Plot[]

In a world co-populated by humans and cartoon characters known as “toons”, The Warner siblings, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, cartoon stars of the hit 1990s series “Animaniacs” live in the WB Water Tower on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, California where they discovered outside the studio humans, toons and animation fans are upset with Hollywood for being mistreating toons and canceling promising projects as the Warners sees angry protesters of humans and toons outside Warner Bros. Studio. Yakko, Wakko and Dot, goes see their psychiatrist, Dr. Scaratchansniff during their appointment and then see a stress Nora Rita Norita, the CEO of Warner Brothers in her office explaining to the Warner siblings that David Zaslav (Jack Black), the CEO and President of their parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery is responsible for cancelling, interfering and ruining so many of Warner Bros.’ most promising upcoming projects and beloved franchises, shows, and movies, especially in the animation deportation ever since Warner Brothers merged with Discovery Inc. and now because if Zaslav’s actions and bad discussion making, the entire company is in huge debt and at risk of being sold to another major studio. With Nora feels powerless, the Warners meets her intern, Harper Parker (Jo Ellen Pellman); the latter reveals herself to be a big Animaniacs fan, both the original 1993 series and the 2020 revival series, and understanding that they might lose their home, Yakko, Wakko and Dot set out to Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. Headquarters in New York City with Harper to save Warner Bros. and the animation industry.

Upon their arrival to New York, Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Harper enters Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. Headquarters and meets David Zaslav alongside with The Mary Sues: Chloe Carmichael (Kate McKinnon) from Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents, Fake Velma (Melissa Villaseñor) from the Max series, Velma, and John Malone. Zaslav reveals his evil plan to ruined Warner Brothers and the animation industry by cancelling beloved, upcoming and popular movies and shows, especially animated related projects and green-lighting terrible ones and reality shows that nobody will like to make Warner Brothers bankrupt while Discovery remains on top making him rich. The Warners and Harper escaped Zaslav’s office and plans to tell the FBI about Zaslav’s plan along with video and audio recordings and a flash drive as evidence to give to them while the Warner Siblings’ friend Sweetie Bird (Tessa Netting) from Tiny Toons Looniversity and Scrappy-Doo (Scott Innes) who’s trying to redeem his reputation after how he was portrayed in the live-action 2002 Scooby-Doo movie help try and find Ugly Sonic (Tim Robinson) in Los Angeles and ask him FBI contacts to tell Former FBI Agent, FBI Director, Karen Sympathy (Piper Perabo reprising her role from “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle) about Zaslav’s plan as Zaslav and his henchmen plans to chase after them and capture the Warners and turn them into humans with the Humanizer, an AI powered machine that turns toons in humans.

As Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Harper made their way back to Los Angeles, California, they get lost and enters a dark and gloomy place known “The Forgotten Lands” where cartoon characters go and live when they become forgotten by the world. They meets Father Time from Histeria who runs the place and tells them that he and the forgotten toons have been through a lot over the years and Maggie Pesky informs them that some of their residents, Bessie Higgenbottom from The Mighty B, Ruby Trollman from Trollz, and Vendetta from Making Fiends were kidnapped by some strange humans in business suit two nights ago and was strangle considered that they don’t get that many visitors due to them belong “forgotten”. Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Harper feels sorry for them and informs them about David Zaslav’s plan to destroy WB and the animation industry and they need to find FBI Director, Karen Sympathy. Father Time showed them the way out as they thank the forgotten toons and before they leave, Harper give Father Time and the forgotten toons an heartwarming and inspiring message, “From the bottom of my heart, everyone. I just wanna say, you guys are not truly forgotten if there are still people out there who remembers you all”.

As Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Harper make their way to Warner Bros. Studio, Zaslav and his henchmen caught up to them and chase them on the road. The Warners and Harper tries to hide from them in a ongoing Fan Con, In the ongoing chase, John Malone is restrained and arrested by FBI agents while Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Harper were also taken by FBI agents to their Los Angeles HQ and finds out that the FBI agents are here to help them and meets FBI Director, Karen Sympathy who reveals to be Harper’s aunt.

Karen informs them that the FBI, the LAPD and the DOJ have teamed up and been trying to find out what Zaslav’s been up to since the merge and the FBI were able to find them thanks to the tip given by their agent Ugly Sonic who received it from Sweetie Bird and Scrappy-Doo from earlier and Detective Nicky Flippers who spotted them while he was investigating a missing toon disappearance in The Forgotten Lands Maggie Pesky mentioned earlier. The quartet handed over the evidence of Zaslav’s plan to destroy Warner Bros. and the animation industry to her claiming they have enough to put Zaslav away for good and ask them for their help. The Warners learned that Harper had a rough childhood growing up during her pre-teen and teen years and didn’t had many friends and made fun of her for still liking animation and telling them that Wakko’s Wish was her comfort movie. The Warners cheers her up by singing "There's Only One of You" from one of their episode from the original series and tell her that there’s nothing wrong with being a fan of animation no matter how old she get and she’s not only a great fan, but also a great friend.

Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Harper finally return to Warner Bros. Studios but are captured by David Zaslav and his henchmen, along with Nora Rita Norita, revealing she was part of Zaslav’s plan this whole time and has been covering for him. They tied them to a chair only for The Warners to escape moments later since Fake Velma used regular rope instead of the escape-proof ones. Harper was still tied to her chair, then Pinky and the Brain help untied her while Yakko, Wakko and Dot distracts Zaslav, Fake Velma, Chloe and Nora by being zany to the max. With Harper freed, Pinky and the Brain lead them to a hidden room in the building filled with people behind glass cells. They find out that those people are actually toons who got turned into live-action versions and humanoids of themselves for a terrible reality show Zaslav created called, “The ‘Real’ Toons of Hollywood”. They freed all the kidnapped humanized toons and changed the setting on the Humanizer from “human" to “toon” and changed everyone back to their original toon appearance while accidentally turning David Zaslav into a giant toon monster known as, “Toon Monster Zaslav”. The Warners, Harper and the rescued toons escaped from the building and spilt up and run around the Warner movie lot.

Yakko and Wakko turns on the Bat Signal, the WB Signal and the Toon Signal and every WB Employee, WB characters and toons (inducing the Forgotten Toons who were inspired by Harper’s word from earlier) from other studios showed up and team up to help save Warner Bros and the animation industry. Fake Velma and Chloe goes after Dot and Harper but are saved by the rest of the cast of Animaniacs who dropped an anvil on Chloe by Slappy the Squirrel while Fake Velma was attacked by the real Velma Dinkley and the other versions of her until Slappy put dynamite in Fake Velma’s pants and blasted her into the Friends fountain where she was arrested. Dot, Harper and the rest of the Animaniacs cast joins Yakko, Wakko and the others then Toon Monster Zaslav kidnaps Dot and Harper and climbs the WB Water Tower and trap them on the roof of the tower. Then all the humans and toons begins to attack Toon Monster Zaslav while Yakko and Wakko make their way to the WB Tower and save Dot and Harper. Yakko come up with a plan to defeat Zaslav and save the studio; to reach the Humanizer on the other side of the studio and turn Zaslav back into. Harper makes her way to the Humanizer with the help of the other Animaniacs cast and other humans and toons while Yakko, Wakko and Dot distracts Zaslav by turning their Water Tower into a giant, combat-ready mech (similar in the episode “Super Strong Warner Siblings”) and joins The Iron Giant, King Kong, Godzilla, Reptar, the Transformers, etc. in a epic giant robot/monster fight.

Harper made it to the Humanizer and set it back to the human setting, as Toon Monster Zaslav comes charging at her, Harper zaps him with the Humanizer turning him back to human and destroys the Humanizer, then found himself surrounded by angry humans and toons who starts beating him up until the LAPD, the DOJ and FBI, led by both Karen Sympathy and Ugly Sonic, arrive to arrest Zaslav (and Chloe and Nora who were arrested off-screen) and the cast of Jellystone! for their crimes. Then an angry Thaddeus Plotz (also Frank Welker; who reveals to now be the CFO of Warner Brother Discovery) arrives and fires David Zaslav as CEO of Warner Brother Discovery and takeover his position while he promotes Harper as the new Co-CEO of Warner Bros Studios with Hello Nurse (also Tress MacNeille) in Burbank, California due to Nora’s arrest and her involvement with Zaslav’s plan as everyone celebrates that WB and the animation industry has been saved.

One week later, everything in WB and the animation industry have got better thanks to Harper and Hello Nurse’s good decisions making, she reverses all of Zaslav’s bad decisions such as splitting up with Discovery Inc., uncancelled and released all the shows and movies like Batgirl, Scoob! Holiday Haunt, Coyote vs Acme, renewed Final Space and Close Enough, changed Max back to HBO Max, gave the Cartoon Network characters back their original Cartoon Network Studios Building, put Pepe Le Pew back on Looney Tunes, green-lit Learning with Pibby, Scrappy-Doo whose reputation has been restored made his return in Scooby-Doo (for special occasion now), canceled all the bad shows like Jellystone and Creature Commandos and throw it along with episodes of Velma in the WB vault never to be re-released, fires James Gunn and Peter Safran from DC Studios and cancel the DCU and restore the DC Extended Universe, they also let some the forgotten toons work at WB and created a strict ban on AI in all movies, TV shows, and video games and convince the other studios to do the same as well. As for Zaslav and his henchmen who has been blacklisted from every studios in the world and facing many lawsuits been sentenced to life in prison (expect for Chloe who has been sentenced to 5 to 8 years in prison due to her young age), and Yakko, Wakko, Dot and Harper were held as heroes for saving Warner Bros and the animation industry. Harper later joins Yakko, Wakko and Dot as the walk towards the WB Water Tower into the sunset. As Harper ask them what are they, Yakko was about to tell her but gets cut off by the end title card.

