is now an agent of G.U.N. as he attempts to stop Eggman's power from rising but in a different way.
- Rouge the Bat - a former jewel thief who is now a full-fledged agent of G.U.N. as she no longer cares about jewels.
- Agent Topaz - Rouge's partner who is a lot more stern and serious although she appreciates Rouge's attempts to get better.
Shadow the Hedgehog - a hedgehog who is now a lone vigilante as his main goal is to find a way to bring Maria back, being unaware Eggman has already found a way to.
Tikal the Echidna - one of the last survivors of the Echidnas who is now trying to find the Master Emerald since Angel Island has been destroyed as she becomes an ally to Shadow, joining him as she sometimes helps Cream too.

Antagonists

The Eggman Empire, consisting of:
- Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik - the arch-enemy of Sonic who has found a way to make him and his top allies disappeared as he has conquered Mobius with the help of his newly christened Egg Bosses.
- Orbot and Cubot - Eggman's two robotic assistants who aren't that powerful but are somewhat loyal to their boss.
- Experiment 7/Maria Robotnik - a genetic clone of Maria Robotnik who Eggman has convinced what he is doing is right as she becomes another of his Egg Bosses, having zero memories of Shadow.
- Metal Cream - the successor of Metal Sonic made after his discontinuation as she is Eggman's top bodyguard and is obsessed with beating Cream.
- Dr. Starline - a calm and collected platypus who is one of Eggman's Egg Bosses as he is his most trusted scientist.
  - Rough and Tumble - two skunks who are mercenaries as Starline has employed them to be his prime enforcers/bodyguards.
- Infinite - a mysterious and extremely powerful jackal who is one of the Egg Bosses as he has terrifyingly powerful reality warping abilities.
- Mimic - a shapeshifting mercenary who has been doing various jobs for Eggman.
- The Great Battle Kukku - an extremely hammy bird who is an Egg Boss as he runs a massive armada in the air.
  - Dr. Fukurokov - a bird scientist who works for the Great Battle Kukku and is often abused by his master.

Issues

The Path to Freedom Pt. 1 - A few months after Sonic and his friends' disappearance, Eggman has conquered most of Mobius. As a result, Cream decides to make a new Freedom Fighters and recruits several people.
The Path to Freedom Pt. 2 - Cream learns that the Death Egg is imprisoning a hedgehog as she leads the newly formed Freedom Fighters to free him, believing it might be Sonic.
Trust Exercise - Believing the Fighters need to be more of a team, Cream decides to create a trust exercise to bond them together.
Assault at Night - Cream and the Fighters assault a Badnik production factory as they soon encounter one of Eggman's egg bosses.
The Replacement - Tangle has been acting strangely lately as when Cream and Whisper investigate, they learn that she has been replaced by the mercenary known as Mimic.
Fury of the Skies - The Freedom Fighters stage an attack on the Great Battle Kukku's air fleet which has been patrolling the skies heavily.
Experiment Seven - The Freedom Fighters help Shadow assault an Eggman factory as they discover that Eggman has brought Maria back, but with no memory of her past.
Blades of Glory - The Freedom Fighters arrive to an Arctic area as they have to use ice skates in order to fight a new Eggman robot.

The Perfect Host - A cult-like Egg Boss is planning on freeing the ancient entity known as Mephiles the Dark as Blaze happens to be considered to be the host as Cream must save her new friend.
