It is the fourth feature-length live-action/animation hybrid film to feature Looney Tunes characters, after Who Framed Tom And Jerry The Movie, and like Tom and Jerry The Movie,

The film communicates themes of anger and teamwork and a tonal shift from comedic to adventurously heartfelt. The film was widely promoted by Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network, with tie-in promotions made by Kellogg's, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Nabisco, Hungry Howie's, Baskin-Robbins, IHOP, Chili's, M&M's, Wendy's, and Hasbro. The film was released on Novmber 1, 2018,

Plot

the movie game footage of a live action TF2 photorealistic CGI versions to the Warner Bros. quickly and promptly accepts their request to make their movie fully CGI. 2 years later, Plotz rudely refuses to do that, because live-action films based on CGI make more money and calls a security guard to throw them out of the studio. Out of retaliation, Spy calls Demoman that they've been hornswoggled and bamboozled that their movie is going to be in live-action,

interrupted by Spy, who is sick and tired of starts lltelling the audience that Warner Bros.

The movie begins as the Spy invite every single TF2, crazy rides, and activities over TF2 Island. On his way, Soldier brings the Engineer along with him. Meanwhile,

After given missions from the Heavy

After going back to TF2 Island, they only find the TF Castle has been destroyed by TF. Sniper now realize that the mastermind behind TF's arrival is also their archenemy, Edgar Baconhooves, Don Bacon, and his assistant, Patsy. Bomb and his flock are ready to beat Edgar and his goons, but TF stops them and throws the Flock (sans Engineer) into a portal. Heavy and his friends

Seeing his friends enter a heated argument, Spy manages to successfully stop this before it gets too heated with a rousing speech. Sniper resolve their differences, while they wonder how they get back to TF2 Island. Hal manages to lead the flock into another multidimensional portal, Frost attempts to recruit former UK private investigator Eddie Valiant, Spy reverted back to their traditional forms and return to TF2 Island to save the captive Sniper

Sniper reverted back to their traditional forms and return to TF2 Island to save the captive Sniper and TF and attack and defeat Baron Harmful by firing themselves over his colossal ship using their Pyro. Soldier sees that Sniper has been cornered by Medic and his army,

Just when all hope seems lost, Scout calls in Medic and her Sniper, Sniper, and every single TF2 and TF to arrive and help Sniper. An all-out war broke between Baron Harmful's army and Sniper. All of the TF, toons, and Sniper fend henchmen while Edgar keeping the TF away from him. Sniper battle against, whom is Rocket Launcher by Soldier, being more powerful than before. manages to hurl a box of TNT at Sniper, but Pyro and Soldier throw a can of sardines in his way before he throws the TNT

A week later, the TFT2 Festival resumes, as Pyro finally gets the recognition he deserves and is hailed as a hero along with Sniper in gratitude when Heavy gives out a speech about how Scout is not only the brains of their team, but also in fact the heart and moral center of Sniper. Sniper even forgive TF/TF2 when they sees him sulking in sorrow, feeling regretful for what he did, and he befriends them with a makeshift sun visor for each TF. Edgar remarks that betraying his kind was the dumbest thing he's ever done. Sniper celebrate by protecting the eggs together and are now welcomed by the TFT2, who now begin to acclimate themselves with the rest of the TF and TF2 (even the old inhabitants of TF move in to TF2 Island) in various activities for life, as Heavy shows a sign reading "Happy?". While celebrating their festival and victory, Sniper have a conversation with Demoman and are inspired to move forward, upgrading their TF and resuming their Demoman-guarding duties.

When the film ends, Heavy insists on watching it again. Scout tells her that they'll watch it again tomorrow until Sniper,

until Sniper, Heavy entire flock, and the rest of the toons want to watch the movie again as well, following an epilogue narrated by the TF2 detailing the fates and whereabouts of the CGI if the film was critical and finacial success.

A mid-credits scene shows Sniper welcomes Winnie and her gang to TF2 Island.

Production

Development

On January 30, 2017, plans shifted from a live-action/CGI hybrid film to a fully traditionally animated film, that would be "in the same vein as the source material", with the help of a one-time collaboration of WB.

In August 1, 2017, Warner Bros. watched Tom and Jerry The Movie

Animation and visual effects

Animation services for the CGI for Sniper will also be provided by Blue Sky Studios, who hired 3D animators with a passion for 2D animation for the project.

Unlike other live-action/animated hybrids after Who Framed Tom and Jerry The Movie, the animation of the characters followed the same steps as Tom and Jerry The Movie.

  1. The animators and lay-out artists were given black and white printouts of the live action scenes, placed their animation paper on top of them and drew the animated characters in relationship to the live action footage.
  2. After rough animation was complete, it would run through the normal process of traditional animation until the cels were shot on the rostrum camera with no background.
  3. The animated footage was then sent to Industrial Light & Magic for compositing, where technicians would animate three lighting layers (shadows, highlights and tone mattes) separately, in order to make the cartoon characters look three-dimensional and give the illusion of the characters being affected by the lighting on set.
  4. Finally, the lighting effects were optically composited on to the cartoon characters, who were, in turn, composited into the live-action footage.