During the credits, Harper gets to watch the entire Animaniacs cast recreate the Animaniacs intro from the original show directed by Steven Spielberg and Tom Ruegger.

In the Mid-credits scene, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are being chase by Ralph T. Guard around the WB lot while Harper is having a meeting with Pinky and the Brain and greenlights their idea for a Pinky and the Brain movie. Then Pinky and the Brain returns to ACME Lab and prepare for tomorrow night… Write the script and hold auditions for the movie. And then the same thing we do every night; try to take over the world! Then a jealous Freakazoid breaks the fourth wall and demands for his own movie.

And finally in the Post-credits scene, Yakko, Wakko and Dot comes out of the Water Tower going their Water Tower closing gag tells the remaining audience that no toons were harmed in the making of this movie… expect for Toon Monster Zaslav, Fake Velma, Chloe Carmichael, the 2016 Powerpuff Girls and the cast of Jellystone. The Warners close the film saying Yakko’s catchphrase, “Goodnight everybody!”

Controversies[]

Zaslav's Attempt to Cancel the Movie for Tax Write-Off Backlash[]

During the film’s production, the real life Warner Bros. Discovery CEO and President, David Zaslav tried to cancel this movie before its release for an another tax write-off. This sparked major backlash among both fans of Animaniacs and the cast and crew and many others involved with this film, especially Steven Spielberg who’s the director and the executive producer of the movie and was the original series and led to believe that the real reason Zaslav wanted this this film is because that he didn’t like how he was portrayed in the film believed that this movie will expose him as an evil businessman who hates animation and creative storytelling and will cancel anything that isn’t a reality show and bankrupt Warner Bros. Studios and only cares about Discovery. Fans and celebrities online expressing their anger at WBD and Zaslav’s decision online with #ReleaseAnimaniacsMovie and #FireDavidZaslav calling for Zaslav to be fired and Steven Spielberg and Tom Rugger (the creator of the original series) announced that they’re filling a major lawsuit against WBD and Zaslav if he goes through with his tax write-off and doesn’t release the movie. Later that day, WBD and Zaslav reversed their decision and released the movie like promise, this time under the distribution of Warner Bros. Pictures (unlike past films like Coyote vs ACME and The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie) like the studios agreed on when the film was greenlit and Zaslav was warned by Spielberg and Rugger that if he tried to cancel the movie before its release date again, they will go forward on the lawsuit against him.

Rachel Zegler’s comments[]

Rachel Zegler who portrayed as Snow White in the controversial Snow White remake, has also express many of her dismay for this movie where she claims she auditioned for the role Harper Parker, but Spielberg immediately banned her from the movie due to her past negative comments about the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs movie, she doesn’t respect the source material, how she was hard to work with and the last Spielberg movie she was in West Side Story bombed in the box office. She also did not please with the jokes about her, the live action Snow White movie and especially the jokes making fun of DEI and woke culture, actors, activists, topics and agendas in Hollywood, on social media she express that she doesn’t like Pellman’s performance as Harper and she Harper was written in the movie as someone who’s against DEI which is something Zegler praise, her comments sparks major backlash online and many of people and fans came in Pellman’s defense and praise her performance as her Harper. Jenna Ortega (who has a cameo in the movie) has expressed her dislike of DEI and woke topics being the main focus in films and television in Hollywood, has also comes to Jo Ellen Pellman’s defense and praised both the movie and Pellman’s performance as her Harper and how the character was perfectly written and condemned Zegler’s comments on social media saying, “People in Hollywood like Rachel Zegler will never learn and understand that the audience don’t want to see a movie or tv show with these DEI nonsense like creating these so-called “girl bosses” and end up becoming Mary-Sues, gender-swapping and race-swapping already existing and iconic characters that many people have loved for decades and disrespect the source material to these adaptations and blaming the fans for their failures. The audience are sick and tired of these DEI and woke agendas in stories where it doesn’t belong just to push their message nobody asked for and just want movies and tv shows with original well written creative storytelling and new characters to enjoy. And this movie proves that, not only that this movie is true and faithful to the source material of the original 90s cartoon, but Jo Ellen Pellman was a perfect example of a new and a well written character in a adaption to a beloved franchise and did a amazing job playing Harper and saying what literally saying what everyone has been saying about Hollywood lately”. After Ortega's post, WBD has announced that Rachel Zegler has been blacklisted from all divisions of Warner Bros. Discovery.
