Plot[]
Characters[]
Main Characters[]
- Terry McGinnis - The current Batman. Under the pretense of doing errands for Bruce, Terry fights crime as the new Batman. Terry was chosen to be the new Dark Knight as he shared a similar loss as Bruce had; that being the death of a parent.
- Matt McGinnis - Terry's younger brother who is ironically a big fan of Batman. Matt helps Terry to fight crime as the new Robin.
- Bruce Wayne - The original Batman, he is Terry's employer, mentor, and predecessor. During his final mission as Batman, Bruce suffered a heart attack that forced him to use a gun in self-defense; abhorred by this, he hung up his cape and cowl.
- Alfred Pennyworth II - Alfred's nephew, underling and successor who is Bruce's new butler and Terry's uncle figure.
- Ace - Bruce Wayne's pet, the billionaire rescued and took in the stray Great Dane after the canine defended him from a Jokerz thug at Crime Alley during one of Wayne's annual visits there in memory of his slain parents. Fiercely loyal to Bruce, he eventually develops a bond with Terry.
Terry's family[]
- Warren McGinnis & Mary McGinnis - Terry's parents.
Recurring characters[]
- Dana Tan - She is the Asian American girl who is Terry's girlfriend, sweetheart and love interest who is fully aware that he is Batman.
- Maxine "Max" Gibson - A genius high schooler and friend of Terry's.
- Barbara Gordon - The no-nonsense Gotham City police commissioner, and the former Batgirl. She was the daughter of former Gotham City police commissioner, James Gordon.
- Dick Grayson - Husband of Barbara Gordon and the superhero Nightwing. He was the first Robin and now acts as a second mentor to Terry.
Villains[]
- Derek Powers - A ruthless businessman, whose company Powers Technology merged with Wayne Enterprises years before. After accidentally becoming exposed to a biological weapon of his own making, Powers is treated with extreme radiation and becomes the radioactive villain known as Blight.
- Paxton Powers - The estranged son of Derek Powers, who takes over his father's position as Wayne-Powers CEO after the revelation that the elder Powers is the supervillain Blight; however, Paxton is also ruthless and power hungry as his father.
- Jokerz - A violent street gang who dress and act out in the tradition of the infamous Joker; however, unlike the supervillain they emulate, they are merely teenage delinquents who enjoy vandalism and petty crime.
- The Penguin - The deformed villain with the penguin-like appearance who is the oldest living gentleman due to his centenarian age.
- Mr. Freeze - The tragic villain lives on as nothing but an immortal head preserved by Derek Powers. He is used as a test subject for an attempt to clone a new body for Powers. However, Freeze's new body begins to get the same symptoms as his previous body.
- Bane - In the years since Bruce Wayne's retirement from crime fighting, Bane's constant use of the super-steroid Venom has destroyed his body, leaving him a withered, wheelchair-bound husk of a man only kept alive by the very drug that once gave him superhuman strength. Later on, Derek Powers granted Bane the newly modified Venom which rejuvenated Bane to half his real age.
- Killer Croc - Killer Croc is one of the classic villains that survived in the future, because the reptilians can live more than 50 years.
- Clayface - The long-living villain who lives in the sewers of Neo-Gotham City.
- Professor Pyg - A British eco-terrorist who is one of Batman's arch-enemies.
- Mister Toad - Professor Pyg's henchman whose depiction was also toned down. Here, Mister Toad fights with a wooden cane that conceals a flamethrower and he has a sonic croak.
- Dr. Abel Cuvier - A doctor who starts a trend in infusing animal biology, also known as "splicing," with human DNA.
- Rhyno - A delinquent spliced with rhinoceros DNA, and one of Cuvier's henchmen.
- Tiger Shark - A delinquent spliced with shark DNA, and one of Cuvier's henchmen.
- Chameleon - A delinquent spliced with chameleon DNA, and one of Cuvier's henchmen.
- Vixen - A woman spliced with red fox DNA, and one of Cuvier's henchmen.
- Chemo - Chemo is a chemical-fuel monstrosity.
- Ra's al Ghul - The leader of the Society of Shadows who has lived for over 600 years due to the Lazarus Pits. He is a fanatic eco-terrorist who believes that most of humanity should be wiped from the face of the Earth.
