This film features Barney, his friends BJ, Baby Bop and Riff, especially the debut of Geraldo the Elf, who wants to hunt Biggles for their fur, put them in zoos, and try to make kids feel gloomy on his conquest to destroy all kid-songs from the world. However, being blasted with bubbles and exposing everyone to Mr. Northwest as a semi-fraud and confesses that he'll never steal again, Geraldo repents and he and Mr. Northwest both get invited to Baby Bop's 4th birthday after he restores the kid-songs and Barney songs to their childhood glory in a song "Weave Me The Sunshine"

Prequel plot[]

After Alexander Lucius von Richmond was arrested for conspiracy and crimes against humanity, while Barney comes back to life, Nathan and his wife, Rebecca take Alex North and his little siblings, Jenny and Robby to The Golden Star Palace Resort to meet up with Marcus Lynn Jackson and his daughter, Kate. However, Alexander Lucius von Richmond quits his job as a door-to-door salesman, he decides to work with Mr. Northwest and Mr. de la Carnage (But then, he realized that Axe de la Carnage lied to him about Barney being a threat to the Richmond Family name). Later on, Barney returns and thanks his pals after being brought back to life, then, Hooting Annie owl says "hoo-hoo, let's celebrate!".

Nick Kroll as Johnathan Williams Princeton Northwest- The main antagonist in the film, he was a psychotic multi-billionaire ex-teacher until he has a diabolical plan: In order to be re-elected as Mayor of Columbus, Ohio, he will get rid the world of nursery rhymes, and childhood funtime activities and then, he was tricked by Alejandro de la Carnage. He is the "founder and hotel manager" of the five-star resort called The Golden Star Palace Resort, using the power of the Golden Majestic Crystal, for his ultimate weapon: The Childhood DestroyerBot 2000, he is also known as The True Childhood Destroyer. However, he changes his ways and mind when he became a prinicpal of his new school, Johnathan W. P. Northwest High School before the end credits.
Ciara Hanna as Vanessa Williams Princeton Northwest- The former antagonist turned to supporting protagonist, she is Johnathan Williams Princeton Northwest's daughter and a friend of Alex North Thompson and Kate Lynn Jackson.
T. J. Miller as Paul Sanderson- Mr. Northwest's loyal henchman and Vanessa's ex-boyfriend. And then, he and Vanessa got back to get together again, before the end credits.
Micheal Keaton as Richard Spencer- The antagonist at The Rebirth of Barney the Dinosaur, and now he is the former antagonist turned to support the protagonist after he saved Baby Bop's life.
Charlie Day as Geraldo the Elf- The former antagonist turned to supporting protagonist, he tried to make kids feel gloomy on his conquest to destroy all kid-songs from the world. Suddenly, he changes his ways thanks to BJ who shoots bubbles from his bubble-ray gun.
Chris Pratt as Marcus Lynn Jackson- Kate Lynn Jackson's father
David Mongar as himself- An undercover agent of the CIA.
Samuel L. Jackson as Reginald Tiberius Winchester- Founder and owner of The Golden Star Enterprises. And then, he became Mayor of Columbus, before the end credits.

Danny Trejo as Alejandro "Axe" de la Carnage - The fourth and final antagonist in the film, when he revealed his true colors to Sir Richmond, that's he a threat to the Richmond Family name, and later, he got arrested by the CIA and sentenced to community clean-up service for 4 months, before the end credits.
