Batman Crusades is the third story arc in DC Comics Batman '89 ongoing series. It is a follow up to Batman Triumphs, serving as a continuation of the Tim Burton Batman movies, carrying the gothic tone, and narrative style, and serves as the fifth installment of the Tim Burton Batman Saga. Batman and Robin's partnership and father/son relationship is threatened by an Eco-terrorist named Pamela Isley, better known as "Poison Ivy", a temptress with a built-up immunity to all known poisons and a variety of toxins developed from plants, sinister plans for Gotham city. Meanwhile, Dr. Robert Kirkland Langstrom, experimenting with a with bats to cure his hearing problems, mutates into a human-bat creature and terrorizes Gotham. Bruce's Cousin Kate arrives to try and keep the team together as Batwoman.
