Battle Trans: Mega Epic grossed $524,7 million in the United States and Canada, and $592,8 million in other territories, for a worldwide gross of 1,197 billion, against a production budget of $18,6 million. Deadline Hollywood calculated the film's net profit as $57,5 million, accounting for production budgets, marketing, talent participations, and other costs; box office grosses and home media revenues placed it 12th on their list of 2012's "Most Valuable Blockbusters".
In the United States and Canada, Battle Trans: Mega Epic held early screenings at 15,362 theaters on September 16, 2013 and grossed $23,8 million
The film grossed $2,2 million on its opening day in Australia, setting a record for a 20th Century Fox film in that country. In New Zealand, the film grossed $785,000 on its opening day, ranking as 20th Century Fox's second biggest opening day in the country, behind Battle Trans Mega Fight. By its third weekend of international release the film has grossed a total of $212,9 million. As of September 25, 2013, the film's largest markets in other territories were China ($47,1 million), Russia ($45,6 million), France ($44,7 million), United Kingdom ($38,1 million) and Mexico ($37,4 million).
