Production[]

Development[]

Following the final episode of BFB in April 2021, a film based on the Battle for Dream Island series was considered when creators of BFDI, Cary Kaiming Huang and Michael Huang showed the project to their patreons, which founded the project "amazing and appealing." The film was originally going to be a live-action film, until a decision was made to have CGI animation. The brothers looked for a production compant to co-produce the film. The script was pitched to various companies, which included: 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Pictures, and Sony Pictures Animation, who all passed down on it. Later discussions were made between jacknjellify and Warner Animation Group (now Warner Bros Pictures Animations) to produce a full-length feature film based on the Battle for Dream Island series.

In November 2023, it was announced that a CGI animated film based on the series was in production with Warner Bros Pictures Animation, Village Roadshow Pictures, Access Entertainment, and Jacknjellify Films with a slated release date for 2026. A budget of around $100 million to $200 million was funded to haul the project. More coming soon
